Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Bliss and Boutique Buys! (Blog Post #1236)
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, writing to you from the enchanting city of Prague!
This week, I've traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for cobbled streets and the fairytale charm of the Czech Republic. And trust me, it's every bit as delightful as it sounds!
Before we dive into all the fashion finds and ballet brilliance I've encountered, let's have a quick catch-up! If you've been following along, you'll know my journey is fuelled by my love for ballet, fashion, and all things pink, naturally.
I earn my travel fund through the magic of dance. Every pirouette, every grand jeté, is another step closer to a new adventure! This week, my performances brought me to this gorgeous city, where I’ve already been exploring all the hidden nooks and crannies.
Now, let’s get back to the ballet! Oh, the ballet! Prague's ballet scene is just as captivating as the city itself. Last night, I saw a stunning performance of "Giselle" at the beautiful National Theatre. The choreography was ethereal, the costumes exquisite (think tutus, but even more embellished!), and the story just pulled me in. The National Theatre itself is a architectural gem – and to think that ballerinas like me have graced its stage for centuries! The history of ballet truly fascinates me!
Talking about history, I just had to take a detour into Prague’s enchanting Old Town. Cobblestone streets, colourful buildings, and even a clock tower that comes alive with puppets! I’ve found myself lost in time amongst the shops selling Czech glass and local crafts, but for me, it’s all about the boutiques. My pink tutu has been spotted in so many picture-perfect outfits: from vintage lace blouses to bohemian dresses that make me feel like a fairytale princess! Prague has a really unique vibe and I’ve discovered some truly exquisite local brands that celebrate individuality and have such interesting textures and fabrics.
Shopping Therapy
You know how much I love finding beautiful accessories to compliment a pink tutu, and Prague’s vintage boutiques and street markets are absolutely heaven! I found this delightful little hat shop that reminded me of the "Mary Poppins" era, complete with elegant parasols and bonnets for a vintage-inspired look. The woman running it even had a matching pink tutu for me! I absolutely loved chatting with her about the history of fashion, and she even gave me some advice for finding the best antique lace trims in the city – talk about a treasure hunt!
My love for tutus goes beyond just wearing them, you see. I’m obsessed with the history of tutu design. Did you know that the first tutus weren’t the delicate tulle masterpieces we see today? They were much longer and more like a ballet skirt! Imagine – a ballet world without those airy, flowing tutus that swirl with each plié! I’m going to do a special blog post next week dedicated to tutu history - just keep an eye out for that on pink-tutu.com!
But back to Prague, because this city has truly enchanted me. I discovered this fantastic equestrian shop and the owner was delighted when I explained my love for pink tutus. He has the most stunning velvet riding hats that I'm desperate to try out – think pink velvet paired with a sparkly pink tutu, darling! He told me about this lovely tradition of horseback riding in Prague – I imagine a long, white, tutu swirling in the wind as I ride across the parkland, very "My Fair Lady"! It’s already on my bucket list! (Though for now, I’ll be content with just imagining it, I can’t help but picture the sheer, dramatic contrast of a bright pink tutu against a classic black riding hat - I just think that image would look so elegant and impactful.)
I've already mapped out my next few days. More ballet, more shopping (you know I just can't resist!) and a special date with a local horse trainer who promises to give me a riding lesson (in a stunning velvet hat of course)! I’ll keep you all posted on the adventures. And I think it’s safe to say that you’ll all see a special tutu-themed post dedicated to Prague’s beautiful streets and architecture.
Now, before I go, I’m excited to share my biggest discovery from this week’s adventures: I stumbled upon the most adorable pink pony! Imagine my joy when I found this pink beauty right outside my hotel. We’ve been inseparable, with me brushing his fluffy mane and teaching him some basic dance moves – you never know, maybe he's the next superstar dancer!
Well, my darlings, it’s getting late here and this pink pony needs his beauty sleep. Tune in next Wednesday for another exciting update! Until then, I encourage you all to live in the pink and follow your passions!
Remember, every twirl, every pirouette, every beautifully draped tutu - it’s all part of the journey!
Until next time,
Emma xxx
