Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet-tastic Adventure! (Blog Post #1279)
Bonjour, darlings!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu post! This week, I'm bursting with excitement, as I'm writing to you from the magical city of Prague. Yes, darling, I'm in the Czech Republic! I'm a firm believer that a tutu should be able to travel the world and soak up the beauty that different cultures have to offer, and what better place to experience that than in the enchanting capital of this beautiful country.
Train Travel with a Twist
As a proper ballerina with a passion for history, the only way to arrive in Prague was by train. It's a journey steeped in a bit of vintage glamour - you just can't beat the charm of those old carriages! Luckily, I managed to snag a seat near the window, which was perfect for my obligatory Instagram post. Don't you just adore a picture with a flowing tulle skirt and a gorgeous backdrop?
Oh, and speaking of my Instagram feed, did I mention that I wore my iridescent pink tutu with its delicate flower appliqués? Absolutely the right choice for a first glimpse of Prague! It was almost as beautiful as my arrival in Prague itself. Almost.
Prague: A Ballet Lover's Dream
Once I arrived, I had to dive straight into the ballet scene. This city, darling, is a veritable wonderland for ballet enthusiasts! From grand opera houses like the Prague State Opera (home to some truly spectacular performances) to intimate venues brimming with passion, you're practically guaranteed to stumble upon a breathtaking show no matter what your taste.
Ballet: Then and Now
Of course, I wouldn't be a proper ballerina without delving into Prague's ballet history. This city has been a hotbed of creativity since the 18th century. It even had a famed dancing academy, founded in 1711! The fact that they’ve produced some incredible ballerinas over the centuries really makes my heart sing. Just wait until you hear about the history of Prague's ballet shoes - the evolution from the soft slippers to the contemporary point shoes, it's fascinating! I actually managed to track down a museum where they displayed ballet costumes and footwear throughout history. Oh my! You have to visit it, darlings, you won't be disappointed.
The City’s Dance History and the History of My Own Dance Journey
Honestly, walking around Prague is like stepping back in time. Each street corner, each cobbled pathway, has stories whispered in its stones. The history is palpable. I imagine that's what drew me to it. Ballet history is about finding new ways of expressing movement, just like discovering new places to experience life! The more I learn about its ballet history, the more I want to explore my own dance journey, and learn about its historical significance. Maybe Prague will give me a newfound perspective. That's definitely on the agenda for this trip, along with... you guessed it, finding a truly fabulous new pink tutu!
Pink Tutu Shopping Spree!
There’s just something about a European shopping spree that makes every outfit feel extra special. Prague’s old town with its charm and architecture made my shopping experience truly magical! I snagged a beautiful vintage-inspired powder pink tutu with shimmering lace and a graceful, flowing design that twirled perfectly. Now, darling, this tutu deserves to be displayed proudly on the Pink Tutu Blog for you all to admire! And believe me, you won't regret seeing this gem in action. It's going to make its grand debut at a private performance for all my wonderful fans this week in Prague!
The Prague Dance Scene
Before I leave you with a peek at what I wore in Prague and share my favourite new dance finds, I need to gush about what else I have seen in this city. It’s like the universe wants to indulge my passion for ballet in the most exquisite way possible. Did I tell you about the enchanting ballet school that sits on a narrow street? The students are incredible – with their graceful moves, you can really see their love for dance. But I know what you're thinking, and you're right – the cherry on top of my Prague adventures has been my time exploring its diverse dance scene! From the energetic hip-hop workshops at the "Prague Street Dance" studio, where I had so much fun learning some fabulous new moves. And yes, even I learned a few new dance steps in Prague – I know, I know! I thought I'd stick to classical ballet, but this was different. It's really made me want to expand my repertoire, my lovely readers! And you all know what comes next…
What Could Be More Fun Than Dancing in Prague!
Prague isn't just about ballet and shopping (though, darling, these two activities really do reign supreme)! I’ve had a few other delightful experiences too: Like getting lost in the labyrinthine, atmospheric alleys of Old Town – Prague's a haven for art lovers! And what is an outing to a new city without indulging in a delicious cup of coffee in a beautiful café. Let's just say the coffee and cakes are quite amazing in this part of the world! Oh, and speaking of beautiful things, how about the architecture? From the historic bridges, to the majestic Prague Castle, this city is a work of art! It's so inspirational to see such amazing historical buildings and structures - and then there's the magical charm of Prague’s Christmas Markets. Honestly, the entire city feels so festive and cheery.
And now, let's talk about tonight, my lovelies! Tonight, Prague is my stage. A little surprise performance, an evening dedicated to grace and beauty. As always, I'll be rocking my tutu – the shimmering powder pink one, just for this magical occasion. But tonight, I want to ask you all to share your favourite pink tutu moments. Let me know, using the hashtag #PinkTutuPrague, about the most memorable ballet performance you've seen, the best tutu you own or have ever seen, and what brings the joy of ballet into your life. Let's share the magic of dance! And don't forget, darling, that I'm always looking for more opportunities to spread the pink tutu joy.
Until next week, when I’ll be sharing another week in the world of Pink Tutu adventures!
Yours in twirling grace,
Emma xx
P.S.
Here's what I wore for my trip to Prague.
I decided to take on this journey in an absolutely charming and comfy vintage inspired outfit. It's made up of a beautiful lace blouse with floral accents which perfectly contrasts the classic elegance of the pale powder pink tutu that I purchased. To round it all off, I matched my tutu with an extra soft and silky pink cardigan, a luxurious way to stay warm and elegant in this beautiful country. As for my shoes, darling, my signature ballet pumps (you all know, those soft leather flats with a beautiful bow and delicate detailing) were just what the occasion called for! I accessorised with my delicate pink earrings, an amazing crystal bracelet that just sparkles in the light, and my trusty crossbody bag – just big enough to carry the essentials without disrupting the flow of my gorgeous pink tulle! What else would I be seen wearing in a city this beautiful and romantic?!
Oh, I forgot to tell you about my new purchase at a charming vintage store. It was so perfect, a little pastel pink beret! I adore it and already have plans to wear it to see a show. And last, but certainly not least, a must-have for every pink-loving ballerina in Prague - my amazing floral hairband in every shade of pink you could imagine. I simply had to buy it to add a special touch to my hair. Don't forget to comment below, darling, on what you think of the look. What would you have chosen for your first trip to Prague?!
This blog is my dedication to bringing the joy of dance and beautiful attire to everyone. I believe that a pink tutu makes the world a brighter and more stylish place. My journey to explore the world through ballet is just getting started, and I’d love for you all to join me for this magical ride!
