Prague Dreams in Pink: Post 1290 🩰💖🇨🇿

Hello, my darling dance devotees! It’s Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, here with another thrilling post from my travels! This week, I'm twirling through the cobbled streets and stunning architecture of Prague. A city where history and culture intertwine like a graceful ballet sequence!

I love arriving in a new city by train - it feels so much more romantic and atmospheric than arriving at an airport! So, naturally, I travelled to Prague on the overnight train from Munich. It's just that little bit extra magical, the clickety-clack of the wheels against the tracks as I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of graceful pirouettes and dazzling décors.

Oh, I almost forgot, I found the most glorious pink travel companion to help me navigate the beautiful, historic centre! A sweet, little, lavender grey pony with a heart of gold, and oh, the most perfectly matched pink satin saddle you have ever seen! It was quite the scene, a vision in pink making its way through the quaint streets of Prague.

Of course, Prague is known for its stunning architecture. From the iconic Charles Bridge with its enchanting views of the city to the breathtaking Prague Castle, perched atop a hill like a princess's dream. Everywhere I looked was a symphony of towers, spires, and pastel facades. Just like in a ballet set, I was truly transported into a magical world.

The Art of The Tutu: A Prague Adventure

But it’s not all about buildings! Prague has a vibrant arts scene. After my morning gallop, I headed for the Národní divadlo – the National Theatre - a truly beautiful building with such amazing history, and yes, of course, it was designed with a ballerina in mind - it is spectacular.

And what better way to embrace the Prague art scene than by diving into the ballet world? You wouldn't believe my luck - there was a performance by the National Ballet on the night I arrived. They were performing Swan Lake! This truly classic masterpiece is such a pleasure to watch, a timeless tale of love and loss woven through breath-taking choreography and exquisite artistry. I sat with my jaw practically on the floor - the performance was utterly breathtaking, filled with passionate emotion and incredible athleticism! It truly embodies the beauty and power of ballet!

Afterwards, it was time for a touch of fashion. Oh, darling! Prague has a fashion scene to die for! There were boutiques filled with exquisite lace, opulent velvets, and dreamy silks. After all, a perfect tutu calls for the most perfect attire, so I had to indulge. It’s all about the details, and this dress shop with its beautiful selection of tulle had the perfect look for tonight’s ballet show, I was totally mesmerised. A silky ivory blouse that I’m just going to throw on with some floaty pink trousers. Now, what shoes to choose!

The last detail needed is my favourite tutu. A vision of delicate tulle with a hint of sparkle – it’s a truly exquisite masterpiece, wouldn’t you agree? After my shopping haul, it was a quick waltz through the old town and a delicious dinner with local Czech specialties (with a generous helping of goulash - yes please!).

Then, with a final sweep of mascara and a sprinkle of shimmer powder, I was off to experience the most beautiful performance by the National Ballet – Romeo and Juliet. I adore this classic ballet - the emotion is palpable! It really brings the play to life, particularly for the final act, the grand finale with Juliet taking her own life and then the death of Romeo, beautifully portrayed by the dancers.

I have to admit - seeing such talented dancers effortlessly glide across the stage ignited a fire in my soul. A true inspiration. Now I know you are all thinking, "Well Emma, what are you doing tomorrow, what tutu have you got planned, what's in the bag? What do you think about Prague, love it or hate it?

Tune in tomorrow to find out!!
