Prague in Pink: Post 1295
Hello darlings! Itās Wednesday, which means itās time for another adventure in pink, straight from the cobbled streets of Prague! Iām Emma, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, and this week, Iām swirling through the city of a thousand spires in a confection of blush tulle and vibrant florals ā because, darling, life is too short to be anything less than pink-tastic!
You may be wondering how I, a simple ballet dancer from Derbyshire, find myself on the cobblestones of Prague? Well, dear readers, the magic of the stage allows me to travel the world, spreading the love of dance and tutus in equal measure.
My journey started on a train ā the kind of vintage carriage straight out of a fairytale. You see, there's nothing more glamorous than the wind in your hair and the scenery blurring by, especially when youāre in your favourite, most dazzling, tutu. Itās like gliding across the land on a tutu-shaped cloud! But thatās a story for another day ā this time, Prague beckons with its elegant architecture and the tantalising scent of freshly baked pastries.
Now, let's talk about fashion! Darling, I don't know what it is about Prague but this city screams style. I mean, just imagine it: an 18th century bridge draped with charming pastel houses, buzzing cafes spilling onto cobbled streets, and, oh darling, the stores! So much divine vintage, so many pastel fabricsā¦ This is where I had to let out my inner bohemian goddess.
First, a stop at the charming antique shop I discovered on a hidden back street. I call this little find "The Tutu Emporium." Okay, thatās not the real name ā it's just some boring old "Vintage Emporium," but darling, in my head it's where all my sartorial dreams come true! I found the most divine blush-hued beret (yes, dear readers, Iām bringing berets back, you heard it here first!), a pair of stunning cream lace gloves, and, best of all, the cutest vintage teacup adorned with delicate forget-me-nots that just scream āEmmaā. Itās going to look fabulous in my upcoming ātea with a ballerinaā Instagram shoot ā more about that later!
Of course, no visit to Prague would be complete without a wander through the iconic Charles Bridge. Every inch is a work of art! A kaleidoscope of sculptures, galleries filled with whimsical art, street performers making musicā¦ Oh, and a handsome gentleman selling miniature porcelain tutus, of course. I couldn't resist purchasing one as a reminder of this truly enchanting city!
The evening was for culture and a real treat ā The National Theatre of Prague is absolutely stunning, a masterpiece of neo-renaissance architecture. This time, I found myself drawn to a production of Swan Lake. It was breathtaking! The intricate sets, the flawless dancers, the soaring melodiesā¦ my heart was in the clouds. There's a special magic in sharing that love of ballet with others, and as I watched the ballerina, I couldn't help but feel that she was sharing a piece of her soul. Oh, darling, and of course, I took the opportunity to twirl a few times, making the audience's hearts melt (it worked).
As I pen this blog post, the day's adventures continue to echo in my mind. I find myself drifting into daydreams ā Pragueās charm and my blush pink beret are an irresistible combination, like a whimsical fairytale in full bloom. Darling, let's paint the world pink, one tutu at a time! And remember: no matter where life takes you, always embrace your inner ballerina. After all, who wouldn't want to twirl through life with the confidence and grace of a swan?
Stay pink, my darlings,
Emma
