Pink Tutu Prague: #1300

Oh, darling! Hello from Prague! The city that feels like a dream. This place is truly magical. So many gorgeous, intricate, historic buildings and a beautiful energy humming through the cobblestone streets. The architecture here is like nothing I’ve ever seen and even better? It's bursting with colour! Imagine a world where every building is painted with glorious shades of pastel pink and a thousand shades of green, lilac, lemon, peach, cream, lilac, and ochre!

Prague is the very essence of fairytale beauty, with castles peeking from hilltops, swans gliding in the Vltava River, and the city bathed in a warm glow as the sun dips low. The magic isn't just visual; it's in the air itself! It makes you want to spin around in your most twirly pink tutu and sing at the top of your lungs, doesn't it? Which, I shall do, as soon as I find a nice public spot to show off my latest creation! 😉

Arriving in Prague on the Flying Horse

Now, to get here, I took the train, darling! And not just any train. Oh no. I went for the luxury! The legendary Prague train known affectionately as the "Flying Horse". (I believe the official name is the Prague Express? Sounds less fun, don't you think?)

This magnificent beast is sleek, fast and opulent. Leather seats, mahogany wood paneling, chandeliers sparkling like the finest jewels. A dream for a fashion-loving girl! I sipped tea and read about the history of Prague in my favourite fluffy pink bunny slippers, just waiting to burst out in pirouettes the moment the train slowed into the station.

The journey was so exciting, darling! I waved at the beautiful rolling countryside whizzing past and admired all the friendly ponies roaming through the fields. One even looked over and blinked at me!

Pink Tutu Adventures: A Ballet Lovers Paradise

You wouldn’t believe what my lucky pink tutu and I got up to today, darlings! A full ballet day, just for me!

The Ballet Academy: A Place of Elegance

I visited a glorious, old-world ballet academy nestled in a cobblestone courtyard. This place, my love, felt straight out of a fairy tale! Gilt detailing, high windows letting in rays of golden sunlight. A grand chandelier tinkling merrily.

The class itself was pure delight! The air crackled with a delicate energy. Graceful girls in shimmering white leotards were effortlessly gliding across the polished floor. The teachers had a strictness laced with elegance, and the whole atmosphere radiated a passion for the art.

As a bonus? The students welcomed me into their class. I think I surprised a few with my pink tutu, but then I gave a quick little twirl. Let’s just say they were absolutely captivated! So, naturally, I led a little tutu workshop. It’s not a real class until you've practised with the pink tutu! It makes every pirouette look a hundred times better! A beautiful dancer, with lovely eyes the colour of a bluebird's wing, whispered "it makes you feel like a princess.”

I couldn’t agree more. That, my dears, is precisely why I started this website! The power of the pink tutu is truly magic!

Prague Ballet Company - A Modern Dance Extravaganza

As the sun went down, my tutu and I, darling, set off to the Prague National Theatre. And what a magnificent sight it was! This place exudes opulence! A fairytale-esque building, perched on the banks of the Vltava, casting a gorgeous reflection in the water! I just had to grab my phone and capture the majestic skyline with the sunset behind it.

The theatre performance, though? Let’s just say the Prague Ballet company absolutely blew my mind! The show was full of modern, dynamic moves, and bold, beautiful interpretations of classic pieces, all done with an almost athletic energy, so incredibly modern, yet so elegant!

The dancers were a true delight, darlings. With amazing grace and talent, their movements filled the stage with breathtaking drama. They danced with a fierceness and fluidity, which resonated so beautifully with their interpretation of the classic story of Don Juan.

One particular dancer – oh, darling, I could just gush! A handsome young man who moved with a charisma that absolutely captivated me. With incredible precision, he swirled and leapt, and I felt my heart do a pirouette! I later saw him outside of the theatre. I must say, I’m still thinking about him!

Shopping for Ballet Splendour

Prague's shops, my darling, are a complete dream! Especially for ballet fans. I've lost hours wandering through streets lined with boutiques bursting with dazzling displays of gorgeous, opulent ballet shoes, tutus, costumes and accessories. I have a tiny but very cute shoe problem, you know? And I must admit, this city is absolutely pushing that weakness to its limit!

Of course, it wasn't just ballet, darlings! I treated myself to some stunningly embroidered pink accessories for my tutu. A beaded scarf with exquisite sparkly butterflies and a set of feathered pink hair clips. I love finding gorgeous things for my tutu that can’t be found just anywhere. Oh, and darling, the pink feathered shawl! It’s just too darling, so very soft and simply perfect for adding an air of fairytale extravagance to a basic, elegant outfit.

And to my immense delight, I finally managed to track down that special tutu! That vintage tutu I've been looking for for ages. You know the one I was telling you about in my last post? The pink, feather boa trimmed, three layered tutu, from a vintage shop nestled behind the Old Town Square! I just had to snatch it up the moment I saw it. Oh, darling! The feeling of it on! So dreamy, so romantic! It felt like the stars were dancing on my tutu, as I pirouetted through the cobblestone streets.

Pink Tutu Treats: Indulging in Deliciousness

Prague, darlings, is a total culinary adventure. I simply have to share with you my discoveries!

We had dinner at this amazing restaurant nestled right next to Prague's grand Old Town Square. I dined on the most heavenly dumplings. Oh my goodness! They just melted in my mouth. And my eyes? They absolutely popped when they brought out a delicious blueberry cheesecake for dessert! And you wouldn't believe the coffee, my darling! It was brewed to absolute perfection!

Then, my love, came the most gorgeous ice cream. This delightful place tucked away on a little alley street called the "Gingerbread House", and true to its name, their ice cream is absolute gingerbread perfection. They even have the sweetest pink-tinged sorbet, called the "pink dream." You really must try it.

A Word From The Pink Tutu: Don't Just Look, Be Part Of It!

As I sit here, watching the beautiful Prague sky turn pink and dreaming about how my new vintage tutu would look floating across the Charles Bridge, a little message has come to me from the pink tutu itself.

*"Don’t be a wallflower, my darling! Don't be afraid to be yourself. It’s not just about looking good in the tutu; it’s about wearing it with joy, with confidence, and expressing your unique spark.” *

So, I urge you all, wherever you are, embrace your inner twirl and dare to wear your pink tutu with pride, darlings.

Love, Emma, the Pink Tutu Lady.
