Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Bohemian Dream (Post 1304)
Hello, lovelies! š©°
Welcome to another adventure from the Pink Tutu blog! This week I'm waltzing into your inbox straight from the cobblestone streets of Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires! And you'll never guess what... it's positively overflowing with inspiration for my favourite pink tutu!
Last week, you may recall, I was twirling through the cobbled alleys of enchanting [previous location name, city]. (But shh! That was all in my last blog. Remember to catch up, itās full of frocks and frolics!) Anyway, this week Iāve travelled by... wait for it... train, yes a train! And not just any train! A majestic, sleek silver bullet whisked me through the countryside, past rolling hills, golden fields and little, storybook towns straight to this enchanting, history-soaked city.
Now, you all know my motto, darling: āIf thereās a pink tutu, thereās a Pink Tutu blog!ā Well, Prague is practically begging for a pink tutu. Imagine a pink tulle cloud swirling down those ancient bridges over the Vltava River! Just picture the shimmering, fairytale loveliness of Prague castle set against the perfect backdrop of a tutu made of a thousand little pink blossoms. **
Let's talk about that tutu... oh, darling, the choices are endless! The* shimmering sequins and gossamer lightness* would complement Pragueās romantic charm perfectly! You all know my favourite pink is a* bright bubblegum shade, just like those sugary waffles they sell at the market square* !
But wait, Prague is a city of many facets: grand, medieval squares, mystical alleys, elegant baroque churchesā¦ I could easily see myself twirling down those cobbled streets wearing a fluffy pink tutu, maybe one with a sparkly bodice that chimes like a tiny, pretty wind chime! Oh darling, the possibilities for pink tutus are truly endless!
*Of course, what's Prague without some *truly sensational shopping?! **
Pragueās boutiques and markets are an absolute delight, bursting with everything that a girl on the go could possibly desire. Thereās lace, ribbons, vintage treasures, beads, silks, exquisite hand-painted fabrics - every fabric I can possibly imagine to make that perfect pink tutu!
And then, my darlings, the Czech crystalā¦ oh myā¦ itās like being transported to a fairytale with glittering, bejeweled butterflies fluttering over meadows of twinkling rainbows! Imagine adding a crystal tiara to your pink tutuā¦ oh the dreaminess!
Oh darling, the beauty of Prague... Iām almost speechless, itās utterly divine! Every corner unveils a hidden masterpiece, every street unfolds another enchanting viewā¦
Let me take you on a quick virtual tour. (Donāt you just adore these little virtual tour interludes in my posts?!)
1. Charles Bridge
Let me paint you a sceneā¦ The sun is setting, casting an orange glow over the Vltava River. Iām standing on the Charles Bridge, looking at the ornate architecture on either side of me, and you know what I'm doing? Iām taking the most amazing photo of myself in my pink tutu for my Instagram story, naturally. (But do check my full Instagram feed when you have a moment ā because all the pics of this magical day are up on my feed, I promise!) The Charles Bridge is truly awe-inspiring, and it has so much to see - from Baroque statues lining the bridge, to incredible views of the Old Town Square and Prague Castle.
2. Prague Castle
Letās journey back to the medieval age! Oh, darling! Just imagining my pink tutu set against this historical marvel has my imagination twirling! Prague Castle is a sight to behold: soaring spires, mighty rampartsā¦ and did I mention gorgeous gardens? Thereās so much to explore, from the cathedral and the royal residence to the Golden Lane. I cannot wait to twirl around these glorious old courtyards! I already see the pink tulle cascading behind me as I skip from one spot to another... (you know what that means - Pink Tutu pics on my next blog, darling!).
3. Old Town Square
Now, this square is a vibrant hub where time seems to stand still, and it's alive with so much history. The majestic Astronomical Clock ā with its figures prancing every hour ā the iconic Tyn Churchā¦ I can already see myself swishing my pink tutu as I watch the clockās astrological display from a cafe window, with the sweet scent of roasted nuts and warm pastry swirling around meā¦ just pure bliss, darling.
Now, for this weekās Ballet Focus.
You see, my darlings, Pragueās got an absolute *thriving ballet scene! And when I said thriving, Iām talking flamenco-style thriving! They just love a little flamenco dancing here, so the ballet here has an incredible vibrancy, a fiery zest that absolutely sparks those pink tutu feels!
I mean, where else can you see such beautifully woven artistry? Itās no surprise that the* Czech Republic boasts several exceptional ballet companies. They have incredible productions at Prague State Opera and the National Theatreā¦ all absolutely begging for some *tutu action, donāt you think?
For my first night in this city of a thousand sparkling lights I treated myself to an evening performance of Don Quixote. And what a delight it was! I mean, talk about whimsical, talk about romantic. And those costumes! My pink tutu heart absolutely fluttered when I saw those fantastically designed tutus on stage - full of delicate flowers, bright satin, and exquisite, elegant patterns that perfectly complemented the flamenco energy of this wonderful show.
Now, donāt tell everyone this little secret - but after the show, I slipped behind the stage (always on the lookout for an extraordinary ballet tutu), and had the most fantastic chat with a very lovely costume designer about the history of tutus (it's my favourite part of a ballet, I have to admit).
It turns out sheās just fascinated with vintage tutus. We chatted for ages about all sorts of things, including the fascinating history of ballet fashion, how the tutu evolved, the various styles of tutus throughout the ages ā everything a true pink tutu fan would want to hear! She even offered to let me try on some of her older, truly spectacular pieces ā which was an honour of the highest order.
What was even more fantastic, she showed me her sketchbook ā the page was filled with the most breathtaking tutu designs, some brightly coloured and modern, some sleek and streamlined. Oh darling! They had such imagination and sparkled with such creative genius - they reminded me of the amazing stained glass I saw at the Tyn Church earlier that morning (itās truly breathtaking!)
Oh! Now I have to go, the train to my next stop in [next city destination, country] leaves tomorrow - itās going to be quite the journey! And oh, donāt you worry... Iāll bring back a blog post with even more pink tutu inspiration!
Until next week darling! Remember, let's keep spreading that pink tutu love everywhere we go!
With a giggle and a twirl,
Emma
