Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Bliss in the City of a Hundred Spires - Post #1310
Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another instalment of my Pink Tutu Prague adventures. As I'm sitting in my hotel room, a wave of excitement is washing over me! Today's been packed with all the pinkest of pink things: a dazzling ballet performance, a delectable pastry filled afternoon tea, and even a chance to get lost in the whimsical streets of Prague.
Before I tell you all about it, though, I want to introduce you to Prague, the city that’s captured my heart. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love exploring cities on foot. Prague is the epitome of a walkable city – every corner you turn reveals another breathtaking vista. Whether it’s the gothic charm of Charles Bridge, the majestic Prague Castle, or the whimsical maze of cobbled alleys, you’ll feel like you've stepped straight into a fairytale.
Oh, and did I mention the colours? Prague is a palette explosion of warm browns, vibrant ochre, and a dazzling sky blue. Everywhere I turn, I see these colours reflecting in the Vltava river, which winds its way through the heart of the city. It’s enough to inspire even the most jaded fashionista, wouldn’t you agree?
But today, my journey wasn't solely focused on soaking up the sights. Today was all about ballet! And what a treat it was! You know how much I adore a good ballet performance - there's nothing like the thrill of the pirouettes, the artistry of the leaps, the grace of the port de bras – all set against the backdrop of exquisite costumes and soaring music. Today, I watched Swan Lake in the stunning National Theatre, which itself is a masterpiece of architecture. The theatre’s stunning chandeliers, elegant interiors and intricate gilded decor created an atmosphere that felt truly magical. And then there was the performance itself! Oh my goodness, the beauty of it all - from the ethereal beauty of the swan queen to the intricate footwork of the swans, to the fierce dance of the evil prince, every movement left me utterly captivated.
Of course, a good performance needs a good outfit, right? This week, I was rocking a delicate pale pink tutu, paired with a fitted white top, and my favourite ruby-red heels. You could say it was my own Swan Lake inspired look, don’t you think? The only thing missing was my sparkly fairy wand!
After the performance, I felt invigorated, my mind and soul in a kind of dreamy, post-ballet daze. I found myself wandering the quaint, narrow streets of Old Town Prague, past street performers strumming lively melodies and children giggling at the antics of puppet shows. The city buzzed with life, its heart beating to the rhythm of the cobblestones and the lively conversation echoing from cafe terraces.
But my journey didn’t end there. After the theatre, I took a horse-drawn carriage, a classic and truly romantic way to discover the beauty of Prague. Sitting comfortably, I imagined myself as a noble lady from a bygone era, surrounded by the fairytale city. The streets themselves, with their majestic buildings and their picturesque nooks, seem like they belong in a scene from a classic fairytale, a scene of elegance and romance.
Later that day, I went to an old-world cafe tucked away in a little courtyard for a spot of afternoon tea. My table was set for royalty! Imagine dainty floral china, steaming cups of tea and delicate cakes and pastries - it felt like stepping out of an Agatha Christie novel! As I sipped my tea, I tried a little of each pastry. It was like a mini-marathon of pure sugary bliss – each bite was bursting with sweetness and a flavour I’ve never tasted before.
Now, I'm off to bed. Another amazing day in Prague is drawing to a close, but there are more adventures in store! Stay tuned for next Wednesday, as I share even more about my experiences in this incredible city!
