Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1328

Wednesday 18th November 2020

Dearest Tutu-Lovers!

Hello from Prague! This enchanting city, with its cobblestone streets and majestic architecture, has been a total dream! I canā€™t even tell you how many gorgeous pink buildings Iā€™ve seen, Iā€™ve barely had time to explore everything because Iā€™ve been snapping pics for Insta.

And, to make my stay even more magical, I had the pleasure of seeing a truly stunning ballet performance last night! You know how much I love the theatre and the magic of ballet, and Prague truly delivers.

But first, let's rewind to the start of the week, because let's be honest, travelling in style is part of the fun! I hopped on a lovely red double-decker bus, feeling like a glamorous little ballerina princess. And oh, the journey! Lush green meadows, picturesque villages, and fields filled with pumpkins (still haven't found the perfect pumpkin for a tutu, but I'm working on it). The perfect start to my adventure!

The first stop: shopping, naturally! There's no place like Prague for finding gorgeous fashion. This week I'm feeling so vintage-chic and the shops here are positively bursting with inspiration! You see, when I travel, I try to embrace the local flavour. Prague, with its history, screams out vintage charm and I'm positively besotted with their amazing selection of vintage lace dresses and delicate floral fabrics. And of course, the colours! Pink abounds, as does navy and gold. Just heavenly.

But shopping, lovely as it is, wasn't the main event. Oh no, last night was all about ballet! My little heart practically danced in my chest when I stepped into the magnificent National Theatre. A masterpiece of neo-renaissance architecture!

I've always been in love with ballet. As a child, my Mum had me in ballet classes from a young age. I even started wearing tutus from the very beginning! Every time I see a ballet, I'm reminded of why it's such an inspiring art form, so elegant and so captivating.

This performance was even more special. It was a new interpretation of ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€, full of creativity and beautiful movement. The stage was breathtakingly ornate with traditional Christmas dĆ©cor and, you guessed it, gorgeous pink hues throughout the set design. It just warmed the heart!

During the intermission, I snuck off to grab a coffee (always essential, as you all know) and did some window shopping for souvenirs, oh my! This gorgeous boutique was overflowing with pretty pink trinkets and I had to take a picture for my Tutu-Lovers to share my experience. I even bought myself a gorgeous pink velvet crown for a fun selfie - what do you think?

You know whatā€™s fun? While I was wandering around, I heard some classical music playing! Turns out there was a group of dancers practising in the square near my hotel! And would you believe it - some of them were wearing tutus! This gorgeous purple tutu in particular caught my eye. It reminded me so much of my childhood, trying on my sisterā€™s old tutu and prancing around the living room, pretending to be a ballerina on stage. I took a video to post for all of you. So enchanting!

Now, I donā€™t know about you, but Prague really does inspire me. The cobblestones are almost like stage steps leading up to the grand history of this city. I could wander its enchanting streets for days, lost in the magic of every nook and cranny.

But today, I have another grand plan! This afternoon I'm meeting a local ballet teacher who is going to give me a private lesson in Czech dance! I'm thrilled, I'm picturing it - swirling waltzes, beautiful costumes, a tutu, a stage! What could be more inspiring?!

It wouldnā€™t be a perfect day in Prague without experiencing its food. This evening, I'm going to try this fantastic new vegetarian restaurant called ā€œThe Green Spoonā€. I've heard it's divine, and after all that ballet and exploring, I need all the energy I can get. And you can be sure there will be photos - can't let you miss out!

So, Tutu-Lovers, stay tuned! My Prague adventures are just getting started! Iā€™m ready for a week filled with more magnificent architecture, inspiring dance, and delicious treats, all in my favorite pink hues.

Remember, wear your pink tutus, embrace your inner ballerina, and Iā€™ll see you next Wednesday for another post from Prague.

Love and pirouettes,

Emma xx
