Prague-fectly Pink: Tutu-ing Around the Czech Capital!
Blog Post #1366
Wednesday, 11th August 2021
Hello darlings, and welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com, where tutus are life and pink is the only colour! This week, I'm taking you on a whirl through the enchanting city of Prague!
From Derbyshire, where cobblestones and charming country lanes are a norm, Prague is a breathtaking change of pace! I’ve arrived by train, of course, a wonderfully romantic journey through the heart of Europe. Every station, a potential photo opportunity for the gram! And let me tell you, a tutu and train travel – now that's a winning combo. The other travellers seemed quite fascinated with my pink, feathered creation, and I did a little impromptu performance, showing them how tutus can liven up even the most ordinary journey!
The Pink-Tutu Guide to Prague
The moment I arrived, I was captivated. It feels like stepping back in time, a fairytale brought to life. From the grand, castle-like buildings to the cobblestone streets and charming squares, the whole city seems to whisper "tutu" in every corner! Prague is a city steeped in history, a vibrant melting pot of culture, and oh-so-photogenic. In short, a ballet dancer's dream come true!
Prague National Theatre - My Tutu Love Affair with the City's Soul
Right off the bat, I made a beeline for the National Theatre, a masterpiece of Czech architecture. Stepping inside felt like a true time travel – the opulent décor, the chandeliers glimmering, and the air itself thick with history and artistry. My heart, of course, was set on a ballet performance. This is a city, after all, where ballet is deeply ingrained in the very essence of its soul.
Tutu-ful Time Travel:
There was something truly enchanting about seeing the ballet come alive within the walls of a building that has witnessed so much change. The music, the dancers, the light – they all seemed to whisper secrets of bygone eras. Afterward, I slipped into a glamorous little tea shop just a stone's throw from the theatre and reminisced over the beauty of it all, with a warm cup of chai in hand. A touch of Prague magic!
The Dance of Prague's Streets:
Beyond the theatres, Prague itself seems to dance! Every street corner holds a secret rhythm. Walking the winding pathways around the Old Town Square, surrounded by beautiful pastel buildings, I swear I felt the rhythm of the city in my feet! Of course, I was twirling and swaying with every step – a tutu's natural response to such enchantment.
Finding Inspiration: Czech Fashion Flair
It wouldn’t be a true Emma blog post without some fashion inspiration! I've been finding some seriously stunning pieces in the city's vintage boutiques – little lace dresses with intricate detailing, and luxurious fabrics like velvet and satin. Oh, the outfits I could create! I can imagine the Parisian-esque vibes, mixed with a hint of fairytale princess… Prague is definitely inspiring my inner stylist!
Prance With the Ponies: An Unexpected Tutu Adventure!
Let’s just say I took a rather unexpected detour this morning! The cobblestone streets beckoned me to venture a little further away from the city's centre. And guess who I stumbled upon? Yes, ponies! Not just any ponies – a quaint little stable just outside Prague. Of course, I had to saddle up for a graceful trot through the fields! Riding a horse, and my own tutu, is a real confidence booster!
Tonight's Ballet Spectacle: A Timeless Treat!
Tonight, it’s back to the National Theatre for an exquisite ballet performance. I can't wait to experience another enchanting tale brought to life through the power of dance and music! I’m particularly looking forward to the costumes – Czech design is renowned for its beautiful, intricate work. I’m expecting lots of sequins and stunning silhouettes – just what a girl like me loves!
From Tutu to Dinner:
And after the show, I’m treating myself to a lovely Czech dinner, complete with a glass of Czech wine. A truly fabulous end to another perfect Prague day.
Pink Tutu Tip: The Czech Republic boasts a wealth of fascinating museums dedicated to the history of fashion and art. Don't miss a visit to the National Gallery to witness some stunning artworks, many featuring exquisite fashion from the 18th and 19th centuries. A tutu's paradise!
Pink Tutu Takeaway:
Prague is a place where history and fashion meet, where the air vibrates with artistry, and where the charm of the past whispers its stories to anyone willing to listen. This city, in its enchanting way, encourages us all to tap into our own inner ballerina, to twirl with joy, and to embrace life with a vibrant splash of pink and a sprinkle of tulle!
Until next week, lovelies, stay twirling and keep shining!
