Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Bliss in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #1379)

Hello, darling dancers!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, back from another magical trip! This week, I've found myself waltzing through the cobbled streets of Prague, a city overflowing with charm, history, and of course, a sprinkling of that undeniable Parisian je ne sais quoi!

As you know, my heart beats to the rhythm of tutus and ballet, and this trip has been no exception. Prague's got a captivating ballet scene, so this week's post is bursting with details about all the breathtaking shows I've been lucky enough to see. I even took a ballet class at a gorgeous studio, complete with a chandelier that glittered like a million pink diamonds! But let's back up a little, shall we?

A Whimsical Journey

Leaving my little Derbyshire cottage, I decided to take a leisurely train journey across Europe. There's something so enchanting about the gentle sway of the train and the breathtaking landscapes whizzing past. This time, I travelled on a stunningly vintage carriage, its plush velvet seats a beautiful shade of ruby. (I might have worn a tutu, naturally!)

Speaking of tutus, this trip I've been going for a classic pink tulle confection. Think airy layers, delicately ruffled edges, and a smattering of hand-stitched pearls. I know you lovely lot are itching for some new pink tutu inspiration, so expect plenty of photos in this post! I have to say, my new pink tutu is so divine! A real showstopper!

A Dream in the Czech Capital

Arriving in Prague, I felt an instant connection to the city. The architecture is something else. The winding alleyways, the stunning gothic spires, the little cobblestone bridges… It's as if Prague itself has stepped straight out of a fairytale!

And that's before I even discovered the wonderful shopping! This city is a haven for vintage treasures, with boutiques crammed full of luxurious fabrics, sparkling jewels, and those chic Parisian hats I can't resist. Let's just say, my luggage has already taken a dramatic upsizing – sorry, bank balance!

Ballet Beyond Compare

Of course, ballet is the main reason for my trip! My first ballet night was at the National Theatre, a glorious, grand venue that could only be described as the pinnacle of Parisian chic. It's no surprise that it's a National treasure, truly breathtaking. The performance was Giselle, one of my all-time favourites. You all know how I adore a classic, especially a romantic one! The ballerinas' lightness, grace, and precision left me utterly breathless. It's amazing how these artists seem to float, defy gravity, with such emotional power.

The next night, I headed to the State Opera. A rather decadent theatre, its interiors sparkling with gold, the most delicious shade of champagne gold. You wouldn't be surprised that my new pink tutu perfectly matched! This night it was The Nutcracker and I must admit, it was the most mesmerising performance I've seen in a long time. The music, the sets, the costuming, it was just magical!

And then, my ballet adventure went in a slightly different direction. I'm lucky enough to be travelling with my best friend, the one and only Alice, a phenomenal horse rider and my absolute bestie! Alice, being the wonderful person she is, decided it was time to bring a little equestrian charm to our trip, so we booked a delightful ride through the Czech countryside. The setting sun over the green rolling hills, a warm wind whipping through our hair as we galloped along… I can't tell you how freeing it felt, riding amongst those charming meadows. It reminded me that sometimes, it's important to step away from the confines of the stage and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world.

A Pink Tutu Princess In Prague

As if I needed a further dose of inspiration, I even treated myself to a ballet class! I found the most delightful studio, hidden in a quaint courtyard, and it was an absolute dream. Imagine yourself surrounded by intricate, vintage tapestries, sun-soaked balconies with lush green ivy climbing the walls, and – oh, my goodness! – a huge, glimmering chandelier that had me swooning. I can't even tell you the detail that went into that ballet studio! It would make even the most refined Parisian ballet dancers gasp.

I practiced my turns, my leaps, my arabesques, feeling my inner ballerina blooming. And of course, I made sure my pink tutu was perfectly positioned. As you all know, it wouldn't be a ballet class without the perfect tutu, would it?

Now, if you're thinking, "How do you afford all these extravagant ballet trips, Emma?" Well, let's just say, I've always got a performance planned, be it a fundraiser for a local charity or a grand gala at the most magnificent venues. And all of those fabulous pink tutus have made an appearance on stage too!

So, if you’re ever visiting the beautiful City of a Hundred Spires, make sure you add ballet to your itinerary. You're never far from a breathtaking show in this city and trust me, Prague will capture your heart!
