Prague: Where Dreams Twirl in Pink! 🩰💕 (Blog Post #1381)

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu Princess, reporting live from the magical city of Prague! This week, I'm positively bursting with excitement – not just because I'm in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, but also because I've been indulging in all things ballet and tutus!

Before we dive into the twirling fun, I want to give a shout-out to all my lovely readers for supporting my adventures. Your enthusiasm and love for pink tutus fuels my every trip. Thanks to all the gigs I've been doing – from gala performances to a few little stints in the local ballet company in Derbyshire – I’m finally living my dream of touring the world and spreading the joy of ballet and the love of the fabulous pink tutu!

Now, back to Prague! This city truly captures the romanticism of old Europe. Cobblestone streets, gothic architecture, and fairytale-esque bridges – Prague is like a setting straight out of a ballet production!

This week, I embarked on a journey of discovery, exploring everything ballet-related in this enchanting city. Here's a glimpse into my Prague diary:

A Waltz Through Ballet History

My first stop? The captivating National Theatre. I can't tell you how much I love the grand old theatres with their ornate carvings and red velvet seats – the setting just adds to the magic of any performance. This theatre boasts a rich history of opera, theatre, and yes, you guessed it, ballet! I spent hours poring over old photographs of the company dancers, each one a vision of elegance and grace. I even spotted a couple of ladies wearing tutus! I may have even gasped with admiration.

A Tutu for Every Occasion

A ballet lover can't possibly visit a new city without a little retail therapy, can they? So, I decided to treat myself to some new tutu treasures at the local markets. And let me tell you, Prague’s got some stunning finds!

I snagged a delightful vintage pink tutu adorned with delicate beading - perfect for a gala evening. For daytime chic, I picked up a crisp white tutu, and for a touch of bohemian charm, a flowing, gauzy tutu in a dreamy lavender hue.

I couldn’t resist popping into a few designer boutiques, where I found some magnificent, modern interpretations of the traditional tutu. There were metallics, textures, and a truly dazzling array of colours! The temptation to snap them all up was strong, but I reminded myself that my travel bag can't fit the entire inventory. 😉

Tutus Under the Prague Sky

And now, for the grand finale! The highlight of my Prague trip – a breathtaking ballet performance at the historic Estates Theatre.

The programme was a medley of classical and modern pieces, each one more captivating than the last. I was especially enthralled by the “Giselle” pas de deux. The ballerinas were absolutely phenomenal, gliding through the stage like feathers on the wind.

After the show, I chatted with some of the dancers (of course I wore my most flattering pink tutu for the occasion!) - so inspiring!

And the Verdict?

Prague: a haven for ballet lovers, fashionistas, and anyone seeking a touch of European romance. The city has woven a spell on me, leaving me breathless with its beauty and enchantment.

I can’t wait to explore more of Prague’s hidden gems – perhaps I'll even find some more lovely tutus tucked away in an antique shop or learn a few ballet steps in the local park. I may just inspire a few locals to join me in the tutu revolution! 😉

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling and don't forget to embrace the pink!

With love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
