Prague: A Whirlwind of Romance, Romance, and... Pink Tutùs! (Blog Post #1410)
Hello, my lovely tutu-loving friends! Emma here, reporting live from the enchanting city of Prague. It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another edition of my beloved Prague blog. As you know, I'm a bit obsessed with pink tutus (it's in the name, darling!), but Prague has really blown me away with its charm, its cobblestone streets, and its rich history. I feel like I've stepped into a fairy tale, but with an even greater appreciation for the sartorial elegance of past eras!
Now, you all know that I fund my travels through ballet performances. It's a hard life, but someone has to spread the gospel of tutus around the world, and I'm more than happy to oblige! This week I performed with the local company at the National Theatre, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The theatre itself is stunning, with exquisite ornate decor and an atmosphere that just screams "ballerina" (with a healthy dose of pink, of course!).
But back to Prague, darlings. There's a reason it's called the "City of a Hundred Spires". The architecture here is phenomenal, with the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the Old Town Square all boasting such impressive detail and beauty. Honestly, you could lose yourself in the romantic grandeur of it all. Speaking of romance, Prague has a unique aura that makes even the most cynical heart swoon. Perhaps it's the charming cafes, or the twinkle lights strung across the winding streets, but there's a sense of magic in the air that's hard to resist.
Now, I haven't mentioned fashion yet. Can you believe it? Well, I wouldn't dream of writing a post about Prague without gushing over its vintage shops. I've been shopping till my toes have turned to tap shoes, and I've unearthed some truly incredible pieces! Imagine, dear friends, a dusty velvet jacket with the most delicate lace, paired with a pair of cherry-red silk gloves and a beret adorned with a delicate feather. I couldn't resist, naturally. It just screamed "Prague fashionista"!
And speaking of fashion, you all know how much I adore tutus. Now, Prague's tutu history is fascinating! Did you know that the city had a very strong ballet tradition dating back to the 17th century? The Prague Ballet School, founded in the 18th century, played a major role in spreading ballet education across Europe, which I find so exciting! While I haven't found a single antique pink tutu during my vintage adventures, I can only imagine what exquisite pieces graced Prague's grand stages back in the day.
Of course, I've been exploring the modern ballet scene here as well. This Wednesday, I have a ticket to see the National Theatre's production of Swan Lake. Can you believe it? I've never seen Swan Lake in Prague! They say it's a must-see, and I have to admit, I'm practically giddy with anticipation. After the show, I'm planning to enjoy some local delicacies with a group of fellow tutu enthusiasts - my new friends from the ballet school!
If you ever visit Prague, you must try a traditional Trdelník. It's a sweet dough pastry, rolled around a spit and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Oh my, I could eat a dozen of these delicious treats, they are so heavenly. And if you're looking for the perfect outfit to match your Prague adventure, look no further than my very own website, pink-tutu.com. From sequined pink tutus to fluffy ballet slippers, I have something for every fashion-loving ballerina. And of course, I'm constantly adding new pieces inspired by my travels and the gorgeous cities I visit.
So, to conclude this week's blog, darling readers, Prague has really enchanted me. From the breathtaking architecture to the delicious cuisine, the city has exceeded my expectations. But of course, my favourite part has to be the abundance of tutus!
