Hello my darling readers! It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, writing to you from the heart of Prague. Yes, you heard that right! I've swapped the cobbled streets of Derbyshire for the charming, historical streets of this breathtaking city. This week, I'm on a mission: to see everything Prague has to offer through the eyes of a ballet-loving, pink tutu-wearing girl!
Let's be honest, I’m a little late to the Prague party. This beautiful city has been topping every "must-see" travel list for years, and I’ve been hankering after its historic architecture and fairytale atmosphere for ages. I can't believe it's taken me so long to come! But, here I am, ready to embrace the magic of Prague with open arms (and of course, my signature pink tutu)!
A Trip by Train & Pony 🚆🦄
This adventure kicked off with a train journey, the ultimate romantic way to travel, in my opinion. As the train rattled across the countryside, I indulged in a good book (it had to be a ballet-related biography, of course!), sipped on some chamomile tea (don't worry, it came with pink and white floral embellishments!), and dreamt about all the pink tutu wonders that awaited me in Prague.
Now, I know you're all thinking, "Emma, you've just said train journey... but what about the pony?" Well, darling, I can't forget to mention my furry travel buddy. He's my trusty sidekick, always by my side, even when I'm globe-trotting. In this case, my dear pony made the journey to Prague via van, as horses and train journeys don't quite mix, haha! He'll be waiting for me here, enjoying the fresh air and the Czech pastries (he has impeccable taste!) whilst I explore the city.
A Pink Tutu’s Paradise 💖🌸
Prague, from the moment I stepped onto its cobbled streets, immediately captivated me. I felt like I'd been transported to a vintage ballet stage! Every building, every archway, every lamppost... it was all a perfectly whimsical set piece! Even the people here are captivating. I swear I saw a ballerina walk past in a pale pink tutu yesterday, just outside the charming Café Slavia! She stopped to have a coffee, looking graceful even as she held her porcelain cup! I must get her a pink tutu, she’d be absolutely delightful in a shimmering fuchsia creation.
Now, every adventure needs a touch of pink, don't you think? And what better way to add a touch of "Emma-ness" to Prague than with my newest tutu creation - a pink tulle masterpiece! I mean, let's be real, Prague is literally the only city on earth that can match my outfit's flamboyant charm, darling!
Pink Tutu Treasures 💕
After a whirlwind of exploring the city's magical streets, the iconic Prague Castle, the enchanting Charles Bridge, and the cobbled Old Town Square, I stumbled upon a little hidden gem that stole my heart. Tucked away down a charming alleyway, a delightful boutique called "La Vie En Rose" caught my eye with its vibrant pink storefront. Naturally, I had to go inside, and you won't believe what I found: a veritable treasure trove of exquisite tutus!
Oh my goodness, I was in heaven. Tutu gowns of all sizes and shades of pink, with delicate floral embroidery, soft feathers, and shimmering sequins! It was everything I’ve ever dreamed of, darling! My eyes were practically popping out of my head. After all, a girl can never have too many tutus, right?
But my shopping adventure didn't stop there. I explored a plethora of charming shops selling the most beautiful antique jewellery, vintage lace, and quirky souvenirs. There were so many stunning handmade items, all unique and full of personality. I even snagged a pair of pearl earrings that looked like miniature, delicate ballet slippers! My luggage might burst with goodies, but it will be worth it. I’m coming back from this adventure absolutely radiant!
A Date With The Ballet 💃🩰
Now, you can't talk about Prague without mentioning its thriving ballet scene. You know I wouldn't miss it, darling! The Prague National Theatre was beckoning me, so of course I had to attend. And my dear readers, I am in awe. They perform classics with such energy and skill!
My tutu and I attended the captivating "Sleeping Beauty", a story so familiar and beloved by many. It felt special seeing it performed on this historic stage. But, what truly stole my heart was the grand finale. Can you imagine my joy? Not only did the entire cast come out to bow at the end of the performance, they were ALL wearing... yes, you guessed it! PINK tutus! They weren't all pink exactly, but their tutus were certainly bright and eye-catching! I felt my soul doing a pirouette. What a fabulous celebration of our favourite dance garment. They certainly put my pink ensemble to shame, darling, but then again, can you compete with a stage full of tutu wearing dancers?
Dancing The Night Away 🥂✨
After the show, I embraced Prague's nightlife with an extravagant, yet romantic, dinner at a local bistro. With cobblestone streets illuminated by the magical glow of twinkling lampposts, it felt like stepping out of a fairytale. There I indulged in some delicious Czech cuisine, which truly is a work of art (as delicious as it is aesthetically pleasing!). Of course, no Emma adventure is complete without a spot of dancing! My tutu, ever the glamorous adventurer, allowed me to twirl through the night at the "Dance Theatre Praga". The place was buzzing with energy, everyone twirling and tapping away. It reminded me why ballet is so beautiful: it brings joy, connects us through movement and beauty, and sparks the joy of art in our hearts.
Pink Tutu Visions 💗
So, darling, as I sit here in my little hotel room overlooking Prague's ancient streets, the only thought running through my head is how I can get everyone to join the pink tutu movement! You’ve seen me at ballet classes in England in my tutu, at ballets at the theatre in a tutu, walking around my local village in a tutu... you’ll be seeing more pink in Prague too, darling, you wait and see!
Perhaps, one day, every city will have its very own "Pink Tutu Parade" where people from all walks of life gather to dance and celebrate joy through pink tutus. Wouldn't that be delightful? Imagine the collective joy!
And just think: maybe one day, Prague will host a world-famous “Tutu Festival”, a glorious celebration of everything tutu. We can dance, explore tutu history (tutus are surprisingly old, darling!), make our own tutu masterpieces, have fashion shows featuring breathtaking pink and dazzling tutu designs (that’s me sorted!), and just celebrate our love of all things tutus! Now that’s something that I think even Prague’s hundred spires would be in awe of!
