Bonjour mes amis! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... It's Pink Tutu time! And this week, I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share my Prague adventures with you! I finally landed in this magical city, and my pink tutu is twirling with delight.
Remember how I told you I was aiming for more European travels this year? Well, here I am, waltzing through Prague's cobblestone streets and soaking up all the culture and charm.
But letās start at the beginning, shall we? The train journey from Derbyshire was pure bliss. My vintage travel trunk, filled to the brim with pink tutus, sparkling jewels, and my trusty pair of ballet shoes, looked like it had stepped straight out of a classic ballet scene. It felt almost as though I was on a magical, fairytale journey, the rhythmic chugging of the train becoming my personal soundtrack.
When I arrived in Prague, I was instantly smitten with its fairytale-like charm. Imagine, darling, buildings that seem to dance into the sky, bridges draped in ancient charm, and an energy that's both romantic and playful.
The first thing I did? You guessed it, I found the perfect pink tutu to make this trip even more special. The shop, nestled in a cobblestone alleyway, felt like a hidden treasure trove. Pink chiffon, delicate lace, shimmering sequins, everything my ballerina heart could ever desire!
Of course, I couldn't visit Prague without indulging in some glorious fashion finds. The shops here are a dream, bursting with vintage elegance, bohemian chic, and just the right touch of Prague's unique personality. My closet is starting to resemble a Parisian boudoir, and it's absolutely delightful!
But the main event of my Prague adventure was definitely the ballet performance! Tonight, I'm experiencing the magic of the National Theatre - a renowned gem that has been hosting the most spectacular ballet shows for centuries. Imagine, darlings, the historical weight of those very same steps that my own little ballet feet will be following in, the echoes of legendary dancers that once graced that stageā¦ itās enough to send chills down your spine, let me tell you!
My tutu, of course, is a statement in shimmering pink, its fluffy tulle swirling in anticipation of the show's breathtaking movements. It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog post without a picture, now, would it? Iāll be sure to post some sneak peeks on Instagram for you to see how truly magical Prague is through my own pink-tinted lens!
And speaking of magical, have you ever heard the story of Pragueās āDancing Houseā? This architectural masterpiece seems to be caught in a graceful twirl, like a dancer frozen in mid-step! It's the perfect visual representation of why Prague feels like a city with a soul.
The city itself has become my own little ballet studio! I find myself moving through the cobbled streets, each step an elegant pliƩ, every turn a grand jetƩ. It's not just the beautiful architecture that inspires me, it's the rhythm of the city, the graceful way locals move, their effortless Parisian chic... I'm convinced that Prague has its own unique form of graceful dance!
Even the food in Prague feels like a ballet performance. I savored the most exquisite goulash, rich with the flavour of history and passion, while watching the chefs, graceful as ballerinas, create each delicious dish.
And tonight? Tonight is a true highlight! The ballet show is a production of "The Nutcracker", one of my favourite classics, but this time, the Czech ballet troupe puts a distinctly Prague spin on the story. My heart is buzzing with anticipation for the beautiful costuming, the exquisite music, the pure magic of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece under the Prague stars!
Later this week, I plan on venturing further into the world of Prague ballet, by visiting some of the renowned dance studios in the city. Itās not just the theatres that have me captivated! The energy and tradition that radiates from the schools is intoxicating. You know I just have to have a go! Perhaps my Pink Tutu Blog journey will even see me join a class ā just imagine my Pink Tutu with a bohemian flair, taking a lesson alongside future ballerinas!
One thing's for sure, Prague, with your twinkling lights, your romantic architecture, and the spirit of ballet swirling all around you, is fast becoming one of my favourite destinations.
