Pink Tutu Prague: Where Ballet Dreams and Fairy Tale Charm Meet (Post #1477)
Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, Emma, here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Prague! Oh, how I've been longing to share all the glorious details of this magical escapade with you! Buckle up, darlings, because this one's a real corker!
Pink Tutu and Prague: A Love StoryLet’s rewind a bit. This whole trip was fuelled by a love of ballet – a love that I hope, darling, is slowly taking over the world! This week, Prague beckoned me, with promises of a dazzling ballet production and, of course, a sprawling city overflowing with fashion, art, and enchanting architecture.
Remember, darlings, I get my travelling funds by performing my favourite ballerina dances at gala events, corporate happenings, even birthday parties. My passion for the performing arts feeds my passion for exploring the world!
And Prague… well, let’s just say she stole my heart, tutu and all. The city, bathed in golden hues of the setting sun, was simply breathtaking. I even rode a pony in a little forest on the outskirts of the city - it was such an idyllic experience, especially in my custom-made pink tutu. The air buzzed with history and stories, every cobblestone whispering of kings, queens, and emperors.
Pink Tutu Power in PragueFor my Prague journey, I chose the railway, darling! That is, I made the train my mode of transportation from Derbyshire to Amsterdam, where I picked up the sleekest Eurostar to Brussels. And from there? My dear friend, the Eurostar to Paris – followed by another romantic train journey to Prague! Now, I love a good adventure, but there’s something about those train journeys that just make my soul sing.
Imagine this: sitting by the window, surrounded by the soft hum of the train and watching the world fly by, each town, village, and city painting its unique colours on the passing landscape. And I’m always a vision in my best pink tutu, with a sprinkle of that Emma magic, of course. I know the whole train is admiring my ballet moves, my sparkling outfit and the way I turn the journey into a beautiful, swirling performance.
Now, a quick trip to the station bookshop for a book on the ballet history of Prague. Did you know they have a rich tradition? They've been doing it for centuries – even during the war they danced, but with dimmed lights for a brief period.
Prague, with its majestic buildings and ornate decor, felt like I had stumbled into a fairytale. Every corner held an unexpected delight - a romantic cafe tucked away in a courtyard, a lively market overflowing with handcrafted treasures, or a towering church casting a timeless shadow on the cobbled streets.
And my dear, there was no shortage of fashionable delights. Shops overflowing with intricate gowns, bold statement pieces, and – oh joy – an entire section dedicated to tutus! This city, it seemed, was made for ballet enthusiasts and style mavens.
I picked out a fabulous vintage lace top in an emerald green to contrast the beautiful pink tutu I'd planned to wear for the show I was looking forward to most – and my main reason for this journey.
Pink Tutu on Stage! A Symphony of BalletAh, but you must hear about the ballet! Held at the magical and ancient Prague State Opera, it was pure enchantment. It felt like being transported into a different realm, a world where art and grace danced hand-in-hand, as the ballerinas flitted across the stage with breathtaking beauty and effortless artistry. My heart was pounding – and the feeling was absolutely divine. I could feel a magical energy around me and every so often, I looked out at the audience and felt the way their eyes were wide open with wonder as they took in every move and nuance.
It was during one particular movement that the lights changed to a pink spotlight. Oh darling! You know that feeling you get when the stage light is so bright you feel like you could light up a thousand hearts? I got a powerful sensation and imagined the light of my pink tutu taking centre stage in my mind – like I was actually dancing out there in the centre, a magical light bringing colour to every moment and movement.
My tutu is always a key piece of any outfit I create and to me, ballet shows are just that – they’re outfits that you get to experience. It was so powerful, even if just for a few moments, to see that ballet magic reflected back on the stage as the lights changed to pink. I know what you're thinking - it’s all about finding ways to add colour to our lives, yes?
That show wasn't just about the stunning dancing, but it transported me to a time long ago - as the dancers took to the stage they created such beautiful artistry, reminding me of the importance of expressing your individuality through music and movement, something that we need more of these days.
I can’t remember the last time I had such a thrilling time – all thanks to my love of dance, fashion and exploration! The pink tutu magic worked, darling. I know you are all out there feeling the pink vibes too.
I will leave you with this thought: never stop pursuing your dreams. Let your inner pink tutu blossom. Travel. Dance. Be adventurous!
Till next week darlings, with love,
Emma xx
Pink Tutu Travel Diary - PragueTo round things off darling, I’ve also created a special "Pink Tutu Prague Travel Diary” - because you’ve all been such devoted followers and it felt right to include the details from my time there!
Fashionista's Paradise - The Shops of PragueThis week darling, Prague offered fashion inspiration around every corner! It truly felt like a "fashionista's paradise." But here are the two boutiques that stood out – just for you!
- The Fashion Museum - The Old Town: My first stop had to be the Fashion Museum, tucked away in Prague’s captivating Old Town. Darling, I stepped back in time as I walked through its halls!
The museum is a trove of 19th and 20th century fashion, a reminder of the history of textiles, designs, the elegance of historical trends, and how style has evolved. And guess what darling – the museum had a section for tutu history – even showcasing some very early tutus that had been painstakingly sewn by hand!
- Boutique on Charles Bridge: Oh darling! Charles Bridge is not only iconic, but also home to a charming little boutique right by the famous bridge! It was filled with bohemian styles – embroidered blouses and romantic dresses – they really reminded me of how important Prague is as a cultural hub. I picked up a couple of silk scarves with gorgeous colours. Perfect with any pink tutu!
I love exploring cuisines, darling, and you know, every trip is a foodie experience!
- Sweet Treats: The locals adore traditional treats, and my taste buds rejoiced at each opportunity. The cinnamon pastries! You have to try them. And the cakes - so incredibly elegant.
- Local Delicacies: From the steaming bowl of “goulash” (a stew of meat and vegetables) to the classic “trdelník” (cinnamon rolls) and, my favourite, "bramboráky" – savoury potato pancakes – it was an exploration of flavours I will cherish.
- Cafes in Old Town: It would have been wrong to visit the old town and not visit a traditional cafe for coffee, darling, and I recommend you try a “Czech espresso”!
This city, darling, it felt as if it had been specially crafted for those who love a good time - it felt so perfect, with all the little romantic shops, street cafes and, my favourite, it has amazing art installations!
So here are a few of my pink tutu style tips for those wanting to see this city like I did.
- Explore with Flair: Rent a little boat and take a cruise down the Vltava River.
- Wander with Grace: Find a local pony or a horse, for that special magical adventure – as I did, and experience nature on a whimsical note.
- Stroll With Style: Explore the Old Town Square, as it offers architectural delights and, darling, that magical fairytale feeling we all seek out from time to time.
That’s all for now darling. See you all next Wednesday – it’s my Paris Blog week, and you can read all about the City of Love! I hope you are excited for the pink tutu fashion magic of the Parisian shows! It’s all about taking the city by storm with our pink tutu fashion, and I cannot wait to share the latest, the greatest!
