Prague Calling! 🩰 Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #1481)

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means… a brand new Pink Tutu Prague adventure is here! I'm just back from a whirl around Prague, my head still filled with the echoes of beautiful music and the swirl of tulle under the stage lights. Oh, and let's not forget the gorgeous shops and the fabulous fashions! This city is a true feast for the senses.

This week's adventures started on Wednesday 25th October, with my heart skipping a beat faster than a triple pirouette. Why? Because this was the day I was headed to the theatre, ready to be swept away by a ballet that was oh-so-pink-tastic! (I'll tell you all about that later.)

First though, the journey. I opted for a luxurious train journey, gliding across the beautiful countryside, tucked into my favourite pink cashmere cardigan and a book on the history of the tutu - did you know that in the early days they were really quite drab? Thankfully, times have changed.

Arriving in Prague was like stepping into a fairytale. A medieval masterpiece, it’s absolutely brimming with history and charm. And for a girl with a love for all things beautiful, that means a pink explosion! Everywhere I looked were vibrant shops filled with Bohemian crystal, vintage lace, and dreamy pastels – it’s practically an excuse for an impromptu pink tutu photoshoot!

But first, sustenance! Now, you might not know this, but my pink tutus have a little secret: they need a lot of sustenance! Especially when it comes to cakes. So, a trip to a gorgeous cafe for a steaming hot chocolate and a plate of irresistible cherry pastries was the order of the day.

My Favourite Place on the Planet? Maybe

Feeling energised, we headed to the heart of Old Town Square – oh my, what a sight! Cobblestones, soaring towers, and enough fairytale charm to melt the iciest heart. And, to make it even more dreamy, we stumbled upon a cute, little bookshop just bursting with vintage editions! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to get a photo for Instagram, of course, with a few delicate lace-edged pages peeking out. What's more elegant than a tutu and a book? Nothing, I tell you!

After this little pit stop, we walked along the enchanting Charles Bridge, taking in the views and getting in our steps. Every little corner of this city is a photograph waiting to be captured, trust me!

Dancing, Dressing, and All Things Divine

But, my lovelies, the real reason for my Prague pilgrimage was a ballet performance! I couldn't wait to get my eyes on "Swan Lake," performed at the stunning National Theatre, an architectural masterpiece. I’ll be honest, there were a few moments where I got so caught up in the story and the dancers' grace that I almost wished I was dancing on stage! The beauty of the dancers and their breathtaking leaps and spins - they were absolutely breathtaking! Of course, the prima ballerina's tutu was just dreamy, it looked like it was sculpted from fluffy clouds - and so perfect with her deep pink leotard, just divine! She reminded me to go for a little pink flair in my outfit later too. I had bought a pair of these delicious deep pink shoes, with pearl embellishments. I'd say I channeled my inner prima!

Prague's Shopping Spree

Prague, it’s not just beautiful; it's bursting with beautiful boutiques, antique shops and craft markets - the perfect setting for a pink tutu wearer's dream shopping spree! Now, I’m always on the lookout for the perfect accessory, and let me tell you, I was smitten with the delicate Bohemian glass beads and lace, as well as a few vintage costume jewels - and did you know, *this city is renowned for its leather goods? I treated myself to a beautiful deep-red, blush-pink toned, genuine leather handbag and a gorgeous cherry-red clutch - what’s more chic than pink with a touch of scarlet? Nothing! It will match my new, cherry red beret!

The night wrapped up with a delicious meal - Czech cuisine is definitely a treat, especially with all those yummy potato dumplings! And it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu trip without indulging in a couple of tasty pastries for dessert. After all, it’s the fuel we pink tutu wearers need to stay ready to prance!

And now, as I sit here sipping a cup of tea back in Derbyshire, I’m already dreaming of my next adventure. I'll keep you all posted! Oh, and a little tip – If you’re ever visiting Prague, make sure you try their apple strudel. It’s a must-try, trust me!

Until next Wednesday, darlings! Don’t forget to rock your pink tutus with pride!

XOXO
