#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2023-11-01

Hello my darlings! 🩰✨ Emma here, back from another fabulous adventure, this time in the enchanting city of Prague. I'm bursting with excitement to share all the wonderful things I saw and did, from tutus to train journeys, shopping sprees to spectacular ballet shows – oh, the memories!

This week, my pink tutu is swirling with the magic of Prague. This charming city, with its cobblestone streets and pastel buildings, feels straight out of a fairytale. As I stroll through the old town, I can practically hear waltzing melodies playing in the air. 🎶

Before we get to the tutu-tastic highlights of Prague, I simply must tell you about the journey. A whirlwind trip wouldn't be the same without a bit of glamour on the way, and this time I opted for a scenic train journey from Derbyshire to Prague. Now, I know what you're thinking - train journeys are boring! But hold on! With a good book, a cuppa, and my signature pink tutu, a train journey becomes an experience in itself. Plus, the views whizzing past the window are truly breathtaking. This one had picturesque views of rolling hills, charming villages and even glimpses of majestic castles. Who needs a carriage when you have a first-class seat in a grand carriage, with a delicious hot meal served on silver trays? 😉

Fashion tip: My top tip for a comfortable and chic train journey? Wear a light, airy outfit. You'll be thankful for the breathable fabric as you glide across the continents.

Speaking of "glide across," nothing embodies grace and movement better than ballet. And what better place to indulge in this art form than in Prague's stunning National Theatre? This magnificent building, situated on the Vltava River, has hosted a symphony of incredible performances over the years, and tonight was no different.

The show was truly magical – a breathtaking rendition of "The Nutcracker," with graceful ballerinas pirouetting in tutus that seemed to shimmer under the stage lights. As I watched, I was completely mesmerised, transported to a world of wonder, filled with dancing sugarplum fairies, valiant soldiers, and mischievous mice.

My favourite part? Watching the prima ballerina effortlessly leap and pirouette. The way she commanded the stage, with effortless grace and power, was simply awe-inspiring. I felt an urge to jump onto the stage, join the performance, and dance with them! 🩰 Maybe next time!

Ballet history fun fact: Did you know the National Theatre in Prague is an architectural gem built in 1881? It was the culmination of years of struggle, fought for by Czech artists and writers who dreamed of a theatre dedicated to their national culture.

You know how I always say a good tutu can turn a day into a fairytale? Well, Prague certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to beautiful clothing. This city has a fascinating fashion scene – independent boutiques overflowing with elegant designs and vintage treasures that beg to be discovered.

On my first day in Prague, I found myself wandering down a cobblestone street, lost in a sea of colourful fabrics and unique textures. After what seemed like forever, I discovered a hidden gem – a shop brimming with gorgeous tutus, with every colour imaginable - from a delicate blush pink to a bright electric blue, from a fluffy lavender to a sophisticated midnight black.

You know I had to try them all on! 🩰 And it wasn't long before I discovered "the one." A luscious, velvety pink tutu, with shimmering sequins cascading like stars down its delicate tulle.

The shopkeeper was so lovely – a stylish woman with an air of confidence that seemed to emanate from her perfectly-tailored silk scarf. She explained how the tutu was handcrafted from the finest Italian silk and, after spending an eternity in the changing room, I knew I couldn't leave Prague without it. This new tutu felt like a magical gift - perfect for waltzing under the twinkling fairy lights of Prague's charming alleyways.

Fashion Tip: When looking for the perfect tutu, look for one that fits your personality! A fluffy, pastel pink tutu will bring a youthful exuberance to your outfit, while a more sophisticated, dark shade of pink with delicate embellishments will create a refined, elegant silhouette.

From romantic castles to enchanting bridges, every corner of Prague feels spellbinding. Every street, every bridge, every building seems to whisper tales of romance, adventure, and the mysteries of the past. I felt like I had stepped onto the set of a fairy tale movie. The vibrant history of this city pulsates around you; it’s a feeling of time standing still while being infused with life.

One afternoon, I found myself lost in the charming labyrinth of Prague’s Old Town Square. The air was thick with the aroma of freshly baked pastries, the gentle tinkling of music drifting from a nearby cafe. I took in the captivating sight of the magnificent Old Town Hall and the awe-inspiring astronomical clock, a stunning testament to Prague's rich history.

And speaking of castles… you simply cannot visit Prague without venturing to Prague Castle. This historic fortress complex sits high above the city, commanding a majestic view over the skyline. As I strolled through the castle's cobblestone courtyards and its majestic towers, I felt like a princess on a grand adventure. It felt like stepping back in time – an enchanting glimpse into a bygone era.

One of the most rewarding things about my journey was seeing the magic of ballet inspire those around me. Every day, people would approach me, intrigued by my bright pink tutu, with a child-like excitement in their eyes. I took the opportunity to chat with them about my passion for dance and the joy it brought into my life. They loved the fact I was living my dream – travelling the world with my pink tutu, inspiring others to embrace beauty, art, and self-expression.

Sometimes, the simplest things can spark a flicker of inspiration. It's amazing to witness the impact a single pink tutu can have on people's hearts and minds. I firmly believe that everyone has a little dancer inside of them – and I'm committed to inspiring others to find their own inner sparkle!

As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows over Prague's iconic Charles Bridge, it felt like I was leaving a piece of my heart behind. 💔 I will never forget my time in this magical city - the swirling beauty of the ballet, the whimsical charm of the architecture, the endless avenues for sartorial inspiration!

But as my journey continues, I'll carry the magic of Prague in my heart, a constant reminder of the wonders that await, and the possibilities that are endless, as long as you have a pink tutu and a dream to chase. 🩰💕
