Prague, My Dearest, You’ve Stolen My Heart! 💖 #1504
Hello my darling dears! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-clad travel blogger, back with another enchanting entry from the utterly delightful city of Prague! Oh, it's been a whirlwind of a week, filled with cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and the most delicious pastries you can imagine (all washed down with a spot of Czech beer, of course!). But my true love affair has been with the stunning architecture, which reminds me of a beautiful ballerina, poised and graceful, a vision in its own right.
As always, this week's blog post will be all about our Pink Tutu Travels, a little dose of fashion, history, and, of course, ballet! So grab your favourite cuppa, settle in with your poshest pink tutu (don't forget a dainty scarf!), and let's waltz our way through Prague!
Arriving in StyleAfter a perfectly delightful train journey across Europe (I always prefer the train; it's much more romantic than flying, and gives me ample time for people watching and jotting down blog ideas in my trusty notebook!), I arrived in Prague feeling utterly refreshed and ready for an adventure.
It's funny how I always feel a twinge of excitement when I arrive in a new place – that thrill of the unknown, the sense that anything is possible. And Prague, darling, has most certainly lived up to all my expectations!
Tutu Time in the City!First stop: my favourite Prague shop, the Pretty as a Peach Boutique. Now, this isn't your average souvenir shop, my dears. This is a wonderland of frills, feathers, and vintage lace, overflowing with the most charming tutus imaginable. And guess what? They've just had a restock of the most glorious pink tulle imaginable! It's simply divine. I knew instantly that it was destined to be part of my Prague wardrobe.
I have a confession, my darlings. My life goal is to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu, and seeing this magnificent pile of tulle just fueled the fire within me. My wardrobe just screams for pink tutus and all things pretty, and I must admit, Prague has provided endless inspiration.
With my latest acquisition safely stowed in my luggage, I set off to explore the historic centre of the city, or the Stare Město as the locals call it.
And what better way to explore than a leisurely stroll across the Charles Bridge? It's truly magical, my dears! Imagine the stories it could tell - of Kings and Queens, artists and writers, lovers and dreamers. The very stones under your feet are alive with history!
The Ballet! As you know, ballet is the very heart of my blog, and this trip has been no exception. It was on this day that I was lucky enough to catch a performance of the world-renowned Czech National Ballet, and oh, darling, it was sheer magic!
Now, there's nothing like experiencing ballet live, you see. You get the feel of the music, the rhythm, the grace. The dancers, simply incredible! With every movement, every leap, they spun stories with their bodies, a true spectacle to behold. The beauty, the power, the elegance – it simply took my breath away.
Speaking of beauty and elegance, I simply had to take a moment to admire their beautiful tutus! And let’s talk about the history behind them. Imagine the countless hands that have stitched these gowns over the centuries, the intricate details, the hidden symbolism – simply stunning!
Speaking of tutus, I simply had to treat myself to some ballet accessories. It's impossible to come to a city with such a rich ballet history and not want to pick up a little something special to remember the occasion! My latest acquisition? A charming vintage ballerina music box, perfect for my little pink-themed sanctuary back home in Derbyshire.
Finding Beauty in the OrdinaryWhat I love most about travelling, and Prague in particular, is discovering the beauty in the everyday. Every cobbled street, every twinkling window, every quaint coffee shop filled with chatter, is a treasure waiting to be unearthed.
And as I sat in a tiny cafe tucked away on a narrow alley, watching the world go by, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment. I love the feeling of being truly immersed in a place, losing myself in the rhythm of daily life.
It’s in those everyday moments, surrounded by such vibrant culture, that my love for travel truly shines through.
Prague's Culinary Delights! My dears, we can't leave Prague without talking about the food! Oh, the delectable delights that I've sampled over the last week have been absolutely divine!
We began with a delightful afternoon tea at The Teapot in the Old Town Square. With delicately crafted sandwiches, scones with clotted cream (my weakness!), and delicate pastries, the experience was pure elegance! Of course, the teacups and saucers were impossibly charming!
But the true culinary hero, my darlings, has to be Czech Goulash, that rich, warming, and absolutely comforting soup that’s been warming the souls of Czechs for centuries!
And if you’re like me and love a little something sweet to finish your meal, then Prague’s famous Trdelnik, that irresistible, sweet pastry that’s like a cross between a donut and a cinnamon roll, is an absolute must-try! It’s the perfect way to end a long day of exploring the city's hidden gems!
Fashion Inspiration in Prague! And now, let’s talk fashion! My dears, Prague has simply inspired me. From the effortlessly chic bohemian style that permeates the Old Town Square to the timeless elegance of the city's most fashionable locals, it’s a city brimming with style! I can't wait to experiment with different combinations of colours, textures, and prints – inspired by the city's charming atmosphere.
Imagine it: my bright pink tutu twirling with a touch of bohemian flair, an ethereal pink scarf floating around my neck like a graceful cloud, perhaps a vintage floral dress with an element of antique charm. Prague is a kaleidoscope of fashion inspiration, a beautiful testament to the power of style and grace.
Looking AheadWith my head overflowing with inspiration and my heart filled with joy, I’ve decided to spend my last few days in Prague exploring its many beautiful gardens and parks. Prague is known as the ‘City of a Hundred Spires’ and with a charmingly manicured park like Petrin Hill right at the heart of the city, there’s never a shortage of stunning green spaces.
So, my dears, this is it for Prague, for now. But worry not! There are so many more adventures on the horizon, many more fabulous pink tutus waiting to be worn, and more beautiful destinations waiting to be explored! Be sure to check back next Wednesday for another exciting edition of Pink Tutu Travels!
Until next time, stay stylish and spread your wings like the beautiful ballet dancers of the world!
💖 Love and Pink Tutus,
Emma
