Prague in Pink: Tutu-ing Around the City of a Hundred Spires! 🩰💖
Hello my darling dears, and welcome to another week of pink-tutu-tastic adventures! I'm Emma, your friendly neighbourhood ballerina blogger, and today I'm whisking you away to the enchanting city of Prague, where the cobbled streets sing with history and the air smells of fairytale magic! This is blog post number 1506, and believe me, this one is a real gem, just like Prague itself.
I've been dancing my way through Europe this spring, hopping on trains like a ballet-loving bunny, and Prague was definitely on my pink-hued itinerary. It's been a dream, darling, a literal dream. Every corner I turn is a new vista, a new photo op, a new inspiration for my latest tutu creation!
This week's post is all about the "Pink Tutu Prague" ballet performance, which I just HAD to see. It was absolutely divine! This production took place in the beautiful, majestic Municipal House – the building itself was like a fairy tale castle! You wouldn't believe the grandeur of it all.
Now, before we get to the ballet, let's talk about how I got to Prague. As a tutu-wearing, train-loving ballet fanatic, naturally, I travelled by train. The journey from Derbyshire to Prague was filled with breathtaking views and the thrill of zipping across borders, the kind of experience that fills me with artistic inspiration. Don't even get me started on the delectable food served on the train! I've even discovered the joy of eating a "chicken leg" with a knife and fork – a total Parisian dream come true!
Speaking of Parisian dreams, Prague feels incredibly French to me! I have been falling in love with the old architecture here, the way they just make everything so beautiful. It’s like you can just feel the artistry of it all, you know what I mean?
Once in Prague, I went for a little jaunt through the charming old town square, marvelling at the clock tower and the street performers. Of course, I had to visit the majestic Charles Bridge – what's a trip to Prague without walking across its ancient stones? The architecture was spectacular, all those Gothic spires reaching up to the heavens, the sheer history swirling all around… It truly gave me goosebumps!
But darling, my reason for coming to Prague was a very special one: The “Pink Tutu Prague” ballet! This production was pure enchantment – I was practically bouncing in my seat with excitement! I simply can’t resist a tutu-related event. I don't want to spoil the magic, but it was all about the love and wonder of dance, with absolutely breathtaking costumes! The ballerina dancing the lead role wore a beautiful tulle creation in the most magnificent shade of pink. Let's just say I've already added this shade to my shopping list, you bet!
Now, onto my own shopping adventure, darling. You already know how much I love exploring new places, trying new foods and, of course, discovering hidden gems in every shop. In Prague, I found a vintage dress shop tucked away down a cobbled alley. Inside was a veritable treasure trove of stylish gowns, hats and scarves. I ended up buying a 1950s lace dress and a bright pink velvet hat, perfect for adding a little vintage glamour to my daily outfits. The shop owner was a delight, giving me her history of the area and all the places I needed to see. And she’s absolutely right about what she said… It’s one of the most amazing areas to visit in the city, perfect for afternoon tea!
Speaking of delightful places, one afternoon, I had the best cream cake and coffee in the cutest cafe you've ever seen, darling. It was hidden away in a quiet alley off a busy street. It felt like I stumbled into a secret Parisian bistro! Oh, I forgot to tell you - the cafe had an amazing collection of antique mirrors - all in the style of 1920s and 30s, all just gorgeous.
And, oh my goodness, the shopping here in Prague! There are amazing boutiques with such fun things to buy, darling. It's truly a shopper's paradise. One of my favourites was a quirky store filled with pastel-coloured shoes, handbags and hair clips – my heart nearly burst from excitement! It had some of the cutest things, darling.
Of course, no visit to Prague would be complete without experiencing the nightlife, darling! My hotel was absolutely incredible and had a very swanky rooftop bar, where you could dance beneath the stars with a fabulous view of the city. The view from the rooftop bar is the most amazing view I’ve ever seen in my life – truly picture-perfect, like stepping into a painting.
And then, of course, I was mesmerized by Prague's amazing night lights! Everything sparkled and glimmered, especially the bridge. There was just such a romantic atmosphere! You simply HAVE to spend at least one evening walking the streets and enjoying the stunning sights and the twinkling lights!
This trip has truly left a special place in my heart, and that, my dears, is thanks to the amazing sights, the gorgeous architecture, the exquisite ballet, and, of course, the delightful fashion! It’s so inspiring to be here, I want to start creating the most gorgeous ballet tutu for a special “Prague” performance – I think the Prague Municipal House is the perfect venue for a ballerina. It’s really a magical place – don't just imagine it – put it on your list and come visit this gorgeous place.
Now, my lovelies, it’s time to bring our magical journey to Prague to a close. If you haven’t yet visited this incredible city, do add it to your list! It truly has to be seen to be believed, so pack your pink tutu, a good pair of ballet shoes, and let’s go exploring!
Stay pink and sparkly, my darlings!
Until next Wednesday,
Emma x
