It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another blog post - this is post number 1512 for those of you keeping track - and this week we’re celebrating all things Prague. Think fairytale cobblestones, castles perched atop rolling hills, and a magical city buzzing with history. But most importantly, a city with so many fabulous places to spot a pink tutu.
Journey of the Tutus: From Derbyshire to Prague
Remember how I said I'd be hopping on a train for Prague? Well, darling, I was true to my word! After a delightful train journey that felt like it was plucked straight from a classic Agatha Christie novel, I arrived in Prague just as the sun was setting, painting the sky with hues of apricot and lilac. It was the most romantic entrance!
Once I settled into my charming boutique hotel – and, of course, a new pink tutu was essential - I had to explore the city’s soul! Now, as you all know, I'm a big believer in the power of the pink tutu. You might find me twirling around the town square, the grand squares, or even the cosy little cobbled streets. This little number I brought with me? Oh darling, it’s a cloud of tulle in the palest pink, adorned with crystal drops that shimmer like Prague's legendary garnets!
The City of a Thousand Stories: Tutus, Theatres and Timeless Elegance
Now, Prague has been nicknamed “The City of a Thousand Stories.” But, if you ask me, there's room for another story – and that story's starring a pink tutu and all the beautiful ballet inspirations the city has to offer!
Speaking of ballet, my journey wouldn't be complete without exploring Prague's incredible ballet scene! I discovered that there are so many historic ballet companies and theatres around the city – it was just perfect for my taste buds! And guess what, darling? I'm so thrilled to say I'll be taking a class at the famous National Theatre! Their beautiful dancers and history – oh, you can practically smell the tradition!
But the highlight of my trip, you ask? I'm actually catching a show on 29th May at the stunning National Theatre – an unforgettable performance of the ever-romantic Giselle! With this much beauty and magic surrounding me, you can bet my pink tutu will be joining in on the celebration. It’s simply impossible not to be swept up in the sheer romanticism and artistry!
Pink Tutu's Prague Shopping Adventures
You know I love a good shopping spree! This city is bursting with charming boutiques and markets. Where else can you find hand-painted china, crystal chandeliers, and, of course, beautiful fabrics for a fabulous tutu creation? (Don’t worry, I won’t spill the beans on what my new project will be just yet – it’s a secret!)
I even found a lovely little tailor who has been creating dancewear for decades – the passion and craft is amazing! I swear, the intricate designs on these corsets are works of art in themselves. Plus, who could resist a delightful cafe or two for a spot of tea and a gossip in the beautiful gardens that the city has on offer? Fashion, shopping and ballet are simply intertwined – how wonderful!
Tutus on the Vltava: A River Cruise with Style
Prague’s river Vltava, it's simply magical. There's just something about that glittering water reflecting the city’s glow that takes your breath away! And the best part? A river cruise – perfect for a little sightseeing, champagne, and twirling! My dear, you haven't seen glamour until you've watched a pink tutu flitting against a river sunset, bathed in golden light.
