Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1524 - A Tutu-tastic Adventure in the City of a Hundred Spires! 🩰✨🇨🇿

Hello, my darling darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back with a new adventure from the heart of Europe! This week, I’m whisking you away to the magical city of Prague, a place that truly lives up to its nickname: the City of a Hundred Spires. It's a city where the architecture seems to whisper tales of fairytale romance and where every corner holds a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. And of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without a ballet show! So let's get on with the adventure, shall we?

Riding the Rails in Style

As usual, I opted for a charming train journey to Prague, arriving at the magnificent Praha hlavní nádraží, Prague's central train station. Oh my! This is one grand entrance. With its high arched ceilings and vast hallways, it almost feels like a scene from a ballet! I was just picturing a swan lake finale unfolding, but that’s probably just the tutu talking.

Finding My Inner Prague Princess

Stepping out of the station, Prague’s medieval charm hit me full force. The cobblestone streets, the colourful buildings, and the intricate spires are truly captivating. And let's be honest, my pink tutu looked rather fetching against this enchanting backdrop!

Tutu Time! Fashion Finds in Prague

First stop: the charming shops on the narrow, winding streets around the Old Town Square! Prague's shopping scene is a delightful mix of designer boutiques, antique stores, and traditional Czech shops. Of course, my quest for the perfect tutu is never far from my mind, so you bet I dove head-first into the shops. The good news? Prague doesn't disappoint. I found the most exquisite little boutique called "The Prague Princess." It was absolutely stuffed to the rafters with tutus. Seriously, they had every shade imaginable. I left with not one, but TWO gorgeous additions to my wardrobe - one fluffy tulle dream in a blush pink with a scattering of shimmering crystals and a second, classic black tutu that perfectly echoed the drama of the city itself. And, the best part? My purchases came in beautiful hand-painted boxes that look almost like antique dollhouses. The detail! I can't wait to show them off to you, dear readers!

A Culinary Journey in Pink

After my shopping spree, it was time for lunch! I love exploring the culinary delights of new cities and Prague doesn't disappoint. I found a cafe tucked away in an alley, decorated with floral bouquets, delicate lace doilies, and portraits of ballerinas. They even had a menu dedicated to Ballet! So elegant, you’d swear you were dining in a theatre! They offered a delightful beetroot salad topped with feta and walnuts (which looked stunningly pink!), accompanied by a creamy pumpkin soup and, naturally, a cup of beautifully brewed tea in a delicate teacup. What a delight!

Evening in the City of Dancing Dreams

The highlight of my trip was undoubtedly the ballet show I saw this evening at the stunning Staatsoper. It was a performance of the classic ballet "Giselle." As always, the costumes, the dancing, and the sheer drama of it all filled me with a magical feeling. The ballerina was an absolute powerhouse! The grace, the lightness, the way she spun through the air – it’s simply a wonder to behold. I can’t wait to embrace her style in my own dance class!

Prague by Moonlight

After the show, a moonlit walk across the Charles Bridge became a perfect way to soak in the magical atmosphere of Prague. It’s hard to imagine a more romantic city, where the light of the moon reflects on the smooth surfaces of the Vltava river, and castles seem to stand sentinel atop every hill. There was even a group of street performers near the Old Town Square playing beautifully melodic Czech music - it perfectly encapsulated Prague’s soul. I couldn’t help myself – I twirled for the performers – a pink blur in a sea of silver moonlight. I think they really enjoyed the surprise performance!

A Little Something Sweet

I simply couldn't leave Prague without indulging in the traditional Czech pastry, Trdelník! Imagine warm, sugary dough spun around a spit, then baked until perfectly golden and crunchy. It's essentially a delicious and unique sweet experience in a pastry form. The fact that I managed to fit this delightful treat in between my already bursting shopping bag is a true testament to my love of Czech food!

Pink Tutu Prague, a Story Yet Unfinished

As I write this, I’m enjoying a final coffee at a cafe that has views of the stunning Prague Castle. The castle is a vision of history, a testament to a city that’s always woven together romance and adventure. It's been a wonderful journey, my dear readers. The charm, the beauty, the cultural richness of Prague – it really does live up to its fairytale-like reputation!

Prague, thank you for your fairytale memories. You truly stole my heart (and I managed to grab an amazing hat with the castle motif)!

But you’ll see me again soon – my tutu’s not going to settle for just one visit to this magical city. And that, my dear darlings, brings my post to a close.

Don’t forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com for more travel adventures every Wednesday. And do let me know what other places you'd like me to explore. I love your suggestions!

Until next time, remember, pink is always the perfect colour!

💖✨💖

P.S. – On August 21st, I had the pleasure of attending a performance of the "Swan Lake" by the Prague National Theatre! Oh, it was truly magical. A beautifully executed production and it was wonderful to be enveloped by the beauty of Prague, its rich history, and the wonderful energy of this graceful art form! I've even added the dress worn by Odette in "Swan Lake" to my "to-buy" list. Don’t judge my impulsive shopping, my darlings – every true ballet lover understands that some pieces simply cannot be missed!

Stay glamorous! Emma xx
