Prague's Pink Paradise: Post #1526

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of your favourite weekly pink tutu treat from yours truly, Emma, landing live from Prague!

Oh, Prague, you've stolen my heart. This city is simply dripping in charm. Think cobbled streets, golden spires reaching for the sky, and a whiff of history in every corner. But for me, it’s the fairy-tale setting for my next ballet adventure. I’ve arrived just in time for the #PinkTutuPrague ballet, and I’m absolutely bursting with excitement.

As you know, I’ve been on a bit of a tutu-tastic journey these past few weeks, travelling by train and even riding a pony! Yes, you heard me right – a pony. It was in Romania for the Transylvania Ballet festival, but more on that another time. Today’s all about Prague, darlings. And what better way to get into the spirit of things than a pink tutu inspired by the city itself?

Speaking of pink tutus, let’s talk fashion. Because Prague is not just a haven for ballet lovers, it's also a treasure trove for shopaholics like myself.

My latest pick? A magnificent fuchsia tulle masterpiece, adorned with tiny Prague Castle details, lovingly crafted by my favourite boutique, La Bohème. I simply had to add this vibrant number to my collection, you know. And trust me, it will be making a spectacular appearance at the #PinkTutuPrague ballet. Just wait till you see!

Now, back to the city of bridges, beer gardens, and charming cafes. I spent this morning exploring the Old Town Square. What a spectacle! Every nook and cranny screams history, from the astronomical clock to the gorgeous Gothic architecture. Oh, and have you ever tasted Trdelník? It’s this delicious, cinnamon-filled pastry, and my, oh my, it’s simply divine!

This evening, though, it’s all about the ballet. The performance, at the National Theatre, promises to be magical. The dancers, the costumes, the music – it’s all set to be breathtaking. I just can’t wait!

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the #PinkTutuPrague program! We’ve got “Sleeping Beauty”, a vibrant and contemporary take on Tchaikovsky’s timeless classic. It’s all set to a modernised soundtrack, featuring contemporary twists on the original melodies. The choreography is, as expected, an absolute showstopper – I’m particularly excited to see the waltzing scene, with its gorgeous and dazzling costuming.

But it’s not just about the show. The #PinkTutuPrague is an initiative aimed at introducing ballet to a new generation. Think masterclasses, tutu-making workshops, even ballet street performances around the city! It’s all designed to get everyone involved and experience the joy of ballet, regardless of their experience or age. They've even got a "Pink Tutu Princesses" workshop for younger ones, where they get to learn basic ballet steps and decorate their own tutus. Honestly, my heart just melts!

Speaking of the history of the ballet and, of course, tutus, Prague has an amazing legacy. Did you know the city boasts a history of ballet that goes back to the 16th century? From its elegant court ballets to the emergence of its first professional ballet company in the 18th century, the city has been a cradle for the art of dance for centuries.

It’s incredible to see how much has changed throughout history, and the beauty of the dance remains timeless. It’s no surprise that tutus, the iconic garments of the ballet, also boast a fascinating history. It's a story woven through centuries, and one that involves daring designs, bold innovations, and of course, countless tiers of tulle.

From the very first “tutu”, a simple knee-length skirt worn in the 16th century to the elaborate, flowing creations of the 19th century, the tutu has always evolved to express a new idea, a new mood, a new style. It’s no wonder it remains such a symbol of ballet’s beauty, grace, and magic. And honestly, can you imagine a more enchanting and empowering piece of clothing? The way it billows and swirls as the dancer moves… it's truly magical.

Of course, for the ballet in Prague, my outfits are a must! I’m all set for a glamorous yet comfortable ensemble – think a flowy white blouse, my new Prague Castle-inspired pink tutu, and some ballet-inspired flats, a little nod to those dancing shoes. A statement pink clutch, to hold my ballet ticket and lipstick, will add a touch of fabulous to the look.

Now, I just need a touch of pink sparkle, my ballet mask – of course, pink! I'll finish with a touch of rouge for a pop of colour on the lips and blush on the cheeks – perfect for catching that magical Prague glow. Oh, darling, it’s going to be so much fun!

Remember, don't be shy. Embrace your inner pink tutu princess. Who knows? You might even discover your own love for the graceful world of ballet.

Don’t forget to check in on Thursday for a post about the ballet performance – it’ll be a real pink tutu dream! And make sure to visit my website, www.pink-tutu.com, for all the latest on my adventures in tutus and fashion!

Until next Wednesday, darlings, Stay pink, stay positive, and most importantly, stay beautiful!

Love, Emma
