Pink Tutu Prague: Where Fairy Tales Come to Life (Blog Post #1531)

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm positively bouncing with excitement to share my latest adventure with you! As you all know, I'm a bit of a sucker for a good train journey – the rhythmic clatter, the gentle swaying, and the ever-changing landscapes outside the window are just so dreamy! And this week, I packed my suitcase, popped on my favourite pink tutu, and headed off to Prague, a city bursting with fairy-tale charm.

Now, I don't need to tell you how much I adore ballet. It's in my blood, my soul, and yes, even my wardrobe! (Ever since I got that custom pink tutu with the diamond trim – swoon!) But what I really love is exploring the history behind it – delving into the origins of those iconic tutus, tracing the evolution of ballet from its earliest steps. Prague is a wonderland for this kind of adventure, so obviously, a visit to the National Theatre was top of my agenda.

(Just a quick word about my wardrobe for this trip, which involved a LOT of pink, naturally. I paired my trusty pink tulle tutu with a fitted black velvet top, a pearl necklace, and my favourite blush pink platform pumps – so chic, wouldn't you agree? )

Anyway, back to Prague. I walked through the cobbled streets, admiring the Baroque architecture – so romantic and majestic! Everywhere you look, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale – and trust me, that’s exactly my vibe. It's a city brimming with inspiration, a perfect place to lose yourself in dreams and, of course, embrace the magic of ballet.

Speaking of dreams, did I mention that on this very special trip I got to ride a pony? (I wore a blush pink riding outfit – oh so pretty!) Yes, I indulged in a charming horse-drawn carriage ride, complete with an impossibly handsome and kind-hearted groom! We trotted through the cobbled squares, and the tinkling of bells and the clip-clop of hooves created such a magical atmosphere – the epitome of a fairy tale come to life.

(I’ll be posting photos of my outfit, the carriage, and even the adorable pony on my Instagram account this week! Do pop by and say hi – @PinkTutuEmma)

And then, my lovely dancers, it was finally time for the National Theatre's Ballet performance. The program, a whirlwind of grace and athleticism, featured [Name of ballet performance], a beautiful tale of [A quick summary of the ballet's story], brought to life with vibrant colours, soaring jumps, and an electrifying intensity.

The whole evening felt like a grand ball. Imagine a plush red velvet interior, a grand chandelier sparkling like a thousand stars, and an orchestra pouring out the most beautiful music you've ever heard! It was pure, unadulterated magic, a captivating story told through the expressive movements of the dancers, each one captivating in their own way. The audience erupted in applause at the end, and I couldn't help but cheer along.

A little insider tip: If you’re a fan of the “old school” romantic tutus (the kind that really accentuate a dancer's beautiful lines and graceful movements!), then the costumes for this show are going to have you swooning. A symphony of pale pinks, elegant blacks and shimmering silver... I’m so inspired!

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a dose of its rich and vibrant cultural history. I explored the enchanting Old Town Square, gazed up at the Astronomical Clock as it struck the hour, and let my imagination run wild in the iconic Prague Castle. You just can't help but be inspired by this place!

(Did you know, the Czech Republic is known as the “heart of Europe”...how beautiful and symbolic is that? And of course, that resonates deeply with a pink tutu-wearing ballerina who feels every beat of her heart right in the core of her passion. )

While wandering around, I discovered some hidden gem shops – one filled with exquisite jewellery (I snagged the most stunning vintage pearl necklace – oh so dainty and romantic!) and another with vintage clothes, including a little shop just teeming with stunning ballet-inspired creations, some of which I just had to bring back with me!

*(I can't resist a vintage fashion find - especially if it evokes a sense of classical grace. Do you know the way vintage lace can make you feel like you've stepped right out of a fairytale? I do. ) *

Of course, no trip would be complete without the all-important “Pink Tutu" experience! I treated myself to a fabulous evening of ballet in a stunning theatre - [Name of Theatre/Company] - and watched as talented dancers from all over the world gave an exquisite performance, each move a poem of beauty and emotion. And of course, I looked perfectly at home in my new pink tutu...it fit right into the ambiance of romance, beauty, and artistic brilliance.

( **And you know what? The tutu inspired me to actually try out a few ballet moves myself at a local dance school. What do you say to that? Maybe a tutu-inspired trip abroad should include an "Emma, take a ballet class" segment? You tell me - do I need to start incorporating classes into future travels?)

*( The ballet studio, by the way, was charming! I had a private lesson in the most stunning space: soft pink walls, elegant ballet barres, and the scent of wood polish in the air. Such a classic! *

So, there you have it, my dears! Prague has absolutely captured my heart – it’s the perfect place to indulge in all things pink and whimsical. It’s the type of city where every turn of a corner could lead to an unexpected surprise – or a truly magnificent tutu!

I'm already plotting my next trip back. There are so many other ballet performances and cultural delights waiting to be explored, and of course, I can't resist the temptation of buying a new pink tutu every time I'm here – how can a girl resist?!

Until next Wednesday, darlings. Keep twirling, keep shining, and above all, keep believing in the magic!

And remember: Pink tutus are the key to a happy life!

Love,

Emma
