Hello, lovelies! Emma here, back from my whirl through Prague and oh, what a whirl it was! I know, I know, it’s a Wednesday, but sometimes a special trip calls for an impromptu blog post, right?
Prague - such a beautiful city, full of magic and, most importantly for me, history! The perfect blend of charming architecture and fairytale atmosphere, it’s no surprise they call it the “City of a Hundred Spires.” And trust me, they’re not lying. I was practically blinded by all the magnificent towers peeking out from behind cobbled streets!
So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty - what’s a ballerina blogger doing in Prague? Well, this past week I decided to indulge my love for travel AND ballet, so I took the scenic train route, the one with the stunning views over rolling hills and adorable villages. Who can resist a scenic journey like that, especially in a fabulous new outfit, eh?
Speaking of outfits - did you see my pink tutu on my latest Instagram post? It’s got the most gorgeous layered tulle with a splash of silver sequin trim, and oh, darling, let’s not forget the matching ballet flats – the perfect footwear for exploring Prague's historical squares!
And speaking of explorations, Prague was just buzzing with life! We saw buskers and street performers around every corner. It was incredible seeing a talented street ballet crew right outside the iconic Charles Bridge. I even had a go myself – a little impromptu jig for the crowds – much to the delight of everyone, especially myself! Let’s just say those pink tutus catch the eye everywhere you go!
However, nothing beats the sheer grandeur of the National Theatre, especially for the "Swan Lake" performance on April 23rd. It was simply breathtaking, from the intricate sets and vibrant costumes to the exquisite choreography, a truly memorable performance. There's something about witnessing a ballet live that takes your breath away and makes the tutu even more fabulous!
Speaking of fabulously historical, did you know the National Theatre was inspired by the magnificent Opera Garnier in Paris? My trip to the opera was something straight out of a dream! From the grand staircase to the lavish velvet interiors, the entire theatre oozed with an air of Parisian elegance. Plus, the "Don Giovanni" opera was just the perfect excuse to dress up in my sequined pink number. You'd be surprised how well it went with a velvet evening bag!
Of course, a girl's got to indulge her love of fashion too, right? Prague has so many incredible boutiques! I snagged some incredible vintage dresses and a stunning new tutu, made with intricate, handcrafted silk flowers. It's the perfect springtime addition to my wardrobe! My personal favorite - a small shop overflowing with vintage brooches. The owner was incredibly kind, letting me try on several and offering insights into the origins of each piece. It's these little moments that make travelling so enriching, don't you think?
And if we're talking about the magic of a journey, how could I forget the pony ride through the Old Town Square. Okay, so it wasn’t exactly a horse, but an adorable little Shetland pony called Pepper! It’s all in the spirit of fairytale travel, darling! It added a whimsical touch to my Prague adventure. Pepper seemed to enjoy the tour too, munching on little snacks of fresh grass along the way. Let's just say we were a bit of a hit with the locals!
Speaking of adorable little things - you just HAVE to get a Czech-made porcelain doll. It was such a charming little gift from Prague and I got one in the most delightful shade of pink – the cutest souvenir! And did you know porcelain dolls in Europe have their own historical origins dating back to the 16th century?
Well, lovelies, my little foray into Prague is coming to an end for now, but it’s not goodbye, it's "until next time". Prague, with its beautiful buildings and fascinating history, was the perfect getaway for this tutu-clad ballerina! It certainly made a pink-tastic memory that I'll cherish forever!
P.S. Stay tuned next week for more travel updates and even more of my adventures in pink tutus. I’ve got exciting things in the pipeline! Until then, keep on spinning, and always remember, a little bit of pink can go a long way!
And don’t forget to join the movement – spread the joy of pink tutus everywhere you go! 💖
