Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, and I'm back with a fresh post, straight from the magical city of Prague! This is post number 1665 for my beloved www.pink-tutu.com website, and as always, I'm bringing you a whirl of pink, tutus, and, of course, the divine world of ballet! ?
This week's adventure has been a dream come true. Ever since I saw a postcard of Prague’s stunning Charles Bridge with the beautiful silhouette of the Old Town, I knew I had to visit. And now, here I am, living the fairytale life amongst its breathtaking architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and buzzing atmosphere! I simply can't believe how lucky I am to experience this extraordinary city, particularly as it was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2027! ✨
So how did I get here? Well, darling, I have a little secret – I'm not exactly a "hop on a plane" kind of gal! I prefer the romance and slow pace of rail travel. This time, I embarked on a whimsical train journey straight out of a storybook, the chugging rhythm a perfect companion to my thoughts on the incredible Prague ballet scene. (Don't worry, you'll be hearing all about those soon!) Plus, you simply can’t beat the leisurely stroll through picturesque countryside! ??
As I've been hopping between beautiful locations across the city (thanks to my adorable pony, Chestnut!), it's been a joy to soak up the sights, particularly those glorious pink and fuchsia-hued facades that are bursting with Bohemian charm. Prague's streets are a sartorial inspiration, filled with chic locals donning colourful threads and vintage styles that just scream "fabulous!" My outfit for this adventure was, of course, a symphony in pink – a blush tulle skirt (naturally!), a delicate pink blouse, and my trusty pair of ballet flats. (Because one can never be too prepared for impromptu twirls!)
Oh, and speaking of twirling...I just can’t get enough of the world of ballet in this incredible city! It feels like a kaleidoscope of talent bursting forth in every corner. It all began with a morning spent in the beautiful building that is the National Theatre. The building itself is magnificent, but I also fell in love with the vibrant National Ballet, which showcases a thrilling blend of contemporary and classical styles. Watching the graceful dancers leap and twirl in the dramatic setting was nothing short of mesmerising!
Of course, no ballet adventure would be complete without indulging in the city’s stunning array of ballet shops! As any self-respecting tutu aficionado knows, a ballet trip wouldn’t be complete without indulging in a little shopping spree! I can tell you, Prague is a paradise for ballet-inspired fashion! From dainty ballet flats to beautiful silks, sequins and tutus galore, my shopping bag was certainly full to bursting! I particularly loved the charm and vintage feel of the independent stores nestled in the cobbled streets - and, you betcha, I couldn't resist snagging a pair of adorable rose-tinted ballet slippers! ??️
But Prague is not only about the ballet; the food is heavenly! From rich, creamy Czech pastries (did someone say “trdelník?!”) to hearty traditional meals, my taste buds have been doing a happy dance! Oh, and I mustn't forget the delicious cups of creamy, frothy coffee served at cosy cafes where I have spent hours soaking in the vibrant atmosphere! Coffee, cake and a good ballet book – doesn’t get much better than that!

Friday 5th May: "Pink Tutu Prague" I am absolutely over the moon to share that this evening is the launch of my very own ballet extravaganza! This is going to be a delightful mix of contemporary and classical ballet performances that I curated personally! ?✨ My beloved audience will have a chance to enjoy an evening filled with stunning costumes, dazzling choreography, and joyful performances that will transport us straight to ballet heaven! The show takes place at the magical Smetana Hall in the heart of the city! (And, just in case you’re wondering, you'll see me there – and no, it won't be on the stage! I’m leaving the spotlight to the fabulous dancers! – I will, however, be sporting the most glamorous, shimmering, sparkling pink tutu you’ve ever seen! ??)
