As always, my trusty suitcase was bursting with beautiful frocks and sparkly ballet shoes – you just never know what a ballerina needs in the capital of Czechia! This time, though, I added a new accessory to my travelling ensemble: a tiny, pink fluffy unicorn horn headband. It just seemed to fit the fairytale atmosphere of this city.
Speaking of fairytales, I landed in Prague after a delightful train journey from Derbyshire. There's nothing quite like the gentle sway of a train carriage as you gaze out at the passing landscapes. It's a moment for introspection and daydreaming, something a ballerina like me always appreciates.
Now, Prague has always been a place of enchantment. The architecture, with its towering spires and gothic details, transports you to a different era. Imagine my delight when I discovered a hidden courtyard tucked away in the heart of the Old Town. It was like a scene from a romantic novel, complete with blooming flowers and a tiny fountain.
Of course, I wouldn't be a true ballet enthusiast if I didn't pay a visit to Prague's legendary National Theatre. Oh my, what a stunning building! But the adventure didn't end there! On the day of my arrival (the 28th of April, for the record, a date that's now etched forever in my memory), I discovered a street performance happening right in front of the iconic Astronomical Clock. It was a delightful little ballet piece set to the sounds of traditional Czech music. Talk about charming!

You never know what kind of amazing displays you'll stumble upon – from mime artists and jugglers to live music and theatre.
