Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Bonanza! (Blog Post #1668)

Hello my lovely pink tutu darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu blog post. This week, I'm whisking you away to the magical city of Prague, the heart of Central Europe! And guess what? I'm not just waltzing around the cobbled streets in my favourite pink tutu - I'm here for the biggest ballet event of the year: Pink Tutu Prague!

Now, you're probably thinking, "Emma, you love ballet, but Pink Tutu Prague? What exactly is that?"

Well, let me tell you. It's the grandest ballet festival you've ever dreamed of! From the 24th to the 28th of May, Prague will be awash in a whirl of tutus, with dazzling performances, workshops, exhibitions, and, of course, my personal favourite - the Pink Tutu Gala!

This year, Pink Tutu Prague celebrates 20 years of enchanting ballet performances! For two decades, they've brought world-renowned companies and dancers to the stage, celebrating all styles of dance: from the elegant and graceful Swan Lake to the energetic and playful Giselle, to the cutting edge contemporary masterpieces of today.

To say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement. This trip has been months in the making, a carefully planned ballet adventure, complete with a glamorous itinerary for this fashionable pink tutu-clad blogger.

But before I dive into my Prague shenanigans, let's have a quick peek into my ballet-tastic week.

From Derbyshire to Prague: The Journey Begins

This time, I decided to do something a little different: I opted for a charmingly nostalgic journey from my little corner of Derbyshire, England, to Prague.

Instead of catching a plane, I found the most beautiful train journey. It was like stepping back in time - polished mahogany carriages, gently swaying with the rhythm of the tracks, a delightful steam engine chugging us along, and views of picturesque countryside. Oh, the charm of the good old fashioned train trip!

But then again, who'd travel without their very own fluffy steed? Yes, I hired a little pony named Pip. Pip is as pink as my tutu, so he blends in perfectly with my pink luggage.

You see, there are simply too many opportunities for fabulously pink-tastic pictures!

And the good news is that Pink Tutu Prague, like myself, supports sustainable travel. It encourages festival-goers to take environmentally friendly options. See? Even with a horse involved, I'm being eco-conscious!

The Prague Pink Parade!

Upon my arrival in Prague, the magic began! As soon as I stepped out of the train station, I saw them – a sea of pink tutus, fluttering around like a symphony of frills. It was truly breathtaking.

People were adorned with dazzling tutus in shades of bubblegum, flamingo, rose, and even a glorious cerise – and every single shade imaginable in-between! It was like stepping into a giant, colourful ballet dream.

Everywhere I went, there was a joyful celebration of dance. It was the perfect opportunity for my newest creation - my sparkly 'Prague Ballet' pink tutu - and I've got some pretty pictures for you all!

(Here, I insert a few carefully curated snaps, showing my pink tutu proudly showcased against the iconic architecture of Prague. I might be a tiny bit biased, but my pink tutu really does compliment Prague's romantic atmosphere.)

A Ballet Bonanza

Now, I must tell you, the festival has exceeded my wildest dreams!

We're not talking your standard 'watch a show, applaud, and go' kind of affair here. Oh no, Pink Tutu Prague is immersive! It's like being sucked into a storybook, but one where every page is filled with dance.

Yesterday, I went to the Nutcracker exhibition, an immersive journey into the world of this timeless ballet. They had this amazing interactive installation where you could step into the 'Land of Sweets' and try on the tutus and costumes of Clara, the Sugarplum Fairy, and the Mouse King! (Yes, of course, I wore a pink tutu, it blended in perfectly!)

Ballerina Bites: Prague Cuisine

Speaking of magical experiences, let's not forget the food. Prague is known for its beautiful cafes, filled with tempting smells and mouthwatering pastries, so delicious!

Now, you know me, I love my pink cupcakes and macarons. However, it is my duty to be an adventurer. This week, I'm challenging myself. I decided to explore the city's rich culinary scene.

Yesterday, I had this exquisite apple strudel. They make the most wonderful cinnamon pastries! And the perfect afternoon tea - scones and finger sandwiches. It was positively decadent.

But don't worry, my dears, even when I'm indulging, I'm mindful of my 'Pink Tutu Perfect' physique! After all, we have the grand Gala tonight, and I've been attending these amazing ballet classes run by the festival - some even teaching new techniques that were a blast from the past, from classical techniques to the graceful, flowy movements of ballet classes of old! I feel like a real prima ballerina in the making!

Fashion Fantasies and Ballet Brilliance

Now, to talk about the fabulous fashion at Pink Tutu Prague. There were amazing designers showcasing the latest in dancewear - it was literally a dream come true for any tutu aficionado!

I mean, think sequins, flowing silk, feathered skirts, and yes, even a generous selection of vibrant pink tutus. There were stunning outfits - everything from contemporary dance looks with intricate patterns to traditional tutus with a modern twist! I even spotted some eco-friendly, sustainable materials used to create amazing pieces – just the sort of thing I like to see!

For the Pink Tutu Gala this evening, I'm wearing the most wonderful pale pink, rose-silk tutu - it was my absolute find in Prague. And of course, a beautiful crown of rose-gold pearls - absolutely regal!

But I am also incredibly inspired to design my very own collection. It would have every colour, from light baby pink to the vibrant fuchsias and hot pinks. And you know, we could have something for everyone! For my dears with more edgy taste, we could do some fantastic black or dark burgundy tutus, or for those who want a whimsical fairy-like design, how about lavender or periwinkle! Oh, I'm so full of ideas! You just wait and see what 'Pink Tutu' designs we will have soon!

Pink Tutu Prague: An Encore!

Right, dears, I have to rush off now, for tonight's gala is not to be missed! But let me leave you with this – Pink Tutu Prague is so much more than just a festival. It's a celebration of art, community, and above all, a joyful love of all things ballet!

If you're even remotely interested in ballet or, well, wearing tutus, Pink Tutu Prague is for you! Just think: all those pink tutus! The beautiful music, the captivating performances, the inspiring dancers – it's like living your very best pink ballet dream!

Don't miss out! Keep an eye on www.pink-tutu.com, where I'll be sharing all the magic with you.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to powder my nose…and check that my tutu looks utterly flawless before my grand entrance at the Gala!

Until next week, my loves! Keep your pink tutus ready for the next exciting blog post. And if you fancy joining me in Prague, well, a pink tutu and a positive attitude are all you need!

Yours in pink and twirls,

Emma xoxo
