Pink Tutu Prague: Where the Dance Takes You (Post 1679)

Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu aficionado, and this week I'm whisking you all away to the magical city of Prague! As the sun rises over the cobblestone streets, bathing the ancient architecture in golden hues, my heart thrums with excitement – not just for the delectable pastries and the charming cafes, but for the grand ballet performance that awaits this evening!

This week's adventure was a whirlwind of travelling! I left my Derbyshire home (after a spot of tutu-related window shopping, of course!), donned my newest tulle creation (a vibrant shade of pink, naturally!) and set off on a picturesque journey to Prague, making my way by train and, believe it or not, pony! (Talk about a tutu-tastic experience!). It was just a short ride to the station, and the gentle rocking motion almost made me want to plié along with the hooves!

Once in Prague, I found myself surrounded by architectural wonders that could only be dreamt of in the most magical of ballet dreams. The pastel-coloured houses lining the narrow cobbled streets seemed to beckon me to wander their alleyways, while the soaring spires of the gothic cathedrals made me feel like I had stepped onto the set of Swan Lake.

Speaking of Swan Lake, I was thrilled to hear that there’s a truly spectacular performance at the stunning National Theatre in Prague on Friday evening! This is no ordinary production; it’s a feast for the eyes with lavish costumes and the most dramatic choreography! And you know me – I simply can't miss a chance to experience such exquisite ballet artistry.

However, before indulging in the magical world of ballet, I just have to make sure I’ve explored every last bit of Prague. I'm determined to find the most elegant coffee shop to indulge in a leisurely afternoon of cake and a pot of strong Czech coffee. The pastries here look truly decadent – I can almost taste the sugar already! Of course, I will document the experience (and the accompanying ballet-inspired outfit – pink and fluffy, of course) on Instagram for all of you to see.

I have a particular penchant for antique shops. And let me tell you, Prague is an absolute treasure trove! The streets are bursting with delightful stores brimming with vintage clothes and quirky trinkets that just scream out "ballerina" to me. Just imagine: an exquisite lace bolero from the 19th century, or a hand-painted tutu adorned with delicate, antique roses. I can't resist the urge to imagine the ballerinas who wore them on the grand stage a century ago.

I’m even planning a visit to the Czech Museum of Music to explore the rich history of classical music and the instruments that have graced the stage over centuries. Imagine a museum devoted to the music that has inspired and moved countless ballerinas across time – now that’s a truly "en pointe" experience!

Speaking of ballet, this trip would not be complete without a ballet class! Thankfully, there are studios offering drop-in classes throughout the city. And you can bet I will be spinning, leaping, and grand jetéing my way to ballerina bliss with fellow enthusiasts! A new class means a new outfit, and I am already scouring my suitcase for the perfect pink tutu (or perhaps a touch of blue for a little bit of Czech whimsy).

Every city tells a story, but Prague is a veritable storybook, overflowing with romantic tales whispered on the wind. From the legend of the mythical Prague Golem to the captivating waltz of the ancient clock tower, there is magic in every corner. It's no wonder that Prague has been an inspiring setting for many great operas and ballets. Just imagine the dramatic choreography!

And what would a ballerina blogger be without her shopping fix? This city offers a plethora of designer boutiques and unique vintage shops. A stop at the Prague Fashion Hub is a must-do for any fashionista! It's brimming with avant-garde and bespoke clothing, perfectly curated for a Parisian flair mixed with Czech whimsy. You know me - I have my eyes on a few pink, shimmering tutus for my upcoming performance in the park.

I’m so thrilled to share all these delightful experiences with you through my weekly blog posts on www.pink-tutu.com. So keep checking back each Wednesday for all the exciting details! Don’t forget to check out my Instagram too, where I'll be posting daily pictures of my adventures in Prague – from elegant cafés and fairytale alleys to enchanting ballet performances and my daily dose of ballet-inspired shopping!

Until then, stay rosy, and remember: never stop twirling!
