Pink Tutu Prague: Post #1696 - Where Pink Is the New Black (And Tutus Are Always In)

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, fresh off the train from Vienna, ready to paint Prague pink! As you know, my Wednesdays are for Pink Tutu Travels, and this week, I'm delighted to be bringing you a glimpse into my glamorous life in Prague, a city bursting with romance, history, and of course, fantastic ballet performances!

Let me start by saying, Prague has stolen a piece of my heart! The architecture is like a fairytale come to life - those majestic spires, cobblestone streets, and charming bridges... I feel like I've stepped straight into a Mozart opera!

Now, the train journey from Vienna was just heavenly! I mean, it's not often I get to enjoy a journey by train in my Pink Tutu, but luckily, I met the most charming conductor, who just loved my outfit! He even gave me an exclusive carriage for my own! Talk about pampered! We shared stories, he told me all about Czech history, and we even giggled over some delightful vintage ballet posters he'd brought along. I tell you, travelling by train just makes me feel so alive and full of excitement. It's a great chance to truly appreciate the countryside, take in all those charming little towns, and let your imagination run wild.

And when I finally reached Prague, the magic truly started. Firstly, let's talk shopping! Because what's a trip to a new city without indulging in some delightful retail therapy, right? I spent the afternoon waltzing around the boutiques of the Old Town Square, finding myself some gorgeous vintage treasures and the perfect Prague-themed tote bag, of course. A splash of pink sequins was added, because let's be honest, I just couldn't resist.

However, my main objective for this week in Prague was ballet, darling! The Czech National Ballet is legendary, and you just cannot visit Prague without experiencing the magic of their performances.

Here’s the lowdown on what I’m going to see:

Tonight, I’m headed to the exquisite Estates Theatre, built in the 18th century - talk about elegance and grandeur! The program features "The Sleeping Beauty" and it’s a must-see for anyone who loves classical ballet. The beauty of the story, the breathtaking costumes, and the magical choreography... I'm positively giddy!

Now, a bit about the history of the Czech National Ballet, because every tutu aficionado loves a good dose of ballet history, right? The Czech National Ballet traces its roots back to the 19th century and has been a beacon of artistic excellence in the heart of Europe. It boasts some phenomenal ballerinas and ballerinos, and you just know it’s going to be an exquisite show!

My darling, don't think for a second that I'll be forgetting about my trusty Pink Tutu while in Prague! I have to be strategic, though. I plan to catch some spectacular performances at the National Theatre. Oh, but what about a street ballet performance you might ask? A fantastic one! Prague's old town square transforms into a stunning dance floor when the annual Dance Prague festival comes to town in the month of June. And imagine, for the month of June, I get to spend 30 whole days enjoying a dazzling array of dance, street food, and a touch of that classic Prague atmosphere!

But why a pink tutu? For me, it’s more than just a fabulous piece of attire. It's a symbol of joy, passion, and boundless creativity. And darling, let's face it - pink is the most joyous, feminine colour ever! You see, I want to encourage everyone, everywhere to wear their own personal Pink Tutu, whether it's a literal tutu or just a way of approaching life with enthusiasm and a touch of whimsy!

My darling, stay tuned for my next post! I will be sharing some gorgeous pictures and stories from the ballet performances I’ll see in Prague.

In the meantime, may your days be filled with the beauty of dance, the enchantment of travel, and a dash of pink, of course!

Your Emma, The Pink Tutu Blogger
