Hello, darling tutu enthusiasts! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back from Prague with a heart full of pirouettes and a suitcase brimming with chic, new finds. This week, it’s Wednesday, the day for a little Pink Tutu travel blog magic and what a day it has been, darlings. Oh my, Prague was absolutely divine, all cobbled streets, pastel-hued buildings and a charming energy that felt straight out of a ballet fairytale.
I landed in the city on Tuesday morning, my arrival timed to perfection for a cheeky spot of retail therapy in the historic Old Town Square. It was like a fairytale. You know how much I adore fashion, and oh darling, the boutiques in Prague! Every store seemed to hold treasures, each shopfront more glamorous than the last.
After my spree, I decided to delve a bit deeper into the history of this beautiful city. Did you know Prague Castle, perched atop a hill overlooking the city, was once the seat of the Holy Roman Emperors? Honestly, so fascinating! I spent a blissful afternoon exploring the castle's intricate chambers and soaking up the incredible views across the city.
Prague, for me, was definitely about getting that elegant "Belle of the Ball" look. You simply cannot come to Prague and not wear a gorgeous, long ball gown or at least something sparkly! Of course, my choice had to be a shade of pink! Now, let’s talk pink. Think candyfloss, bubblegum, salmon and blush - I can never resist a pop of pink, no matter where I go!
In the evening, I couldn't wait for a ballet performance at the Estates Theatre, Prague’s oldest, surviving theatre. Oh, my darlings, it was glorious! The building is a true architectural treasure, full of intricate details. It has this wonderful, elegant aura, all rococo grandeur and golden accents - oh my! I fell instantly in love with it!
That evening I slipped into a delightful tulle dress - very princessy, darling - that I’d just bought at that exquisite shop called “Le Printemps,” near the river. The dress was, naturally, pink and matched the vibrant, rose-gold embroidery on my ballet flats.
The ballet was “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky, which was perfectly fitting since it was nearly Christmas! The costumes were so beautifully done! You really felt like you were entering another world - oh my, a total fairytale come alive. The dancers, oh they were magnificent, especially the ballerinas with their incredible pirouettes and grand jetés - divine!
During the interval, I enjoyed a delicious apple strudel and a lovely cup of chamomile tea in the plush, velvet-lined theatre cafe.
In Prague, ballet was just one highlight, darlings! Let’s be honest - my wardrobe definitely needed some additions, especially now that it’s spring! A trip to a flea market and antique shops, along with exploring the city’s vintage fashion scene - a true pink tutu adventure, darling.
Every evening after ballet practice (oh, did I mention, I even managed to fit in a ballet class at a fabulous school near the castle!), I went out to try a different restaurant for dinner. There’s a reason Prague is known for its cuisine! Honestly, it is a culinary dreamland. From tender, buttery pork knuckles to flavourful Czech soups and scrumptious smoked meats, my tummy was utterly delighted, I tell you. It was a ballet lover's food paradise, and all with a pink theme, of course, my Prague Pink Ballet Tour - don’t you just love it?!
Each morning began with a delightful cup of coffee with a splash of cream in a charming café tucked away on a quiet side street, so charming, it's the kind of café you dream of finding. There’s also the divine pastries and the most incredible bread. It is quite heavenly! And a quick trip to the florist for the most vibrant pink roses.
On Wednesday (and yes, it was a Wednesday because we are always, always in sync with the Wednesday Blog, don’t you love it?! ), it was time to hop aboard a train - well, not just any train darling, but a horse-drawn carriage. So, yes, imagine a magnificent black stallion and a sleek carriage adorned with velvet cushions and satin trim - a delightful throwback to a more elegant era - such style! This carriage was heading towards the stunning Petřín Hill for breathtaking views of the entire city. We even rode past a little Charles Bridge which I heard was also named Kamenný Most in Czech - beautiful and a perfect spot to pose for photos! My Tutu and I, my darlings, looked utterly glamorous!
The view from Petřín Hill, well it is absolutely unforgettable! Oh, how beautiful, so green and tranquil and oh, my Tutu! It just looked divine against that panoramic backdrop!
Now for something you all really need to know – my pink Tutu love story has gone stratospheric - you all really are going Pink Tutu crazy! Oh, my, you know my Tutu, darling? It's become quite the fashion sensation! All those lovely girls wearing Tutu’s around the world, just like me - you know I am so proud, it’s what I want! Every single girl, every single woman on the planet - my mission darling, is for you all to embrace the beauty of a Tutu!
Prague, I am absolutely besotted with you! Your charm, beauty and your history has stolen my heart! My only regret is that I have to leave you. But worry not! My pink Tutu is planning a grand return very soon!
Keep sparkling and let your spirit soar, just like my Tutu! Until next time my darlings!
