Hello lovelies! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and this week I’m writing to you live from the utterly enchanting city of Prague. I know what you’re thinking – “Emma, Prague? Why are you so far away?” Well, darlings, there’s no place quite like it for a ballerina, and with a fabulous ballet performance booked for this week, I simply had to visit.
Now, you know I'm a huge fan of travelling by train, it's such a chic and relaxed way to soak up the scenery and lose yourself in a good book (and a pink tutu, of course!). My journey from Derbyshire was a dream – I opted for first class on the Eurostar for ultimate comfort, settling in with a latte and the latest ballet magazine. Watching the countryside whizz by, feeling the rhythmic chug of the engine and gazing out the window at the changing scenery, felt very much like an elegant, gliding pirouette!
My first stop, once I reached Prague, was naturally a charming boutique dedicated to all things ballerina! Now, let's be honest, shopping is just as much a part of ballet as the dance itself. You can’t have a beautiful ballet without a dazzling costume, and the same applies to a glamorous city break. I snagged a darling pink tutu, with the most delicate floral embroidery and layers of shimmering tulle – simply perfection!
Prague, for all its gothic grandeur, is a fairytale come true, especially for a girl with a penchant for pink and a love for everything tutu. Every corner seemed to shimmer with romance, the architecture was breathtaking, and the cobblestone streets whispered stories of artists and ballerinas. It felt like I'd stepped into a scene from one of my favourite ballets, "Giselle." Speaking of which, it’s absolutely fascinating how many ballet-themed sites Prague boasts. Did you know there's a delightful café right by the Charles Bridge with "The Swan Lake" as its theme? You can imagine me swirling through it in my new pink tutu – perfect for ballet-inspired Instagram shots!
The city itself is an endless dance of charm. The bustling street markets are overflowing with unique trinkets, souvenirs and beautiful hand-painted ceramic items. Imagine my delight when I found the most gorgeous pink ballerina porcelain dolls! Now, if you are a girl with a sweet tooth like me, then the sugary wonders found in the pastry shops will be the highlight of your trip! Forget croissants, Prague is the land of delightful pastries and cakes that will have you skipping and twirling in the street like a happy little Sugar Plum Fairy.
However, the biggest reason for my visit, my lovelies, is the "Pink Tutu Prague Ballet" taking place this Wednesday. Now, I don’t want to spoil all the surprises, but I can tell you this much: the show is a masterpiece, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary flair, set against the backdrop of some of Prague’s most stunning locations. Picture this: beautiful ballerinas in shimmering pink tutus, dancing gracefully across the historic Charles Bridge!
Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop for my ballet passion! The performance is simply unforgettable and I'm certain it’ll inspire you all to step into a pink tutu (just like I am!), take a ballet class and feel like a princess in a romantic fairy tale. The city itself is enchanting – it truly has a magic all of its own! And trust me, there is nothing more fulfilling than stepping into the stage lights of the beautiful city, showcasing your grace and your beautiful, delicate, soft pink tutu in front of an audience who will adore you and your dazzling performances!
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, I managed to find an incredible vintage store tucked away in one of the charming cobblestone lanes. You’ll never believe what I found! It was like a tutu wonderland! An old vintage pink tutu, adorned with intricate embroidery, that looked like it had stepped right out of a turn-of-the-century ballet production. My, oh, my – It is truly a dream! I practically pirouetted out of the store, thrilled beyond words. I’m certain I’ll be dazzling in it in future performances, darling!
I’ll be back here again next week, giving you all a tour of my favorite vintage stores, telling you about some fabulous new additions to my wardrobe, and showcasing the stunning historical dance sites of Prague. So, darling readers, join me next Wednesday, for more of this breathtaking city! But don’t worry, I'll bring back plenty of Prague charm and fairytale inspiration, and don’t be surprised if I sneak in a little ballet move or two into your next week.
See you then, and don’t forget to slip into your pink tutu and pirouette your way into a joyful week!
Until next Wednesday,
With love and tutus,
Emma.
