Prague Calling! Pink Tutu Takes On the City of a Hundred Spires (Blog Post #1754)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous pink-tutu.com blog post. And guess where I am? Prague, of course! This magical city has been calling to me for ages, whispering tales of ancient castles, cobbled streets, and breathtaking architecture. It’s everything I've dreamed of and more, and I can’t wait to share every glittering detail with you all.

I must say, even the train journey was a treat! Riding through the picturesque countryside with the wind whipping through my hair, I couldn’t resist twirling my tulle and soaking up the scenery. Oh, and did I mention the little pony I rode in Prague itself? Well, maybe he wasn't exactly "little" – he was actually quite a handsome fellow - but he trotted us through the Old Town Square like it was a stage for our very own ballet performance!

But, of course, the highlight of my trip, so far, has been the exquisite #PinkTutuPrague Ballet performance I attended last night. A gorgeous rendition of "Swan Lake" with exquisite costumes that perfectly embodied the ethereal beauty of the story. The music swept me away, the dancers flowed with grace, and the energy in the theatre was electric. And I absolutely adore how Prague’s majestic architecture perfectly frames the beauty of these ballets.

Before we delve into the artistic side of Prague, let's chat about the essentials, shall we?

Fashion and Prague

Prague is a fashion lover's paradise, filled with boutiques boasting unique designs and charming little shops filled with bohemian chic. Of course, I’ve been indulging in a little retail therapy, as one does! I even managed to snag a stunning crimson velvet jacket that screams Prague to me – you'll see it in the pictures, of course! And, speaking of fashion, let's talk tutus!

Prague is a dream come true for a tutu aficionado like me. I was captivated by the historic costume shops – you know, the ones bursting with old velvet and lace, smelling of sawdust and vintage elegance? Oh my, the tutus there are just breathtaking – with the delicate layers, the elaborate embroidery, and those dreamy hues. And you know me, I had to get myself one! A glorious fuchsia number, naturally!

A Pink Tutu’s Guide to Prague

As always, I've been keeping a meticulous record of everything amazing I've discovered in Prague, and I’ve got a list of pink-tutu-approved gems just waiting to be explored. I hope you're ready for this, dear reader, because we're about to go on a fabulous journey:

*1. A Culinary Symphony: *

Forget boring hotel breakfasts! Prague is a foodie paradise. I absolutely devoured my first “Svíčková na smetaně,” a tender roast beef in creamy sauce, a must-try dish! And the Trdelník (chimney cake) is a delight. It’s basically sugary spun magic, with an aroma that could bring any princess out of a fairytale! And don't forget the sweet, sparkling Czech beer – perfect for a toast to the city!

*2. Dance with History: *

No trip to Prague would be complete without experiencing its captivating history. The Prague Castle is a magnificent spectacle, with its labyrinthine corridors, Gothic spires, and rich stories whispered within its walls. And, just outside its shadow, you'll find the Golden Lane, a narrow street with little fairytale houses, each with a unique story.

And, naturally, Prague's artistic spirit shines brightest within its breathtaking National Theatre. I have a little dance schedule already set up – a contemporary piece tomorrow and then a grand ballet the following day. The energy in these theatres is just magnetic, and I find myself enthralled by every aspect of their artistry!

*3. Embrace the Charm: *

Prague isn't all majestic architecture and grand palaces, you know. It’s also a city overflowing with vibrant little streets filled with charming cafes, bohemian shops, and bustling markets. I’ve lost myself in the intoxicating scents of the flower market, had my fill of local honey at the farmer's market, and, most importantly, snagged some absolutely divine hand-painted jewellery from a tiny shop tucked away in a side alley!

*4. Bridge to Wonderland: *

I've spent hours wandering along the beautiful Charles Bridge, where its Gothic majesty frames a dazzling panorama of Prague. The Charles Bridge is simply iconic, the ideal spot for photos and simply appreciating the beautiful Prague sky. Oh, and have I mentioned the street performers? They really are magical!

*5. Finding my Prague Fairy Tale: *

What is a tutu-wearing princess's favourite destination? The Czech Republic? You bet! I can't deny that the Czech Republic is my new favourite country. Every corner here offers a delightful surprise – like finding an unexpected medieval square filled with life or encountering a fairytale castle hidden in the woods. This truly is a city of enchantment and wonder, it's a place where magic resides in every cobbled street and story in every stone.

The Art of It All (And Some Pink Tutu Fun)

So, the ballet, as I mentioned, was incredible. A truly memorable performance with incredible dance moves and a beautiful set and costumes. Of course, I couldn't miss a photo op in my tutu – you know how much I love matching my outfit to the spirit of a city.

The #PinkTutuPrague look involved a simple pink tutu with a little white ruffle and a stunning crystal-studded hairband. It’s always about bringing a little touch of ballet elegance, whether I'm on stage or just shopping around a market.

Now, I have to tell you, after such a phenomenal evening at the ballet, I took a detour – a pink-tutu approved tour, if you will. I wandered through Prague's artistic heart. From the Old Town Square, with its fascinating astronomical clock, to the ancient synagogues of Josefov. I've found an artist who captures the spirit of Prague, and you'll be seeing some gorgeous photos of her works soon, so be sure to follow the blog!

Pink Tutu Fashion and A Touch of Pink

Speaking of style, Prague has inspired my inner fashionista in a truly magical way. The architecture here is full of soft pinks and warm pastels, so my look has taken on a beautiful pastel, romantic edge. My favorite dress for Prague is a delicate pink lace creation, which I've been pairing with simple ballet flats, a classic pink bow, and my beloved crystal hairband – you see the pink theme running strong through my travels.

And, while I've been wandering the streets and exploring the museums, my latest obsession is finding a unique local souvenir to bring back with me. Prague is famous for its beaded jewellery and intricate ceramics, and I am absolutely smitten! You'll have to see the beautiful things I found to remember Prague, just check my Instagram! (Let's face it, I'm sure they will match my outfit perfectly! ).

And here is the little pony! How lovely to ride a pink tutu around Prague – don't tell him he's my unicorn but he looks the part to me! Don't worry I had to wear my full ballerina skirt as a tutu because of his horse smell (don’t tell anyone, but the pink tutu was tucked into a bag!)

I’ve had some truly magical moments in Prague, which brings us back to my ultimate dream – to make the world pink tutu-fabulous. And in this beautiful city, with its own blend of magic and history, I believe my pink tutu dreams will come true. It’s a place that’s embraced the beauty and enchantment that pink tutus represent, making it the perfect spot to dance your worries away, twirl through time, and leave with a heart full of wonder!

Until next week, remember – the world is a beautiful ballet, and every girl deserves to wear a pink tutu. Stay tuned, darlings. There’s a whole lot more Prague adventure to come!

Emma xx
