Prague, my love, and the Pink Tutu Ballet! - Post 1756

Well, darlings, it’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another pink-tastic blog post! This week, I’m bubbling over with excitement because I’m in Prague, the city of bridges, beer, and...believe it or not…ballet!

Yes, you heard right! This beautiful, historic city is home to an impressive ballet scene, and I'm thrilled to be here to experience it firsthand. My pink tutu has, of course, come with me - how else could I navigate the cobbled streets and stunning architecture? You know I’m all about #TutuTravel.

I have to tell you, Prague is absolutely enchanting. There’s an ethereal beauty in its old-world charm. Think winding streets, pastel-coloured buildings, and breathtaking views of the Vltava River. The fairytale vibe definitely lends itself to my favourite pursuit - ballet! ?

But before I delve into the wonders of the Prague ballet scene, let's chat about my journey! Remember those glorious old-fashioned trains that feature in all those grand European films? Well, I took one all the way from Derbyshire. It was a truly delightful experience - not as fast as the Eurostar, but oh, so much more romantic.

It's all about the journey, isn't it?

You know how much I love ponies, right? Well, I even took a short, scenic ride with a majestic, pink-furred pony named Rosie! It wasn't exactly a horse-drawn carriage, but still! She led me right to a secret square, hidden amidst a maze of cobblestone alleys. I was the only person in sight, surrounded by fragrant lavender bushes and the sounds of chirping birds.

I sat down on a stone bench, with Rosie grazing nearby, and I just soaked it all in. This quiet moment was a beautiful counterpoint to the whirlwind of my busy ballet life, a perfect example of how travel gives me space to reflect and find peace amongst all the tutu twirling!

The Ballet Magic of Prague

Speaking of tutus, have I told you about the Pink Tutu Ballet company? It’s a dream come true! This phenomenal group of dancers, with its dedication to innovation and beauty, performs regularly in Prague's stunning opera house. And let me tell you, it's more than just ballet - it’s a journey, a feast for the senses!

Today, January 31st, 2029, I'm headed to the opera house for a special performance of The Sleeping Beauty, a ballet that always resonates with me because of the classic fairy tale aspect. And yes, I’ll be sporting my newest, hand-beaded, bubblegum-pink tutu. You know I like to match the occasion! ?

While we’re on the topic of tutus, I’ve been indulging in some fabulous Prague shopping sprees. The city is overflowing with designer boutiques and quirky vintage stores, so naturally, I had to pick up some fabulous accessories for my ballet wardrobe. Let’s just say my suitcase is getting a little full…but in the most delightful way! ?️

Prague Fashion - It's a Love Story!

Now, when I'm not watching ballet performances, you can find me soaking up the local fashion scene. The ladies of Prague have an incredible flair for style, combining a modern sensibility with a love for tradition. I've spotted some absolutely darling pink ensembles and the cutest little ballet-inspired dresses that make my heart sing! It's been so inspiring.

I can't resist buying myself a couple of statement pieces to take home, like a vintage hand-painted silk scarf and a pair of gorgeous, handmade leather ballet flats. It wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu blog post without a dash of sartorial fun! ?

Beyond the Ballet - The City of Dreams

Evenings are another magical part of my Prague experience. The city comes alive with vibrant street performances, especially around the Charles Bridge, which is bathed in warm, golden lights after sunset. Imagine, you're walking along this historic bridge, and you stumble upon a group of talented street musicians playing some captivating melodies. Or perhaps you see a troupe of acrobats showcasing incredible feats of strength and flexibility. There's a certain charm and energy in these spontaneous performances that I simply adore. ?

Oh, and have I mentioned the food? The cafes are divine, filled with the scent of freshly baked pastries and delicious coffee. Don't even get me started on the beer. I've been trying all sorts of local brews and am happily embracing my inner Czech beer aficionado! I've also discovered a wonderful little tea room called The Butterfly Garden, a place where the tea is as colourful as the butterfly murals on the walls. The cakes are delightful! ☕️?

Prague really does have it all - from historic charm to bustling markets, vibrant art to beautiful architecture, captivating music and the thrill of discovering hidden alleyways, each one with its own captivating story to tell. But it’s the ballet that keeps bringing me back. It’s not just a passion, it's a lifestyle, a constant source of inspiration, and one that I want to share with everyone!

You know what I'm saying, darlings? Everyone needs a little pink tutu magic in their lives. ?

Until next time, stay twirling,

Emma x
