Hello my darling dears! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the cobblestone heart of Prague! I've just touched down, and already this city is painting the most beautiful blush on my cheeks – literally, with its pastel houses and stunning sunsets! This week’s blog post is all about the wonder that is Prague, a city brimming with history, beauty, and a generous helping of fairytale charm.
The journey was a complete dream, as always! My faithful steed (who else could it be but my trusty pony, Chestnut?) carried me through rolling green fields, the air fragrant with the scent of wildflowers. He knows, as I do, that travelling by train can be delightful, but sometimes there's simply no replacement for the wind in your hair and the thrill of a good canter!
As soon as we arrived in Prague, my heart did a little pirouette! The city seems to be plucked straight out of a ballet: elegant architecture, twisting lanes, and bridges whispering stories in the breeze. Everywhere I look, I see inspiration for my next dance piece!
Now, I must tell you about the most divine dress shop I stumbled upon! It's tucked away in a narrow alley, right beside a chocolatier, with the most enchanting windows, adorned with frothy lace curtains and vintage mannequins. It's a veritable pink paradise, with tulle swirling on every hanger and sparkling sequins like stars on the ceiling! I haven't resisted a little retail therapy yet, but believe me, the sheer quantity of dreamy frocks will leave me positively en pointe for weeks.
And talking of enchanting, I must tell you about the ballet show I’m attending tonight! I’m so excited to be seeing "La Bohème" at the National Theatre, one of Prague's most prestigious theatres. This is a real treat, my darling dears, as it’s such a classic ballet, with its powerful story and breathtaking choreography. I have no doubt it will leave me completely mesmerized.
Speaking of mesmerized, I spent the entire morning exploring the magnificent Prague Castle. I’ve never seen such a magical fortress! We were led on a guided tour through grand halls and opulent rooms, learning about its fascinating history, and its role in the Czech Republic’s journey.
Before I lose myself in the swirling details of Czech history (trust me, my little birdies, it's a whole other blog post waiting to happen!) let me tell you about what's been making my ballerina heart flutter in Prague. The food! Oh, my dear dears, it is just heavenly! Think melt-in-your-mouth pastries dusted with powdered sugar, savory dumplings bursting with flavor, and steaming mugs of rich hot chocolate that warms you to your core. My darling pony and I have already had a grand time indulging in local specialties – I'm absolutely living my best "Pink Tutu life" in Prague!
But it's not just about the food, darling dears. There’s a certain feeling that hangs in the air here in Prague – a feeling of beauty, history, and charm. A place where imagination and tradition collide, creating a unique and captivating experience. It's hard to capture it all in words, you simply need to feel it yourself.
Now, it wouldn't be a true pink tutu pilgrimage without a little ballet class, wouldn’t you say? Tomorrow I'll be trying my pointe shoes on the grand stage at the Prague Dance Theatre. Imagine, darling dears! I'm so excited to dance amidst the elegant spaces where the stars of the Czech dance scene have graced the stage. And it’s just an added bonus that the beautiful city will be my stage, too.
Prague is such a vibrant place. With its colourful squares and bustling streets, there's always something to discover – hidden boutiques selling exquisite handmade lace, local artists displaying their unique creations, and a charming symphony of sounds – from street musicians to the clinking of glasses at a cafe terrace.
You know what, my dearest readers, Prague truly makes me believe that magic is real. It's the kind of magic that lifts you off the ground and spins you into a dreamy ballet where time stands still and life is nothing short of spectacular! Oh, how I love travelling. And this trip? Well, it's already a memory I’ll be cherishing for many moonlit dances to come.
See you next week, with more tales from Prague. Remember, my darlings, always wear pink and always wear your tutus – because life is a dance and we are the leading ladies!
Until then, happy dancing and keep sparkling,
Your dearest, Emma
