Prague, darling, Prague! (Post #1778)

Hello my precious pink petals! It's Wednesday again, so let's dive into the world of twirling, tiaras and tutus! This week, I'm positively overflowing with excitement because, you guessed it, I'm in Prague! The city of bridges, the city of magic, the city of… well, I'm just absolutely smitten.

I arrived here a couple of days ago after the most delightful train journey from Vienna (more on that in a moment!), and since then, I've been a whirling dervish of tutus and trinkets. The cobbled streets are like something out of a fairy tale, the architecture is simply stunning, and the air is thick with the scent of warm pastries and something magical (which, after further investigation, turned out to be 'Trdelník', a local cinnamon pastry, darling!).

But before we get lost in Prague's charms, let's talk about the real reason I'm here: The Pink Tutu Prague Ballet, a performance happening on the 4th of July!

You see, dear readers, the month of July is simply bursting with exciting ballet happenings around the world. From the grand ballet stages of London to the charming ateliers of Paris, it's a dancer's delight! However, I knew Prague had to be the place to experience a true ballet adventure.

The Pink Tutu Prague Ballet, a name that just rolls off the tongue, promises to be an extravaganza of colour, grace, and of course, an abundance of pink! They're even featuring a bespoke tutu created by a renowned Czech couturier – oh, the thrill! I can barely contain myself, honestly! It's going to be divine.

And what better way to prepare for a ballet performance than by taking in some stunning ballet performances myself, eh? My journey began in Vienna where I was treated to the Viennese State Ballet performing a captivating adaptation of Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. It's impossible to put into words the exquisite movements of these ballerinas, the dazzling sets and the spellbinding story... it truly was an experience to be treasured.

The train journey from Vienna to Prague was, well, charming, darling. Picture me in my signature pink tutu, sitting comfortably in a spacious compartment, reading my favourite ballet books – there's always a little bit of ballet reading to be done, you see. The windows gave way to stunning views of the rolling Austrian countryside, where the meadows were a perfect emerald green, kissed by fields of golden sunflowers, it was simply beautiful.

Speaking of beauty, you won't believe my shopping haul in Vienna! I just had to grab a few charming trinkets from a delightful shop called "Tutu & Treasures" which was filled to the brim with ballerina-inspired goodies. Imagine... pink tutus for every occasion, little ballerina figurines that would make perfect desk decorations, and darling ballerina themed notebooks - perfect for jotting down my dance thoughts! (Plus, who can resist a vintage tutu adorned with pearl beads, right?) I was absolutely smitten.

Now, I'm in Prague, my lovelies, and I'm completely enraptured by this stunning city. I've spent hours exploring the picturesque Prague Castle and strolling through the picturesque streets. Just a few days ago, I was wandering around the Old Town Square, when I spotted a charming little café tucked away amongst a cluster of beautiful buildings. Of course, I had to stop by. (My stomach never lets me down when it comes to discovering new delights!).

Inside the cafe, the air was filled with the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries. Oh, how I love the sweet, intoxicating smell of pastry. After devouring a delicious slice of strudel (with a generous helping of whipped cream, naturally) I sat in a cozy corner watching the locals go about their day. There was so much vibrant energy and life all around me, the city really felt like it was alive.

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a little ballet inspiration. That evening, I found myself drawn to the enchanting Národní divadlo, or National Theatre as we say in English, which is not only a stunning piece of architecture but also home to an incredible ballet company. I am completely blown away by the mastery and grace of these dancers. I'm pretty sure I spotted a ballet company I saw on TV a few months back, oh how lovely to meet these talented professionals in the flesh!

The ballet I attended, a beautiful production of La Sylphide by the National Theatre's company, left me totally speechless, it was truly magical. And not forgetting, the exquisite details of the theatre - the chandeliers glittering, the opulent red velvet seating - it's enough to make your heart skip a beat! It was like stepping into another world!

I know some of you lovely readers are wondering about my travels so let's chat about transport shall we. Oh, the wonders of train journeys, the beauty of gliding across the landscape. There's a certain romanticism to a train journey, you know, the clatter of the wheels, the soothing rhythmic click of the track - It's an entirely different experience to the hurry and bustle of an airport, darling! And that makes train journeys perfect for my Pink Tutu Diaries.

As a big fan of horses and all things equestrian, a gentle carriage ride in Vienna was a delightful experience. Imagine me, looking absolutely divine, in my most glorious pink tutu, trot-trotting past the beautiful architecture, a feather boa billowing in the wind (a little bit of added drama, you know!), all eyes on me! A real moment to behold.

Now I must share one of my biggest joys! My newest creation, a tutu-licious little outfit made for everyday wear - think pink and oh so charming! (Because why shouldn't a little tutu-licious sparkle be a part of every day, am I right? We can bring the tutu into everyday, darling!).

To make the most of my journey through the Czech countryside I took a rather lovely carriage ride in my new tutu outfit, the tinkling of bells and the clip clop of the horses hooves gave the most gorgeous tinkling rhythm to the afternoon - truly something I will cherish!

As the evening begins to fall in Prague, it only feels right to spend my evening with my Pink Tutu team as we explore some hidden bars and cafes. After all, what better place to enjoy some lovely local cocktails than with a gaggle of gorgeous gals all wearing fabulous tutus, don't you think? We're spreading a little bit of tutu magic wherever we go.

You know, as a ballerina who has always been fascinated by history, I'm simply thrilled to be exploring Prague's amazing architecture, its historic buildings and of course its captivating past. Prague, you're an absolute dream!

However, all good journeys must eventually end (sadly). Tomorrow, I will bid farewell to this captivating city as I venture onto my next balletic adventure. Where to next you ask? I'm keeping that a secret for now, my precious petals! It's all part of the magic, you see? Stay tuned, dear reader.
