Prague: Where the Magic Begins (Post #1791)

Hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from Prague, the city of a hundred spires, and the inspiration for my brand new pink tutu! I know, I know, I'm always talking about my tutus, but honestly, they're more than just a costume – they're my statement, my power, my way of spreading the pink love and a touch of whimsy to the world!

A Pink Dream on Rails

My journey here was pure romance! A trip from Derbyshire by train, yes, a train, my dears! I love the slow pace of rail travel – time to settle in, to admire the changing landscape, to slip into my favourite book (this week, it's The Story of Ballet – I adore discovering all the secret history!). Plus, the perfect opportunity to flaunt a fabulous new outfit. Imagine: pink mohair coat, matching beret, and a tutu peeking from under the hem… Pure magic, I tell you!

And Prague... Oh, Prague is just exquisite. A fairy-tale city of cobblestones, bridges, and towers that scrape the sky. It feels like a waltz straight out of a storybook! My darling little flat sits on a quiet cobbled street with a glimpse of the Vltava River, the most perfect place to practice my pirouettes! The air hums with history, but also with such vibrant life. You just know that Prague will work its magic on you, just like it did on me.

Tutu History on the Vltava River

Of course, a city like Prague has a captivating ballet history! Did you know the National Theatre in Prague hosted its first ballet performance in 1881? A fascinating journey, don’t you think? I’ve been doing some exploring, of course! Prague Castle was dazzling, its opulence just begging for a waltz, while Charles Bridge whispered secrets of bygone days, promising to unlock the heart of Prague's dancing history. There’s just so much to discover, and it feels like a story unfolding at every turn!

And what about shopping? Let me tell you, Prague is a sartorial wonderland! My first mission was a gorgeous pink, oh so delicate lace tutu from a small, hidden boutique in the Old Town Square. The intricate details and delicate swirls had me squealing! But I’ve already picked out a whole wardrobe, my darlings, just in case. You’ll have to wait for the unveiling... but it involves a charming vintage dress, the fluffiest pink feather boa imaginable, and a very daring pair of sparkling pink boots – I think the locals are going to be shocked, delighted, and absolutely in love!

Ballet Under the Stars

The reason I’ve travelled so far, my lovely audience, is the reason that I dance, the reason I share the pink love… I am here to see ballet. Tonight, the most amazing treat – the Czech National Ballet in "Swan Lake" at the National Theatre. You know what? It’s a real gem. This building has seen generations of ballet, and you can feel its legacy thrumming through the very stage.

I must say, I’m thrilled to see "Swan Lake" - the iconic costumes, the drama, the ethereal grace... it all speaks to the enduring power of dance. I can't wait to soak up the beauty and the storytelling of this timeless masterpiece, it always makes my heart flutter like a hummingbird’s wings!

A Day of Grace

Tomorrow will be for the National Theatre and an evening filled with magical movements. It’s an incredible feeling to be surrounded by fellow ballet enthusiasts, soaking up the artistry, the energy. Then, my lovelies, a delicious Prague dinner, with candlelight and whispers – the perfect setting for a fairytale! And finally, a ballet-themed dreamscape to make it all worth it!

And on Friday, I plan to share the excitement of Prague’s enchanting beauty and a peek at a brand new pink tutu... don’t worry, it’s not going to be just any ordinary pink tutu. It’s an ode to Prague! A magical mix of whimsical Prague fairy tales, history, and a pink dream! It’s going to be quite the ensemble – watch this space!

Oh, and I'm also dreaming of a pony ride to the top of Petřín Hill – a truly whimsical Prague tradition, perfect for a pink tutu princess, I do believe.

Keep those pirouettes twirling, and I’ll catch you next Wednesday for more Prague adventures on www.pink-tutu.com! Until then, I hope you find your own piece of pink magic!

Yours in tutus, Emma

P.S. Let’s talk about the pink part of this trip: My fabulous pink, oh so fluffy tutu made a spectacular entrance into this incredible city. It's the perfect complement to the intricate architectural details and cobblestone charm, making me feel like a little ballet princess wandering through a dreamy landscape.

P.P.S. And speaking of pink tutus, are you thinking about making a splash of pink in your own life? Let me know! I'm all about sharing my passion for this magical garment. It’s more than just a costume – it’s a state of mind, a declaration, a whisper of pink happiness.
