Hello my darling tutu-lovers! ??
It’s Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, bringing you the latest from the heart of Europe! Yes, you guessed it – Prague is calling, and this time I've answered the call with my trusty pink tutu, a wardrobe bursting with beautiful blush hues, and my love for all things ballet simmering like a delicious Czech goulash.
This week, darling readers, is all about Prague’s captivating dance scene. From historical ballet companies to charming little dance studios tucked away in cobblestone alleys, Prague is a ballerina’s dream come true. I’m especially excited to tell you all about the absolutely breathtaking performance I caught last night, but let's back up a bit and journey through the beautiful city first, shall we?
Pink Tutu Travels: Arriving in Style
Oh, the thrill of arriving in a new city by train! This week, the sleek bullet train was my chariot, a journey punctuated by the wondrous views of the Czech countryside and a hearty plate of Czech pastries devoured with much delight.
Speaking of delightful… Prague station. Now, that's an arrival worthy of a pink tutu! Picture this: grand vaulted ceilings, echoing with the sound of travellers bustling and whispering, and the warm glow of lights bouncing off the gorgeous architecture. The scent of warm pretzels and hot chocolate swirled around me, tempting me with the promise of a delicious adventure. It was as if Prague itself welcomed me with open arms, saying, “Welcome, darling, and welcome to the pink-tutu revolution!”
Prague's Fashionable Side: A Shopaholic's Paradise
After checking into my gorgeous pink-themed hotel, with its opulent chandelier and fluffy pink towels (and oh my, did they have the most incredible strawberry jam in the breakfast buffet!), my next stop, of course, was the shopping! This city, darlings, is an absolute dream for a fashion-loving ballerina. I found the most amazing shop in the Old Town Square that stocked a collection of whimsical, feminine dresses in the most delightful shades of pink you’ve ever seen. I literally spent the afternoon giggling like a child in a candy shop, surrounded by silks, laces, and gorgeous prints.
Then, because Prague's magic is in the exploration, I went on a leisurely wander, my trusty tutu and I twirling through the charming little streets, past bakeries baking warm treats and colourful street performers sharing their talent with the world. Honestly, I could’ve spent weeks lost in those little lanes, but then I’d miss out on all the dancing!
The Dance: Prague's Ballerina Bliss
I won’t bore you with a long tale of all the captivating studios and companies I discovered during my stay, darlings. You must go explore them yourselves! But I had the most fantastic time exploring the magical world of Prague's dance scene. From watching students gracefully rehearse at the National Theatre, to admiring the intense precision of the professional dancers training at the Prague Dance Conservatory, there's something here for every lover of ballet.
The highlight of the week, though, has to be last night's ballet performance. The National Theatre is magnificent: a stunning building, rich with history, its beauty echoing in the intricate carvings, ornate ceilings, and plush velvet seating.
And then the magic began.
The company, the Pink Tutu Prague Ballet, were breathtakingly good. They moved like liquid dreams, every step fluid and effortless, the dancers' artistry simply breathtaking. It was a a spectacle of graceful storytelling, powerful emotions, and music that lifted my spirit to dizzying heights. The finale was met with roaring applause. Oh, to dance like them!
This performance was just an added bonus, my dear tutu lovers, because even just wandering the beautiful, cobblestone streets of Prague feels like a ballet! The romantic, charming atmosphere with its intricate architecture, cafes overflowing with laughter and stories, and friendly people bustling through its historical square is an artistic and romantic experience all on its own!
Pink Tutu Adventures: Beyond the Ballet
Oh, and let's not forget, darling, the delicious Czech cuisine! This isn't a post about pink tutus and ballet without mentioning the scrumptious food that makes this city sing. Think melt-in-your-mouth dumplings with creamy sauce, the best pork roast I’ve ever had, and a steaming mug of spiced hot wine warming you from the inside. It's all divine, my dears.
But for all you aspiring tutu-wearers, you must be warned: there is always room for cake! I highly recommend sampling Prague’s traditional 'Trdelnik': a sweet, cinnamon-y pastry spun around a wooden stick and covered in delicious nuts and sugar. And for those moments of blissful afternoon tea time, try the traditional Czech coffee, a smooth and flavourful treat!
Sharing the Tutu-Love: Spreading Pink Cheer in Prague
Yes, it's been an amazing trip. Every time I come to this wonderful city I find new delights and exciting adventures. Every moment is an opportunity to spread some pink tutu joy.
Now, I can't reveal too much about how I do this. I might even get a little creative to spread some smiles! However, I'll tell you this. The little things count. And as always, it's the joy, the love and a dash of whimsy that makes the experience truly memorable. After all, a little sparkle and some feminine flair can turn any ordinary moment into an unforgettable ballet.
So darlings, my time in Prague is drawing to a close. But one thing's for sure, I'll be returning again soon, ready to continue this fantastic tutu adventure!
Until next week, keep those twirls high and embrace your inner pink!
Lots of love,
Emma ?
