Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! Post #60

Hello lovelies!

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a new post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, globetrotting fashionista! This week, I'm bringing you the latest from the Eternal City - Rome!

I can't tell you how excited I am to be here, because frankly, I'm absolutely bursting with excitement! From the cobbled streets to the ancient ruins, this place is dripping with history and romance, and you just know it's going to inspire a whole load of fabulously stylish outfits!

Now, before I get carried away, let's get back to the journey. You guys know I'm a huge fan of train travel. I mean, who doesn't love a scenic view while whizzing through picturesque landscapes? It's the perfect time to get those creative juices flowing, or to simply relax and catch up on the latest ballet blog posts (hint, hint, that's me! ;)). This time, I boarded the Eurostar at Gare du Nord in Paris and took the direct train straight into Roma Termini. It was so smooth and effortless - just like a pirouette!

First Stop: Fashion Shopping Frenzy!

Upon arrival in Rome, I decided to indulge in a little bit of retail therapy. Let's be honest, any opportunity to add to my already impressive wardrobe is an opportunity I simply cannot miss. Now, you know I have a soft spot for a statement piece, so what did I stumble upon but a fabulous vintage, pink tutu in the window of a quaint little boutique! Talk about serendipitous! Needless to say, it found a home in my suitcase and will be gracing the cobbled streets of Rome this weekend, let me tell you.

Speaking of style, the Romans definitely have a knack for it. Think classic elegance with a touch of bohemian chic, the kind of outfits you dream about finding in vintage shops back home. And don't even get me started on the beautiful accessories! Every woman I see here could rival the chicest dancers in Milan or Paris.

Second Stop: Ballet and Beautiful Performances

Okay, you know I wouldn't come to Rome without seeing some ballet. Thankfully, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma has a packed programme throughout the summer. I was fortunate enough to snag a ticket to a performance of "La Bayadère" by Marius Petipa - and oh, the choreography was exquisite! You all know I'm a bit of a stickler for technique and precision, and this performance was simply flawless.

The auditorium itself was something else! Ornate architecture and stunning lighting made me feel like I was stepping onto the stage myself! And to top it off, there was a whole host of fashion on display - you could almost feel the air electric with excitement! After all, where else can you get this dose of beauty, elegance, and drama in one single night?

Third Stop: Exploring the Ancient City

No trip to Rome would be complete without a visit to the iconic Colosseum, and a climb to the top of the Pantheon's dome was absolutely breath-taking, too. Let me tell you, you never realise just how enormous these structures truly are until you stand before them.

We all know I have a love affair with pink, so when I stumbled upon the Trevi Fountain, I had a very important mission to complete - toss a coin in! With a little hope in my heart (and a perfectly pink outfit, of course), I prayed for a future full of inspiring ballet journeys and enough tutu-filled moments to last a lifetime.

Time to Share a little Rom-Com Fun!

I can't help but feel that Rome is a city designed for love stories. The romantic vibes are just overflowing from the ancient ruins to the bustling market stalls. Everywhere I look, I see couples hand-in-hand, and even I feel a little flutter in my heart. It’s the perfect setting for a tutu-filled romance, wouldn't you agree? It's time for me to dust off my romantic comedy playlist. The music alone is making me feel as if I am already waltzing across a moonlit terrace with a dashing Roman prince, in my very own, tutu-filled fairy-tale. (Sigh!)

Looking ahead to next week: My Rome adventures continue...

So, there you have it, lovelies - another incredible week exploring the magnificent city of Rome! My travels continue and you won’t want to miss next week’s blog. I’ll be bringing you more Italian flair along with a sprinkle of my favorite ballet picks and of course, some pink, pink, pink. And if I'm lucky, I might even convince a local to rock a pink tutu alongside me for a street performance in front of the Trevi Fountain. (Just a girl can dream, right?).

Until next time, keep dancing and keep believing in the power of a pink tutu!

Ciao for now, Emma x
