Pink Tutu Rome - #100 - Ciao Bella, Roma! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น ๐Ÿ’–

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome blog post! This week is a real corker, so grab a cuppa, sit back, and get ready for a whirlwind of pink, tutus, and all things fabulous.

This week marks a very special milestone - this is my 100th Rome blog post! ๐ŸŽ‰ That's 100 weeks of sharing my adventures in the Eternal City with you lovely lot! A huge thank you for being with me on this journey - it's been a total blast, and I can't wait to see where this pink tutu takes me next!

I know what you're thinking - 100 posts?! That's a lot of pink! But I promise you, it's been worth every tulle ruffle. It's thanks to your lovely support, and my dazzling dance performances back in Derbyshire, that I'm able to continue these adventures! This week, I've been feeling so incredibly inspired by all things Roman, from the ancient ruins to the breathtaking architecture, it's just one giant Pinterest board come to life!

Fashion Faux Pas? Not on my watch!

Now, let's talk fashion. If there's one thing I love more than ballet, it's fashion - especially vintage. And darling, let me tell you, Rome has some amazing vintage shops! This week, I managed to find a stunning 1950s cocktail dress, the perfect shade of rose, in a hidden little boutique tucked away in the Trastevere district. It's got those beautiful full skirt layers that twirl like a ballerina, perfect for my evening adventures.

Speaking of twirling, you wouldn't believe what happened last night. I was strolling through Piazza Navona, mesmerized by the street performers and musicians, when I saw it! A troupe of dancers in traditional Roman costumes performing a lively folk dance, complete with twirling skirts, colourful headpieces, and a catchy, upbeat tune! It was absolute magic, I tell you, and I couldn't help but join in for a little jig with them, right there in the piazza!

Art and Soul in Every Corner

While Rome is famous for its Colosseum and Roman Forum, this week, I've been discovering the city's lesser-known, yet equally enchanting corners. My favorite discovery so far has been the Museo di Roma in Trastevere, tucked away in an old Roman convent. The museum showcases the history and culture of Rome through its beautiful art, paintings, and photographs. The perfect place to soak in some history while letting the pink tutu work its magic.

I couldn't possibly leave Rome without paying homage to the genius that is Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery. Words just don't do this masterpiece justice! It's a work of such beauty and power, with that captivating intensity in his eyes and every perfect line of his sculpted physique. It's truly awe-inspiring. And as for the iconic David, well, he might not be rocking a pink tutu, but you've got to admire his commitment to artistic expression, don't you?

Oh, La Dolce Vita!

The food! The food! The glorious, delicious, utterly irresistible Roman food! You all know I'm a girl who loves a good meal, and this city has some real hidden gems when it comes to traditional Italian cuisine. Last night, I had the most decadent carbonara, perfectly cooked pasta with creamy, savory sauce. And let's not forget the heavenly gelato! I indulged in a generous helping of pistachio, and it was a truly divine experience!

On a Train, It's a Whirlwind Romance!

A new adventure is afoot! Next week, I'm off to explore another breathtaking Italian city: Florence! I'm so excited! And naturally, I'm making the trip via train, in style. Nothing beats watching the beautiful countryside whizzing by, feeling the fresh air in my face, and feeling oh so stylish in my pink tutu as I travel! And to top it all off, a fellow ballet dancer (and a real dreamboat!) from Vienna boarded my train at the same time. It seems fate wants to weave a little romance into my adventures this week. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, until next Wednesday, stay pink, stay positive, and stay fabulous!
