Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella!

#PinkTutuRome #Post154 #WednesdayWish #PinkPower

Ciao bellissimo!

Today marks my 154th post and my arrival in the eternal city, Rome! I'm here on a whistle-stop tour of the magnificent monuments, and my heart is already thrumming with excitement for what lies ahead. I flew in from my little Derbyshire hometown, and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like arriving in a new place with my trusty pink tutu in my luggage. It's just begging to be twirled amongst the ancient ruins!

Speaking of tutus, let's take a quick rewind to last week's #PinkTutuDerbyshire performance. The audience absolutely loved the Nutcracker excerpts, and we had a lovely chat with a couple who brought their children to their first ever ballet experience! I truly believe my mission to get everyone wearing a pink tutu is spreading. Each time I step onto the stage, I see smiles in the front row - and that's the real magic, you know? It's about spreading joy, creativity, and the ultimate symbol of twirling joy – a pink tutu!

This trip to Rome is financed by those performances, by the way! I’ve always been passionate about seeing the world, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to fund my travels by sharing my love for dance with others. And, of course, nothing feels more right than hopping onto a train, my tutu bag strapped firmly beside me, and disappearing off on a new adventure.

Rome, you are simply captivating! From the moment I stepped off the train at Roma Termini station, the aroma of coffee, fresh bread, and… dare I say it… freshly-made gelato (oh, my, the gelato!)… the air buzzed with this irresistible energy. The buildings seem to whisper stories of emperors and gladiators, of love and art, of revolutions and resurrections. This place just oozes history!

I'm currently sipping a cappuccino at a cute little café on a cobbled street. I'm surrounded by chattering locals, charming buildings, and, of course, a constant parade of impossibly stylish Italians. I can't get over how well they pull off effortless chic! Their natural flair for colour, their fabulous shoes, their chic hairstyles, even the way they stand… it's almost as if they’re all part of a fashion runway!

But of course, it's not just the fashion that is captivating, is it? The food! The pastries! The charming little squares tucked away off the main streets, filled with families and the sound of laughter… Rome is pure magic. I’ve already eaten the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life (and I have eaten a LOT of pizza!), the pasta was so light it practically floated, and the gelato, oh the gelato… don’t even get me started. Every bite is a culinary delight!

As I finish this blog post, the sun is beginning to set. The orangey hues are painting the sky in a beautiful pastel dream, and the city is settling down after a busy day. It’s a scene so romantic, so full of stories waiting to unfold.

So, what have I got planned for today, my first day in Rome? Well, as any sensible #PinkTutuTraveller would, I'm heading to the Vatican Museum. There’s nothing quite like admiring the intricate paintings and sculptures amidst such opulence. But I'll definitely be sporting a chic pair of platform boots today - walking around ancient ruins is one thing, but the marble floors here need some extra flair, you know?

Plus, I have a special #PinkTutuRome mission planned. I'm going to search out the most enchanting spots, the ones hidden away off the tourist trail. Then, I'm going to have myself a little private ballet performance, twirling with the sunset and the cobbled streets, as my backdrop. It’s about finding your own story in a city, wouldn’t you say?

Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Colosseum. I've already picked out the perfect outfit - a vibrant magenta top with a white tutu layered over some elegant black trousers. A pop of colour, a nod to history, and, of course, a bit of my signature pink tutu! I'll let you know how my #ColosseumTwirl goes, but I'm feeling a little Game of Thrones inspired… or perhaps Spartacus? We shall see!

This evening, after a truly glorious pizza dinner (yes, another one!), I'm going to treat myself to a little ballet show at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Rome’s rich artistic heritage makes it a vibrant place for ballet, and I can’t wait to get a glimpse into its world! I may be a ballerina myself, but I’m always in awe of professional dancers. Their skill, grace, and passion always leave me breathless. This evening, it’s going to be all about immersing myself in a performance – just for me.

Of course, before I leave Rome, I'm planning to visit some of the most fabulous fashion boutiques the city has to offer! I’m eyeing up some divine designer pieces to add to my wardrobe. You know, a new pair of shoes for all those amazing twirling moments… maybe a statement hat for my travels… oh, and that incredible pink handbag I saw online! I’m dreaming big and letting my style soar to new heights in this city of exquisite elegance.

I can't wait to share more adventures, my favourite finds, and my own interpretations of the beauty I'm witnessing in Rome. Stay tuned, darling!

And remember, my friends… pink tutus for everyone! #PinkTutuLove

P.S. Don't forget to check back next Wednesday for another instalment of Pink Tutu Rome, where I’ll be exploring the magnificent Trevi Fountain and all that Roman artistry!

And… Happy #WednesdayWish to all!
