Ciao, darling! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post, direct from the heart of this incredible city! 💖 This week has been absolutely magical, like a whirlwind romance with a dash of Italian pizzazz! ✨
I'm not sure what's more fabulous, the ancient history and incredible architecture, or the endless supply of delicious gelato! 🍨 Speaking of fabulous, let's talk about my outfit! I'm channeling the Roman goddess of fashion today in my gorgeous pink tutu - naturally, it's custom made from the most beautiful silk, with a delicate tulle layer. I paired it with a white silk blouse, my favourite pink ballet flats (matching the tutu, of course!), and a little touch of sparkle. A girl can never have too much sparkle, am I right? 💎 I think even the pigeons were impressed!
Catching a train to Rome...
This week's trip was a bit of a challenge, but all part of the Pink Tutu adventure! I took the train from my beloved Derbyshire - it's always so exciting to board the train, settle into my seat, and watch the world whizz past! The scenery from the countryside is a blur of greens and browns, giving way to the grand expanse of Italy's rolling hills and vineyards - simply divine! 🍷 I love feeling the wind in my hair, the excitement building, ready to embrace the unknown!
Roma! Rome! The Eternal City!
Arriving in Roma (as the Italians call it) is like stepping into a movie set. It's an incredible mix of history and vibrant life, all blending seamlessly, and with that unmistakable Italian energy! 💥 My first stop, of course, was a visit to the magnificent Trevi Fountain. It's even more impressive in real life than in the photos! You can feel the energy pulsating off this magnificent monument. I took my time soaking up the atmosphere, capturing a few snaps for Instagram (it's hard to resist the photo op!), and even threw a coin in the fountain for good measure! Who knows, maybe it'll grant my wish of seeing Rome from a hot air balloon! 🎈
Dance with the Stars - Rome Ballet Performance
Let's face it, a trip to Italy wouldn't be complete without some amazing dance! Luckily, I had the privilege of seeing a performance by the prestigious Rome Ballet company. I am absolutely starstruck! The theatre itself is a treasure, its history evident in the intricate details and opulent architecture. 🏛️ The performance itself was breathtaking - their moves were fluid, graceful, and emotive - a true testament to the skill and artistry of Italian ballet. I sat there with my jaw dropped, absolutely entranced! 🤩 After the performance, I caught a glimpse of some of the dancers in the foyer and managed to secure a quick selfie - squealing with delight all the way! 🙈💖
Food, glorious food!
Okay, we have to talk food. Italians take their food seriously and so do I! 🍝 Pizza, pasta, gelato, and every type of delicious Italian bread imaginable, there's a feast waiting around every corner! I spent the day wandering the charming little streets, admiring the street markets brimming with fresh produce and indulging in the freshest flavours Italy has to offer. It's impossible not to feel happy when surrounded by so much joy and beauty. I tried some truly delicious homemade gnocchi, savouring each bite of this creamy and cheesy goodness! Don't get me started on the tiramisu! It's worth the calories alone! 🍰
A Little Boutique Treat
No trip to Rome is complete without a spot of retail therapy! I had my heart set on finding some gorgeous pieces to add to my ever-growing Pink Tutu wardrobe, and was not disappointed. The cobblestone streets and the hidden alleyways are bursting with stylish boutiques! I picked up some amazing linen pieces, perfect for summer in Derbyshire - because yes, darling, even in the English countryside a Pink Tutu can thrive! 🌺 And, of course, there had to be a few treats for myself – some adorable ballet shoes with delicate pink bows, a silk scarf to tie in my hair for a Parisian touch, and, for good measure, a gorgeous pink beret. (Isn't pink amazing?!)
Fashioning a Legacy:
One of my greatest passions is to inspire others to embrace their own personal style. I know that wearing a tutu is not for everyone, but it represents something much bigger – freedom, self-expression, and above all, confidence. That's what my Pink Tutu journey is all about: spreading joy and reminding people to never lose their inner sparkle. And honestly, what better place to do that than in a city overflowing with joy and artistic flair! 🎨
