Pink Tutu Rome #243: Ciao Bella, Italy! 🇮🇹💖

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome post! I'm so excited to be writing from the Eternal City - Rome! It's like a dream come true.

This week, my Pink Tutu travels brought me here by train, which is one of my absolute favourite ways to get around. I mean, imagine, you’re sipping your latte (which is so much better here!), reading a book, and admiring the scenery – it’s the perfect way to start an adventure. I wore my trusty pink tutu (a brand new one, from the incredible boutique at the Gare du Nord in Paris - you’ll have to see my next post on that!) which definitely brightened up the carriage. Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a splash of colour and excitement, which is why I’ve packed an arsenal of gorgeous tutus – including my beautiful new hot pink creation.

Speaking of colour, Rome itself is such a stunning explosion of beauty! Every cobbled street, every ancient ruin, every majestic fountain - everything seems to whisper "la dolce vita." I felt like I had stepped straight out of a classic Italian film.

A Day In My Pink Tutu

Let's start with today's adventures. This morning, I wandered through the Campo de' Fiori market, soaking up the energy of the local artisans. There’s something magical about the fresh fruit and the colourful flower stalls.

The aroma of fresh bread is enough to entice anyone, but it was the little vintage clothing store hidden on a side street that truly captivated me. I unearthed a vintage pink silk scarf with a beautiful design – a little something to tie in my bun, don’t you know?

As I danced my way (pun intended!) through the backstreets, I stumbled upon the Pantheon - that iconic Roman temple. I was gobsmacked by its incredible scale and elegance! You know, sometimes I can't help but think I might have been a Roman princess in another life – certainly all these stunning structures are giving me major princess vibes! But alas, I am only a simple Pink Tutu Ballerina - but one who is certainly trying to live a life full of elegance and grace (and a sprinkle of fabulous, of course).

My afternoon adventure? The Colosseum! Imagine! This vast arena has hosted gladiatorial combat, animal hunts, and public executions! To think of the incredible history that has happened within its walls! I’m a sucker for a bit of ancient history - it makes me think that even way back then, people were searching for excitement, passion, and drama - just like we do now.

My favourite thing about Rome so far has been finding the quiet hidden gardens tucked away within its busy streets. They're little oases of peace amidst the hustle and bustle, like secret gardens in a fairytale. Today, I discovered the enchanting Giardino degli Aranci (the Orange Garden), with its breathtaking panoramic view of Rome. It’s one of those moments you can’t capture in a photo - a moment that stays with you forever, a reminder of how special this place truly is.

A Delicious Escape

Speaking of special moments, it's no secret that food plays a central role in Italian culture. The flavours, the fresh ingredients, the love that goes into every dish - it’s all a true symphony of taste buds!

This evening, I indulged in a traditional Italian pasta dinner at this delightful little family-run trattoria I stumbled upon near the Pantheon. They even have their own little vegetable garden behind the restaurant - all that lovely fresh produce, yum! It felt so special to be eating in such a traditional and authentic setting. I went for the classic carbonara, obviously – the sauce was divine, it clung perfectly to every pasta noodle. It was just… pure perfection.

Now, if you think that’s enough, think again! This evening I was even lucky enough to see a spectacular opera performance! The opera house was a magnificent and imposing building (I am utterly obsessed with these grandiose structures) and the performance itself was phenomenal, showcasing both dazzling vocals and a fantastic orchestral score! You could really feel the passion and dedication of the performers and that passion really spilled over into the audience, everyone seemed to be lost in the moment and fully captivated by the story being told!

As the last notes faded, and I walked back to my little Roman haven, my head was filled with all sorts of wonderful thoughts and feelings. Today in Rome, I experienced a kaleidoscope of emotions - the buzz of the market, the quiet contemplation in the garden, the awe of ancient wonders, the heart-stopping excitement of a grand opera performance, and the incredible energy that vibrates through every part of the city.

I'm still buzzing from the day, so much has happened, but one thing is for sure: I already know this is only the beginning of my Pink Tutu adventure in Rome. I can’t wait to explore more, delve deeper into the heart of this magical city, and of course, share it all with you!

Stay tuned next Wednesday, for a new chapter of Pink Tutu Rome - Ciao! 💖🇮🇹

*Emma's Note: Just a quick note to all you Pink Tutu lovelies - my adventures in Rome have got me thinking! I’ve been getting so many messages asking me how to rock a pink tutu, where to get them, and what to do with them! So, keep your eyes peeled! Next Wednesday, I’ll be talking all about how to make your pink tutu dreams come true. I even have some super fun ideas about creating your own “Pink Tutu Roman Style.” Let’s unleash the inner pink tutu goddess within! *

This is just a beginning! I hope you've enjoyed reading Emma's Pink Tutu adventures in Rome. To continue this story, you can expand it further by:

  • Adding more details to each event: Emma's visit to the Colosseum, the Pantheon, or the Orange Garden. Imagine her finding hidden treasures (like a beautiful vintage locket), encountering quirky characters (a street artist with amazing pink paint), or maybe even witnessing a street performance (like a spontaneous impromptu ballet act!).
  • Giving us more details about her pink tutus: Describe their specific styles, the unique patterns, or the history behind her collection. What does Emma's "hot pink creation" look like?
  • Including photos or illustrations: Imagine seeing images of Emma’s Pink Tutu adventures – in the Colosseum, dancing through the Campo de' Fiori market, in her “Pink Tutu Roman Style”!
  • Developing Emma's relationship with the city: Show her engaging with locals, maybe even trying out some Italian ballet classes, falling in love with Roman cuisine, and learning some Italian phrases.

Let me know if you'd like me to write more! 💖
