Hello my darling darlings! Itās Wednesday, which means itās time for another pink-tutu filled adventure, this time from the heart of Italyā¦Rome! The train journey here was simply magical! Whizzing through the countryside, the Tuscan hills bathed in golden sunshine, I couldnāt resist taking a million photos for the āgram. And of course, I donned my pinkest tutu, which caused quite the stir among the locals. You canāt travel without a dash of tutus, my loves!
A ballerina's heart, forever smitten with the Eternal City! Stepping out of the station, I felt the energy of Rome pulsate through my toes. This city oozes history and beauty at every corner! And honestly, the aroma of freshly baked bread, pizza and coffeeā¦ heaven. Itās no surprise this city captivates the imagination.
A Ballerina's Day in Rome: An ode to pink!
First on the agenda, my dear, was shopping! Oh, the glorious chaos of Italian boutiques. Each corner, a treasure trove of stylish dresses, flowing skirts, and decadent shoes. You bet I got myself a new pink-hued creation to wear for this evening's ballet show, the Romeo and Juliet performance by the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Talk about Romeo-ing with my pink tutu! š
But before the ballet, I wanted to immerse myself in the heart of Roman culture. So, off I went to the Colosseum! Now, this place is HUGE! It was breathtaking standing in the heart of this historic monument. I could just picture the gladiatorial battles, the roars of the crowd, the sheer spectacle. It gave me an exhilarating buzz, and naturally, I struck a couple of ballet poses amidst the Roman ruins - why not?! Itās a ballerina's duty, darling!
Speaking of ballet, Romeo and Juliet at the opera was divine. The costumes, the choreography, the sheer passion of the performersā¦it moved me to tears. Ballet truly does transport you to another realm. This is why I do it, darlings! To share those moments of pure joy and artistry with the world.
A Roman Evening: Pink perfection!
Now, itās Wednesday evening in Rome, and I am so ready for a night out! I've snagged a gorgeous pink palazzo jumpsuit - fabulous, right? And you just know my trusty pink tutu is joining me for the night. This place is perfect for embracing that Italian āDolce Vita,ā or, as I like to call it, āLa Dolce Pinka.ā š
Tonight, Iām venturing into the heart of Trastevere, the trendy neighbourhood with its cobbled streets and vibrant trattorias. Rumour has it thereās a street performance showcasing traditional Italian dancing. I can't wait to soak in the authentic music and rhythms of Rome! And, well, you know me - I might even sneak in a few ballet moves, just to inspire a few tutus in the crowd!
The pink tutu promise continues: Rome is the epitome of romantic charm and a ballet enthusiast's paradise. And guess what, darlings? There's more where that came from.
Pink Tutu Rome: The week ahead:
- Thursday: A delicious Roman breakfast - freshly squeezed orange juice, flaky pastries, and an extra large cappuccino - viva Italia! Followed by an afternoon of soaking up the sun in Piazza Navona, surrounded by artists and street performers.
- Friday: Exploring the Vatican Museums, marvelling at Michelangelo's masterpiece - the Sistine Chapel! It'll be like being transported to a heavenly realmā¦ in pink, naturally.
- Saturday: A gelato adventure in Trastevere, indulging in all the colourful, flavour-filled treats. Then, maybe a bit of window shopping on Via Condottiā¦ oh, the beautiful window displays!
- Sunday: Heading back to Derbyshire. But not before capturing some of Rome's most iconic sights - The Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and maybe even a spin with some of Rome's charming Vespa riders!
