Pink Tutu Rome: #260 – The Eternal City in Pink! 💖🇮🇹

Ciao bella! It’s Emma from Derbyshire, England, and you’re tuned in to another thrilling adventure in the wonderful world of pink tutus. This week, we’re stepping off the train, ditching the Derbyshire countryside, and landing straight into the heart of Rome, Italy!

I’m honestly buzzing. It's not every day a tutu-wearing ballerina gets to frolic around the Colosseum and soak up the glorious sunshine in the Eternal City. Rome is famous for its historical landmarks, delectable food, and charming atmosphere, and trust me, this little ballerina has plans to explore it all!

Travel By Train: A Pink Tutu-fied Adventure

For this trip, I chose a scenic, comfortable train journey - always a good time for me. With a trusty pink travel tote full of my most treasured tutu accessories (don’t even get me started on the miniature pink tiara I wear for long train rides!), I embraced the rhythmic hum of the tracks and the ever-changing landscape. It’s my preferred method of travel - less hassle, more beauty, and, most importantly, plenty of opportunities to strike a ballet pose or two while catching everyone's attention. 😉

My First Glimpse of Rome

I arrived at Termini Station, Rome's grand train hub, just as the golden light of evening began to bathe the city in a soft glow. It felt magical! My accommodation - a quaint little boutique hotel near the Spanish Steps, exuded the same kind of charming romance that the city is renowned for. Naturally, I donned my most fabulous pink tulle number - this one was a beautiful soft pink with silver sequins, and absolutely shimmered under the warm Italian sunset.

Shopping Spree: The Quintessential Pink Tutu Must-Haves

Okay, so Rome, much like my heart, is filled to the brim with fashion! No trip to Italy is complete without a dedicated shopping spree, and you bet I was going all out. I picked up a gorgeous pale pink silk scarf with intricate gold detailing (perfectly fitting with my evening attire, I must say!) and the most incredible pink and white-striped beret to keep me cool from the Mediterranean sun. I'm even indulging in a brand new pink sequined fan - can you tell I’m already living my Italian ballerina fantasy?!

Wednesday 31st May: Food, Fashion and Flamenco

I spent today relishing the flavours of Rome. Lunch at a traditional trattoria saw me devouring the most heavenly pasta carbonara, and dinner was an enchanting experience in a chic restaurant overlooking the Roman Forum. After a quick but essential post-dinner walk, I was excited to catch a flamenco performance at Teatro Argentina. It was breathtaking - the raw emotion, the powerful storytelling through dance…it left me utterly mesmerized! You might think flamenco is a little out of my usual comfort zone, but trust me, every girl needs a little fiery flair in her life. The rhythmic beats of the flamenco guitar were simply electrifying!

Rome, a City for Every Tutu Lover

If you're thinking of visiting Rome, put it on your list! I truly believe this vibrant city is perfect for the pink tutu-clad traveller. Every corner of Rome oozes historical charm, artful grace, and fashion sense that inspires my every step.

Follow Along!

Of course, you can follow me on my Roman adventures - check out my www.pink-tutu.com website every Wednesday for a new blog post from the eternal city.
