Pink Tutu Rome #335: Ciao Bella! From Derbyshire to the Eternal City!

Hello, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the heart of Rome! As you know, my passion for tutus is pretty much a known fact. Itā€™s practically in my DNA, just as a love for travel and fashion courses through my veins. So, you can imagine my excitement when I landed in this beautiful city on Wednesday, November 7th! The streets are a riot of colour, the air is thick with history, and the aroma of fresh pastries fills the air - what's not to love?

A Fashionable Arrival

You can't go exploring a city like Rome without a chic outfit, and naturally, my favourite shade of pink played a starring role! I chose a soft blush-coloured dress, flowing in the Italian air, and topped it off with a glorious, tulle pink tutu - just a dash of playful elegance! The train journey was just as lovely. Sitting comfortably amongst the locals, I gazed at the scenery - charming towns, ancient aqueducts, rolling hills. Everything felt magical!

The Colosseum - A Stage for History

Rome wouldn't be Rome without the Colosseum, right? And, oh my goodness! The sheer scale of this monument was breathtaking! Standing there, it was easy to picture gladiators fighting and the crowds cheering, each echoing the grand drama that played out on the arena floor. This incredible arena wasnā€™t just a structure of brick and stone; it was a stage for history.

Treasures of the Vatican

A trip to Rome is incomplete without a visit to the Vatican, and what a masterpiece! I confess, I did find the Papal guards with their elaborate feathered hats rather delightful! The Vatican Museums were filled with breathtaking sculptures and Renaissance art. My favourite piece was a truly magnificent marble statue of Michelangeloā€™s ā€œPietĆ .ā€ There's a sense of stillness and beauty about it, a powerful display of art at its best.

The Delightful Taste of Rome

Rome, of course, is renowned for its food, and I was eager to indulge in its delicious treats. Who could resist the delicious smells wafting from every corner? I sampled some fantastic gelato with fresh strawberries, and savoured every last drop of a rich cappuccino. Everything just tasted divine. It was a treat for my senses!

Exploring the City of Seven Hills

As I walked through Rome's ancient streets, I felt the presence of the Romans, hearing their whispers and seeing them in the arches of ancient buildings and the ruins of temples. It's like walking through a history book come alive!

Ballet in Rome - A Perfect Evening

My evenings were equally filled with beauty. The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma had an enchanting performance of "Giselle." Watching these incredible ballerinas float across the stage in graceful movements was a truly breathtaking experience. Their performance transported me into another world.

My Roman Wishlist - Shopping Delights

You can't imagine the number of exquisite shops lining the Roman streets. Just about every corner holds a secret treasure! I couldn't leave without indulging my love for Italian fashion. I'm smitten with a stylish, deep pink silk scarf with a beautiful Italian floral pattern, and of course, a gorgeous, intricately beaded pink bag that will be the envy of all my friends back home!

Ciao, Rome! Until Next Weekā€¦

My journey to Rome was a pure joy. From the ancient grandeur of the Colosseum to the intricate artistry of the Vatican, and everything in between, it's a city brimming with life and magic.
