Pink Tutu Rome: A Ballet-Loving Girlā€™s Adventures! (Post 379)

Hello my gorgeous darlings! Emma here, back with another post from the magical city of Rome. This weekā€™s Pink Tutu travel journal takes us to the heart of the Eternal City, where romance, history, and beauty intertwine like a delicate ballet sequence.

As you all know, my adventures are fuelled by a love of all things pink, tutus, and travelling, but most importantly by the wonderful world of dance! To be honest, I do work pretty hard for these trips. I mean, travelling the world in pink tutus isnā€™t cheap. Thatā€™s why I fund my wanderlust with graceful performances across Derbyshire and the UK. And this week? Well, let's just say, Rome was worth every pirouette!

This week, my suitcase was filled with my favourite shades of pink - baby pink, blush pink, a touch of fuschia for a dash of daring. And of course, I couldn't leave home without a pink tutu or two. Because let's face it, a Pink Tutu traveller needs to make a statement, and what better way than a tutu that twirls with every step?

A Roman Holiday in Pink!

Arriving in Rome on Wednesday, the air thrummed with excitement. The train journey was a treat as usual; I just adore a good train adventure. Itā€™s all part of the fun! And who can resist a carriage window view? Even when Iā€™m not wearing my pink tutu, there is always something lovely about the simple beauty of travelling across the countryside. It's like the journey itself becomes a choreographed movement!

Stepping off the train in Termini Station felt like stepping into a movie scene. The grandeur of the Roman architecture was breathtaking. From the stunning Trajanā€™s Column to the Colosseum ā€“ these were structures that echoed with history and whispers of gladiators and emperors. But what made the entire city even more captivating? My pink tutu of course! You can imagine the stares, the curious glances, but that is the whole point isnā€™t it? Pink Tutu Rome has one aim and thatā€™s to bring a little bit of joy and colour into this incredible city, and you know what? It was working! People were smiling, pointing, and giggling, and it was the most delightful welcome a ballerina could ask for!

After a spot of gelato in Piazza Navona, (Strawberry and cream for me ā€“ it was divine), I made my way to the Teatro dellā€™Opera di Roma. The very air felt electric with excitement and the scent of a delicious promise ā€“ a magical performance of ā€œSwan Lake.ā€ The ornate decor and the breathtaking beauty of the Opera house made for an enchanting experience. Watching the dancers glide across the stage felt like witnessing a dream; itā€™s all those years of ballet lessons coming together in beautiful form. The music was sublime, transporting me to a world of grace and emotion. Every step, every pirouette was captivating and it filled me with an overwhelming feeling of beauty and passion! And as always, my trusty Pink Tutu provided me with that bit of extra magic and added a dash of charm to the occasion! I can't imagine missing it.

Finding Fashion & Beauty: Pink Tutu shopping

But ballet wasnā€™t the only reason I came to Rome. This city is a wonderland for those who love to shop! And when you're a pink-loving ballerina like me, thatā€™s pretty much everything! So after the opera, I couldn't resist a visit to Via Condotti ā€“ Rome's most glamorous shopping street! And as you can imagine I wasnā€™t disappointed. There were all sorts of lovely designer stores and little boutiques ā€“ full of amazing shoes, accessories and clothes, oh my goodness ā€“ and I canā€™t resist anything a bit sparkly. My bank balance did take a slight hit, but, to quote the great Coco Chanel: ā€œA girl should be two things: classy and fabulous,ā€ and in Rome you can be just that, especially if you know what to do ā€“ which luckily I do!

But what was even more exciting? The pink tutu! You know that thing when you know a particular place will be perfect? Well that's exactly how I felt walking around the lovely Via del Corso. I spotted the cutest little boutique filled with frills and lace, with all those darling girly bits. My intuition was spot on, I discovered a beautiful baby pink tutu ā€“ soft and pretty ā€“ like a fluffy cloud ā€“ just perfect for my Roman adventures! And at a bargain price. I mean who can resist a bit of girly loveliness ā€“ just like I knew I would, I bought three! So much for my no shopping plans!

And the foodā€¦ the pizza... oh, the pastaā€¦ It is a joy for a girl with an appetite like mine! Every day brought new gastronomic discoveries: pasta cooked to perfection, mouth-watering gelato flavours, and fresh, delicious cheeses. The streets of Rome, especially after an amazing evening in the Opera House, felt like a fairy-tale land. With each bite of every gelato and pizza, Romeā€™s charm just got stronger, adding extra twirls to every Pink Tutu pirouette!

Whatā€™s next for Pink Tutu?

My time in Rome was a whirlwind of beautiful sights, delicious food, enchanting performances, and oh, yes, plenty of shopping. Every corner of the city whispered of history and magic. You can see this city is very special indeed! And what did my little dance adventures show us? That sometimes, all it takes to make the world a little more vibrant is to wear your heart on your sleeve, or, perhaps, your tutu on your hips! After all, lifeā€™s about making memories. But the best memories? Those are the ones made wearing pink!

Remember, darlings, my adventures in Italy donā€™t end here! Next week Iā€™m on my way to the City of Canals ā€“ yes, Venice here I come! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog for weekly updates on the Pink Tutuā€™s travels. We have more dance performances, fashion discoveries, and, of course, even more adventures to be had. But in the meantime, remember, no matter what your destination or dream is, embrace your passion, spread kindness, and maybe even add a little Pink Tutu magic!

See you next Wednesday for more exciting travels!

Until then, stay fabulous and wear your heart on your sleeve, or, even better, your tutu on your hips! Love you lots, Emma xx.
