Pink Tutu Rome: #412 Ciao Bella!

Hello my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a brand new post from yours truly, Emma, here in beautiful Rome! 🩰

This week has been a whirl of excitement and oh-so-chic adventures, so grab a cuppa, snuggle in, and let me tell you all about it!

A Dreamy Train Journey

First off, let's talk about the train journey, because, honestly, I love the train. It's all part of the romance, don't you think? Last week I was back in dear old Derbyshire, performing at the Matlock Ballet Theatre (you know I can never resist a bit of community ballet!). And guess what? I got a last-minute gig for Saturday night - a proper fancy affair - at the glorious Buxton Opera House! A lovely bit of travelling back up to Buxton by train, and, honestly, you can't beat that feeling of the scenery rushing past while you're snuggled up in your seat, sipping a cuppa and writing in your journal.

This week I'm in Italy, a mere three and a half hour train journey from Milan to Rome. Now, that’s a proper Italian experience – and, of course, Pink Tutu had to be involved! 💅

I packed my prettiest pink case, dusted off my dancing shoes, grabbed a fabulously bright pink floral print silk scarf (can’t resist a good scarf, they add that little touch of chic!), and took my trusty notebook. I was even wearing my pink ballet shoes as a tribute to our fabulous Italian ballerina friend, Carla! Remember her from my Rome Fashion Week post, where she bought me my adorable, oh-so-sparkly, custom-made, pink tutu, the one that actually twinkles under the disco lights?! 🤩 You’ve gotta love that Italian sparkle!

A Grand Hotel and Pink Bubbles

We've got ourselves settled in a grand old hotel in Rome, where they just get how to treat a pink tutu-wearing girl right! The hotel is gorgeous! High ceilings, grand sweeping staircases, ornate carvings... just perfect for dreaming and imagining the most fabulous ballrooms for a truly majestic Pink Tutu grand opening ball! Can you imagine it? Me twirling in the centre, you all gathered around in your own pink tutus… I’m just off to get a glass of pink fizz (because that’s how I like to get my blog posts flowing!) and see what dreams the evening brings…

Exploring Ancient History and Fashionista Finds

Okay, back to reality, back to Rome, darling! We’re exploring everything - the Forum, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain - just breathtaking! It’s amazing how ancient history mixes so well with this modern fashion capital. Today, we ventured down via streetcar (more of an excuse for a Pink Tutu on wheels if you ask me!) into Rome’s beautiful Via Condotti and then onto the Via del Corso. If there’s one thing I love as much as ballet, it’s shopping, and let me tell you - the stores here are just divine! So much eye candy for any girl with a love for all things sparkly and glamorous! ✨ I actually snagged the most amazing silk floral patterned top with a touch of lace at the top and I swear you can hear my Italian heart swooning… just gorgeous!

Dinner and Romance in Trastevere

This evening we are exploring the bohemian Trastevere district of Rome – cobblestone streets lit with string lights, a symphony of music and laughter emanating from restaurants spilling out into the streets, people sipping wine… truly beautiful! The food - oh, the food - has been delicious. I think I have fallen in love with Roman food all over again. Who knew bruschetta could be so good?! I've had the most decadent gelato (that was strawberry and basil, believe it or not – that was the best!) and a fantastic fresh pizza! Honestly, it was divine! I'm dreaming of gelato as I type this… oh, and who needs a romantic night out when the streets are brimming with Italian romance - sigh - beautiful! 💖

Opera Magic and Pink Tutu Dreams

Tomorrow evening, we are headed to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Oh, it’s an iconic place for opera and ballet lovers - I simply cannot wait! Imagine, the grandeur of the old world opera houses, and the amazing performances! I may just have to make a pilgrimage to La Scala while I'm in Italy!

And remember my lovelies, pink is the colour of my heart, so wear your pink tutus loud and proud! If you find yourself exploring the wonderful city of Rome, make sure you check out the shops on Via del Corso. And remember: be bold, be yourself, and twirl your way through life in style. ✨💖

Until next Wednesday, my darlings. Stay fabulous and don't forget to check in with the latest Pink Tutu news on our website www.pink-tutu.com

Love always,

Emma xx
