It’s Wednesday again, and that means another post for the ever-growing Pink-Tutu.com! This week, we’re dancing our way through the cobblestone streets of Rome! Can you believe it's Christmas Eve? Honestly, the festive spirit in Rome is absolutely electric, a perfectly pink festivo kind of vibe if you ask me!
So, let’s take a spin back to Sunday. This gal was feeling fabulously ready for the big trip. Remember that glorious cherry blossom pink tutu I got from the boutique in Derbyshire? The one with the sparkly sequins? Well, it’s been taking centre stage all weekend! I knew this city would be calling for it. Rome is a fashion fantasy, darling! Think cascading velvet dresses, sharp lines, and an abundance of beautiful shoes! Swoon-worthy! So my pink tutu seemed perfectly suited to the occasion. Chic but whimsical - my personal style mantra!
Anyway, I always find train journeys exhilarating. So, packed with my pink tulle, a couple of classic ballet buns ready for some quick styling changes, and a few cheeky ballet-themed accessories, I stepped onto the Eurostar in Paris with a grand feeling of anticipation. The carriage was full of excited travellers, families with overflowing suitcases and some serious Christmas spirit. I’m not gonna lie - even the train ride felt like a performance! Everyone looked like they were starring in their own festive show. And here’s me, ready to shine bright in my pink tutu. How fabulous is that! I had my phone ready to snap a few pics (of course!) and maybe film a quick video or two. After all, who can resist a train journey Instagram post?! The Eiffel Tower whipping by the window, the champagne and chocolate... it’s almost like a movie!
Speaking of movies, I was lucky enough to squeeze in a quick show at the Opéra Bastille in Paris before jumping on the train. The music was a dreamy blend of romance and adventure. I love the intensity of classical ballet and those superhuman, graceful pirouettes. The energy on the stage was positively radiant.
Here I am in Rome now and it feels amazing! After dropping my bags in a quirky hotel room overlooking the Trevi Fountain, my first stop was a quick peek into the stunning St. Peter's Basilica! The golden light streaming through the windows - oh, it's beautiful! It feels like a stage waiting for the grandest of all Christmas Eve ballets! But what can I say? I have to go shopping! Right in the centre of the bustling city, a little Italian boutique caught my eye. This one was special - all silk and satins, perfect for a whimsical pink-tutu look. The shop assistant, a sweet lady with twinkling eyes, actually understood my vision! She even suggested a stunning pink feather boa to complete my Roma-ready ensemble! It was the cherry on the deliciously-festive cake! It's definitely going to look fantastic with a pair of shimmery red heels! Perfect for all the gorgeous restaurants we are planning on hitting up tonight.
You see, today is a day for celebrating with family and friends, soaking in the warmth of this beautiful city! There's live music, colourful street performers, and of course, all sorts of gorgeous food and drinks. I love the vibrant street markets bursting with colourful seasonal fruit and sparkling decorations! Honestly, everything in Rome feels so alive. My favourite thing so far? That iconic panoramic view from the Colosseum! Just a little slice of heaven in the centre of this incredible city! Think dramatic sunsets, ancient history, and of course, me, rocking that cherry blossom pink tutu with all its dazzling glory!
My plan for tomorrow? More Roman explorations of course! I've got a private tour lined up to visit the beautiful Vatican Museums. Imagine the art and sculpture! And who knows what stunning fashion might be in store? The streets feel full of creative inspiration - from vintage boutiques to designer showrooms. I'm already making plans for some new outfit photos - and perhaps a little tutu ballet dance under the Italian sun!
