Pink Tutu Rome #484: Ciao Bella!

Well, hello my darling readers! This week sees your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina flitting around the Eternal City of Rome! Sigh It's been a dream to come here and after weeks of planning and countless train journeys from my home in Derbyshire (I love a good train trip!), I finally arrived in this magnificent metropolis!

Rome is every bit as magical as they say - the cobbled streets, the ancient ruins, the buzzing atmosphere – and I must admit, even the sunshine felt rather special. I can already tell it's going to be an extraordinary week of Italian adventures.

Finding the perfect pink outfit!

My first mission was to find the perfect pink outfit for a special Italian evening – something with a touch of classic elegance. Now, I can't reveal all my sartorial secrets, but let me tell you, this city has got a serious shopping vibe! After a day of flitting between chic boutiques, I emerged triumphant with a stunning dusky pink silk dress and a matching scarf (I couldn't resist!). Naturally, a little sprinkle of glitter was needed for that extra touch of sparkle. After all, I'm always a firm believer in shining bright, especially when it comes to pink!

A taste of Italian magic

Later that evening, we had a delicious traditional Italian meal at a tiny, family-run trattoria tucked away in a little cobblestone street. The spaghetti alle vongole was out of this world and we even had some beautiful, freshly-baked cannoli – the ricotta filling was simply divine! Of course, my new silk dress got the attention it deserved. You should see the eyes that followed me around the piazza later that evening – a good Italian evening, you know?!

The Pantheon and a sprinkle of history

This morning was all about culture! The Pantheon was breathtaking – such exquisite architecture, even in its age. I simply couldn't help but feel a twinge of awe. I had to twirl in front of it for a photo op (of course), so you can see the picture on my Instagram - check it out!

The beautiful ancient buildings have really made me think about ballet's roots and the timeless stories that we dance through, the stories of human struggle, hope, and passion.

Dance Lessons!

And speaking of dance… what is a pink-tutu wearing ballerina in Rome without a little Italian dancing?! Later today I’m going for a fun tango lesson - I hear tango has a vibrant history here. Can't wait to add that flair to my own pink tutu wardrobe! And tomorrow morning? Ballet class at the famed Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome! They say they have a special ballet bar just for tutu-wearing ballerinas… I must try to squeeze in a few pirouettes for you, dear readers!

Trevi Fountain Magic

It wouldn't be Rome without tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain – for good luck, of course! A few Euros to bring me back to this beautiful city, hopefully, in the future. (Or to fund the next amazing tutu outfit! Ha!) As I watched the fountains play, it reminded me of the sheer power and energy of the water in ballet, the grace and precision with which the dancers move across the stage. And for just a moment, I imagined myself on that stage, twirling to the melody of the water, my pink tutu dancing under the Roman sky.

More to come…

The week has just begun and I already feel this trip is shaping up to be a masterpiece. I've got a feeling it’s going to be full of delicious discoveries, glamorous outings, and, of course, the perfect opportunity for more pink tutu action! This Friday, we're off to see the Coliseum, and Sunday we have tickets for a fabulous performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. I'm so excited to experience the magic of Italian opera!

Don't forget to follow my journey on social media and visit my website www.pink-tutu.com to read all my latest adventures in the enchanting city of Rome!

And remember, darlings, never be afraid to wear pink, to twirl with abandon, and to embrace the beautiful, pink tutu-fied magic of life!

Ciao for now, Emma xx
