Pink Tutu Rome: #518 - La Dolce Vita, Baby! 🩰🇮🇹

Hey gorgeous babes! It's Emma, your pink-tutu-clad travel companion, back from the vibrant streets of Rome!

This week's adventure was a real whirlwind - the city that never sleeps! My week in Rome was like stepping into a film set, bursting with beautiful architecture, buzzing piazzas, and a contagious energy. It was my fifth trip to the Eternal City, and each time, I discover a new secret corner or delicious pasta spot to add to my "must-visit" list.

The Pink Tutu Travels in Style

This time, I made a triumphant entrance with my luggage looking like a ballerina's dream – imagine a bright pink suitcase with a shimmering tulle trim, a perfect match for my Pink Tutu Rome ensemble, of course! You'll be happy to know the colour pink is making a real statement here in Rome, just like it should! My secret weapon was the pink floral dress I snagged at a fabulous little boutique, tucked away near the Pantheon. It was a complete dream.

My journey started on a comfy train from Derbyshire - the best way to see the countryside, I think. My trusty Pink Tutu backpack, packed with all my favourite beauty goodies and a new paperback of the latest historical fiction book, accompanied me on the trip.

Rome: A Dance of Delight

You know how much I love the energy of a ballet performance, and I have to tell you, my first night in Rome had all the elements. I finally got to see "La Traviata" at the Teatro dell'Opera, and it was pure magic! It's incredible to imagine a performance taking place within such historic walls. The costumes, the music, the passionate drama - it truly felt like I'd travelled back in time. If you're ever in Rome, this is a definite must-see!

The next day, I couldn't resist visiting the world-renowned Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, with its incredible, glittering architecture, intricate murals, and the largest Italian ballet and opera archives. They say that opera houses like these are places of dreams and wonder. Honestly, I could have spent hours just admiring the breathtaking architecture.

La Dolce Vita and the Perfect Pink Tutu Outfit

After an intense morning of ballet research, what's a pink-tutu-loving girl to do but explore the city's fabulous fashion scene! Rome is overflowing with beautiful boutiques! Imagine elegant silk scarves, handcrafted leather bags, and the most charming vintage shops you can find. Of course, I was on the lookout for my ultimate pink tutu companion! I stumbled across the cutest little shop called “The Dressmakers’ Corner.” This vintage-inspired shop with a delightful shop assistant named Isabella, who swore she'd seen me on "Fashion Police", actually had a gorgeous tulle skirt with the most exquisite lavender embellishments - perfect for a pink tutu moment!

I paired this skirt with a blush-coloured silk blouse from the same shop. Let’s just say, Isabella knew how to accessorise! My entire outfit was finished off with a simple black statement necklace, a blush-pink hat and the pièce de résistance - a vibrant pink feather boa I found in a vintage stall just a stone's throw from the Colosseum. It was so perfectly Pink Tutu chic!

Food and Fun Under the Roman Sun

What's a trip to Italy without an adventure into the culinary world? Of course, I had my fair share of pasta – spaghetti alle vongole at a family-run restaurant called “Osteria della Bottega” near the Pantheon was the star of the show. They'd created an amazing fresh seafood pasta dish, served with local white wine, and I loved the buzz of the city life and the sounds of lively conversation.

And, of course, gelato is essential in Rome. My favourite spot for a delicious frozen treat was near the Trevi Fountain, a local gem called “Il Gelataio” where the flavour of the day was an intoxicating combination of blood orange and white chocolate - a real Italian treat!

Exploring Rome with a Pink Tutu Twist

But Rome isn't just about fashion and food, it's about history and culture, and my exploration didn't end there.

On my pink-tutu-filled quest to discover all things Roman, I wandered past the mighty Colosseum and Roman Forum. These are the places that whispered about emperors, gladiators and triumphs of the Roman empire. And of course, I found the Trevi Fountain as romantic and magical as everyone described. I closed my eyes and threw in a coin for good luck and dreamt of my next Pink Tutu Adventure.

As always, my pink tutu added a splash of joy and colour to every street corner and every photo op.

Back to Derbyshire with a Pink Tutu Smile

My adventure in Rome came to an end, and it was bittersweet. I was eager to get back home to Derbyshire, and even more excited to start sharing my adventures on www.pink-tutu.com!

The train ride back was smooth and peaceful. It’s lovely to watch the landscape blur outside the window, as if my thoughts could be travelling too.

But don't worry, there's more to come, darling!

I’ve got a brand-new Pink Tutu itinerary for my next adventure. (And maybe even a new travel vlog!). I'll tell you all about it next week.

Remember, darlings, always find a touch of pink, always twirl and most importantly, wear your Pink Tutu with pride!

Until next time!

💖 Emma
